We loved this adorable home in Bremen where we stayed for close to three weeks this summer. Loved the location with view of the water. Kitchen was very well stocked with everything you could need for cooking and baking. Two living rooms (upper and lower) with very comfortable couches. Upstairs bedroom was so sweet with wonderful view. Downstairs bedroom was perfect for my teen. Ceiling fans were great, and with multiple windows open, we had great cross breezes. Check in and out was easy and smooth. Bremen was a great base to explore mid-coast Maine. We even took a day trip to Bar Harbor/Acadia which was 2.5 hours each way. We loved our time here. Thank you for opening your home to us!

An excellent "base camp" for day trips on the coast. La Verna and Dodge Point Nature Preserves provided us with lovely walks with river and oceans views, complete with eagles and seals.
Great place with two very minor complaints: the kitchen could use more lighting, and the "half bathroom" is a (spa-)bath without a toilet. Everything else was as good or better than expected.

Very comfortable cabin by the sea in a small, quiet Maine town. The cabin has all the amenities needed for a family with small children. We really enjoyed our stay. Waking up every morning and seeing the lobster boats sitting at anchor was so relaxing. Also, we had two clear nights with great stargazing

Marc’s home could not be more lovely, spacious, and comfortable. It has beautiful post and beam construction and many small details that make it feel very “Down East”. The kitchen is very well-equipped and the beds are very comfortable. The deck is so nice and faces East towards the inlet, where you can watch all of the lobster boats. There is a lobster pound a quarter mile away that we ate at every night! The best deal around! We would go back to Marc’s home anytime!

This is a great vacation property. The location and views of the water and summer sky will be with us for years to come. Eating outside on the deck, an excellent gas grill, easy walk to Broad Cove down the hill for freshest live lobsters and clams -- all great. The art work and furnishings were an unexpected bonus. Unique and wonderful. Very cozy, very quiet. Thank you for sharing such a special place!

Great stay in Bremen!
We had a relaxing stay in this well laid out house. Expansive wrap around deck with the morning sunshine over the water and a nice gas grill for dinner. Lots of living space on both floors to stretch out. Thank you for your great hospitality.

End of Summer retreat
We completely enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property! It was a great place to unplug and bike, kayak, hike and swim. The lobsters at the bottom of the hill were amazing and we completely feel in love with the towns of Bremen and Damariscotta. The Pemaquid lighthouse was a lovely evening spot for ice cream and amazing sunsets. We could not have asked for a better vacation spot. The house itself is to die for, well equipped with all you need for your time away from home. Our 14 y/o climbed up into the first bedroom loft and was set for the week. Thank you Marc for sharing your home it's is most certainly a retreat.

lovely house in a great location
Stayed just over 2 weeks at this lovely house in a beautiful location. The house reflects the care with which it was built. Delightful but also everything you might need while renting. Great views from interior and from the deck of Muscongus Bay and some of its many islands. Saw Bald Eagles and Osprey nearly every day from the deck. Great location for birding, hiking, kayaking and biking. Easy to explore beautiful Pemaquid Peninsula ... short drive to New Harbor for Monhegan Island ferries or Puffin cruises. Wonderful stay at a great rental.

A beautiful getaway in the loveliest home
A beautiful home in a picturesque area. We enjoyed coffee on the deck in the morning as the boats headed out. Listened to the birds and enjoyed the flowering plants We had a lovely stay in this charming home. We were within a quick drive to Boothbay to take a puffin tour or catch the ferry to magical Monhegan Island. Near lobster shacks, wonderful hiking, Pemaquid beach. I recommend day trips to Acadia. The home owner answered all our questions and was lovely and accommodating.

Delightful!
This is a delightful house, well appointed and comfortable, with a nice water view. It is also walking distance to a very good lobster "pound" where you can sit on a deck over the water and eat lobster and clams. We were there to spend time with family friends in Bremen, so this house was perfect for us!

It couldn't have been better.
My wife and I were looking for a last minute place to get away, far away, after a hectic spring and early summer work schedule that left us in need of a complete change of scene and change of pace, with no time even to think about planning a vacation in advance. As a VRBO owner, myself, I went to that website first. I don’t know what I even typed in to the search bar, but Marc Poirier’s “Artist Retreat” was the first possibility to pop up on the screen. I read the description: “post and beam open concept home,” “dead-end street in a quiet fishing village,” “five minute walk to…a lobster pound that will cook and serve you up some lobster and clams right on their deck.” “Beam me up, Scotty,” my heart sang as I checked the calendar and discovered that it was available for the dates I needed.
The “Artists Retreat” did not disappoint. It was, indeed, a great and gracious home base for us to regroup and refocus, and enjoy the central Maine coast, from Wiscasset to Bar Harbor, from its many art galleries, museums and antique shops, to its breathtaking coves and coastline. Though the house came with a full kitchen, we found ourselves on the road most evenings at dinner time feasting harbor side in one town after the other on some of the best seafood I have had in my life.
But, most special for me, was sitting at the kitchen table at 7 a.m. every morning, savoring my first cup of coffee, looking out the window at the cove beyond shrouded in mist, watching as the sun slowly rose burning through the haze to reveal the lobster boats riding at anchor and the islands beyond. It couldn’t have been any better.

Peaceful Artist's Retreat
Our stay in Marc's post and beam was absolutely wonderful. The craftsmanship and detail in his home is much to be admired. The home in on a cul de sac and overlooks a small harbor filled with lobster boats. Close walk to enjoy lobster and seafood delights bringing along your favorite beverages. Close to Damorascotta for dining and strolling and Pemaquid Beach. Route 32 recently paved making for excellent biking. Truly enjoyed stay and will definitely return.

We had a truly wonderful time at the house. It's a gorgeous little place that actually worked well for us with our two small children (3 1/2 and 13 months). The kids loved the deck and it was easy to keep an eye on them with the fairly open floor plan. The owner was nice and purchased a pack-n-play for us before our stay so that we didn't have to check it on the plane. Whew!We also enjoyed walking to buy lobsters and bringing them home to cook them for dinner-- yum! The house was set up with everything one would need for a vacation-- lots of kitchen supplies, linens, etc. My husband loved the grill! Of course, the best part of all was the location-- Bremen fell in the middle, geographically, of a lot of the day trips we wanted to take-- Wiscasset, Rockland-Camden area, Boothbay. There was lots to do!
