Welcome to Blue Ridge Mountain Retreat at Wintergreen! This amazing property is the newest addition to Wind Luxury Properties and joins our properties at Smith Mountain Lake (VRBO #'s 648334, 515931, 825368) and our amazing home on the Rappahannock River (VRBO #966039), giving our guests the opportunity to enjoy the high end properties we offer at a 4 season mountain top resort offering winter snowsports! We specialize in providing the high quality accommodations you desire to build lasting vacation memories with your friends and family!
Blue Ridge Mountain Retreat at Wintergreen was acquired in November of 2017. It was previously rented through Wintergreen as "Time Away" and was one of the top 3 properties at the entire resort for the last 5 years. However, if you rented it previously, it will look quite different--in a GREAT way! The property was not up to our standards and immediately after purchase we embarked on a face lift for the home with new furnishings, games, kitchen appliances, pillows, linens, etc.We are dedicated to providing our guests with abundant amenities, comfort, and luxury at all of our properties, no matter what the costs!
This home is an amazing 4800 square foot luxury home located just a short distance from Mountain Inn, ski areas, Founders Vision Overlook, Devil's Knob Golf Course, Tennis Center, Spa, and Fitness Center. We provide you with 7 spacious bedrooms and 4.5 baths, 2 of which are master suites and include a jetted tub in addition to showers. We are able to sleep 20 guests in beds. There are also 4 wood burning fireplaces with firewood provided to roast marshmallows, keep you warm, and provide the crackle by the fire you desire while in bed or on the sofa during cold winter nights. Our luxury kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner, or a feast after a long day on the ski slopes, tennis courts, golf course, or hiking through the mountains. Cook in style with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances prior to enjoying the fruits of your labor at our large dining room table, which seats 12 directly adjacent to the bar which can accommodate another 5 hungry guests! When you have had your fill of the outdoors, you can still enjoy your vacation inside with high speed internet, cable TV, a wide selection of DVDs, card and board games, as well as ping pong and foosball tables.
Wintergreen Resort is a 4 season mountain resort located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. You are less than an hour from Charlottesville, home of UVA, Thomas Jefferson's Monticello, and the amazing 33 member Monticello Wine Trail, as well as an hour from the city of Lynchburg. The famous Blue Ridge Parkway passes beside Wintergreen offering opportunities for scenic drives, hiking, and year round escapes. Wintergreen itself is a massive 10,000 acre tract of land with ski slopes, snow tubing, golf courses, restaurants, stores, tennis and meeting facilities, as well as absolutely breathtaking views--just google Founders Vision Overlook at Wintergreen or Blue Ridge Overlook on Devil's Knob for examples. Overall everything was great. The driveway is tough to navigate when you have 7+vehicles or Large trucks so parking and entering and exiting
The driveway was a challenge. The Deck needs some TLC but we made it work as well as the cement blocks on the walk path below deck. House is Beautiful and spacious. We had 20 Family members stay and still had several beds empty so plenty of room. Kitchen is huge great for family meals! Having so many bathrooms in house was ecspecially nice for parents and grand parents. We had an Excellent stay and will return next year!

We had a nice getaway to wintergreen over the holidays. This property definitely seemed clean and well kept. The check in process was seamless. Communication was on point with Ashley during our stay. The online listing was very accurate for this property. The neighborhood seemed safe. This home isolated just a quarter of a mile to the main lodge so it's not far away from the action like a lot of homes at Wintergreen. We will definitely be returning to this one!!!

This was a great stay for a home in Wintergreen. This is a pretty spacious spot with everything feeling clean and not too outdated for Wintergreen. When we arrived everything was impressively clean like it was likely just completed. Everyone had plenty of space in bedrooms and multiple living rooms allowed for everyone to spread out when necessary. It was nice how close this house is to the lodge in Wintergreen because being a large resort we have found that tricky. We were able to maneuver easily to the lodge and restaurants. Large table was nice for meals and our social games. Great weekend stay for sure.

We had 7 couples stay Nov 3 - 5. The house has seven bedrooms and there were plenty of prepared beds for everyone to have space. Overall, our group had a great stay. The house was clean but like some previous posts, we agreed it could use some freshening up. Steps and handrails that help avoid the steep driveway walk up were missing steps or handrails were loose. These are just wear and tear items that could be fixed both inside and outside the house. But overall, if you are having a large group get together for a Wintergreen stay or brewery tour (like us), this house is great. The kitchen table sat all 14 of us at one time. And plenty of other seating around the open areas. Overall, a decent value for a large group!

We had a very nice stay in Wintergreen Resort for the fall. We especially loved the nearby wineries and breweries. Lots of great spots to enjoy the fall leaves with a drink or good food. The home was spacious enough for everyone to have comfortable sleeping spots and gathering spots. Everything seemed thoroughly clean and well thought out for guests. Great overall trip for everyone that came!

Great house at Wintergreen. This one is very close to the Wintergreen Lodge so you didn’t have to drive through all the roads of wintergreen a distance to get to the restaurants or amenities. We had lots of space for sleeping and hanging. Everything appeared welcoming, clean, and tidy when we arrived. We will definitely be returning here! Lots of 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Check in was amazing and Ashley was great to work with. However, when we arrived the house looked like it had not been cleaned. There were ping pong balls everywhere downstairs and dead bugs in every single bathroom in addition to mold on most of the shower curtains. The house was exactly as listed and was the perfect layout for our group. Overall great stay, but could use a really deep clean.

Our son got married 15 minutes away from the house and the house was a fantastic place for our family to stay for the weekend. We had 20 family members from age 3 to age 76 and the house was perfect for us all. The beds were so comfy - which is important when you are really tired after a long day of wedding partying.

We had a great time at Wintergreen! The house had amazing views and plenty of space for our group. The only minor thing we noticed, was the downstairs bathroom could use a good clean, as the shower curtain was dirty. Other than that, the house was great! It is very close to the Mountain Inn and activities.

We had a nice trip over the holidays! This year was COLD at Wintergreen. Ashley had some great advice about the local area. We had a nice time tubing. The home was clean and the kitchen was well stocked for our nightly cooking. We will definitely use this place again for our ski trips!

Though the house definitely accommodated our large group's needs, when we arrived we found that the prior renter's laundry was piled up in the laundry room and no clean sheets, very few towels in bedrooms. We ended up doing SOMEONE ELSE'S laundry and making our own beds!!
The house was not clean - we found pills from prior renter on floor, mold/old coffee in pot. There were no kitchen towels or dishcloths.
The house nicely accommodates a large group except parking. Though the kitchen was 'well stocked' some pans could use replacing.

We all enjoyed your spacious home. Six couples over 70 all married around 50 years had a wonderful scenic reunion. We raised our children in the same neighborhood, but now live other places. The table was large enough for us to sit and share stories and the kitchen was well stocked for cooking. Comfortable mattresses and bedding. Wish the main area TV was larger but the upstairs loft area was great for football watchers! Having linens provided was a plus. Wish for more eating out opportunities on top of the mountain, but Devils Backbone took our large reservation and we enjoyed it!

We had an awesome time at Wintergreen In this nice home in October. The leaves were changing and the mountains were a beautiful place to be for a relaxing getaway! We went to many of the local breweries and wineries. We also took a quick hike to work off those drinks! The house worked out perfectly formour large group. Everyone had a nice spot to sleep. It was clean, quaint, and Ashley gave us the scoop on the local spots!

Very nice time with the grandkids in the mountains. House had adequate space and was clean. We especially enjoyed the multiple living rooms and stocked kitchen. We appreciated a little extra check in time. It’s good to see Wintergreen open again and the fun activities that Ashley was helpful in directing us to locally.

Unfortunately this was one of our worst experiences ever with renting through VRBO. We traveled here for our annual Womens Retreat. The communication with this property manager was not what I expected. We arrived to a house that was filled with dirt and dead spiders and LIVE SPIDERS with webs through out. The bathroom tubs along with the kitchen had dead spiders in it as well. I informed the manager sent her pictures she then told me that the property had been clean the day before our arrival (but there was no evidence of that). After sending the pictures I tried calling to ensure she received them; but she didn’t answer and didn’t answer none of my calls the remainder of our trip. As we were stripping the bed upon the departure, one bed was found with MEN UNDERWEAR still in it! Which further let’s us know the house wasn’t cleaned at all. This was a very upsetting experience and do to us traveling so far we weren’t able to leave nor find other lodging. We have opened a case with VRBO with hopes of getting these issues resolved so that no one else has to experience that!

We had a very nice time with family at Wintergreen Resort. The house was very accommodating with plenty of space for everyone. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed for meals for a large group. We had more than enough beds for everyone to sleep comfortably. The area had lots of things for the family to do and get out together. I would definitely return with the great communication we had from then owners.

Badly maintained house
This house was a big disappointment. Something broken in every room. Empty soap containers in bathroom. Old small tv in den. Worst was a hazardous deck. S child could fall through broken slats, step on exposed nails, snd even loose footing due to floor holes.

Great summer mountain getaway
We had a really nice time getting in some nice down time with the family. The home had well equipped internet for us to do a little work. The kids had a nice time with the games. There was some nice local spots too. Ashley was great to work with!

Awesome house at Wintergreen!
We had a great time staying at this home at Wintergreen Resort. Lots of fun games at the house. We loved goi g to the local brewery. We enjoyed the restaurants at Wintergreen and some hiking. We had a nice little friends getaway and we’re able to entertain the teenage kids too! Thanks for everything Ashley!!!

The furniture and bedding was comfortable, though the loft bedroom has no window coverings so not sure how anyone could sleep there. A few minor home maintenance issues, e.g., broken light fixture in bath, fooshball and ping pong paddles, deck railing loose slats, etc. keep us from rating higher.

Average property for what you pay for
Overall the property was good for what we needed it for. We had a family vacation for a private 13 person wedding ceremony. Overall for the price you pay for the house was not as well maintained as the listing said, example one fridge was not cold, the grass was overgrown and there were few cob webs inside in the corner of the rooms. The whole house needs a really good deep cleaning, and is not worth the cleaning fee. Basement level has mold in all the bathrooms and smells like it has not been well cleaned in a while, and the towels seemed to be original to the house. It was a great vacation but the house could use some TLC. Also some of the patio boards need to be replaced as well furniture needs to be replaced due to rust or damage.
