We loved the house layout and the peacefulness of the the property and surrounding area.
The location is close to everything.

We loved our stay. The pictures do not give this house justice. It is an older home but it is beautiful. If you choose to stay, don't worry about bringing beach chairs. They have plenty to use. My boys enjoyed taking bike rides and fishing on the dock.

Probably the best vacation property I’ve ever stayed at. The amount of things you can do without leaving the property is mind boggling. We probably caught over 100 fish during our one week there right off the dock along with numerous crabs. Saw all kinds of wildlife including bald eagles, osprey’s and an alligator. The beach is an easy walk or there’s a large parking area real close if you prefer to drive. I would go back every year.

The home and its grounds were beautiful. I’ve never stayed at a rental that was so well stocked. We caught lots of fish from the dock; drum (one 18”), crappy, croakers, and huge crabs. Kayaking was amazing. The owners are always available if you need anything.

We had a great first trip to OKI. This house was perfect for our family if 3. The neighborhood is wonderful for walking or running. The beach is a close drive, which for us was no problem. Our son works remotely for a CA company so the 2 days he worked remotely he had his own private area to work. Our dog loved the fenced in backyard….. we absolutely loved the kayaks and the waterway behind the house. The owners keep the house very well stocked, honestly for anything you may need. We will be back!

Convenient to everything! Loved crabbing and fishing from the docks and mornings and evenings on the screened porch. Beach access is an easy walk.
House is huge and would be good for family gatherings. Loved that the kitchen is open to dining area and family room.
Grocery stores are nearby.
Host was super-responsive to any questions.
Enjoy your stay at this great rental home!

This property was just as described. We enjoyed our stay for the week on the island. The home is convenient to everything and the fenced backyard was spacious. Highly recommend this home!

First beach with granddaughter. Great location and great amenities with the property. It was too hot to use the kayaks. GreT communication from property manager! Enjoyed learning the history.

Our family celebrated my mother’s 100th birthday in Oak Island. The home was spacious and had several areas in which family members could gather, eat, talk, and play games. A fabulous time was enjoyed by all!

Beautiful home in a beautiful setting.
Loved the property. Beautiful. Lots of room to stretch out. Screen porch was perfect. My only complaint was it needs a good cleaning especially kitchen cabinet interiors and floors.

Beautiful home and property!
This is an older home, but absolutely beautiful. It has several living spaces that makes it perfect for a large family. A large laundry room for sandy towels and shoes. Highly recommend. Hailey is wonderful to work with.

Quite, restful getaway
This place was great for what we needed at this time! Our dogs loved running in the large backyard! Two downsides, biting insects and having to clean before we left. Overall, we loved our stay!

Great stay
We had a really great stay for our group of nine family members, ranging in age from 4mo to 67. The house is better than what you see in the pictures. Tons of space, very clean, well stocked. The furnishings are old but in good condition. We loved the location - went kayaking and crabbed/fished from the back dock (caught several crabs). The house is 5 min to the beach and numerous shops and restaurants. Overall, our stay was better than expected.

Perfect for spot for everything
The location was just what we needed for our large group of 10. We could fish, shrimp, and do crabbing off the back dock and take a 10 minute or less drive the to beach for surf fishing and play. Close to everything we needed and more. Homeowners always quick to reply to any need or questions. We would definitely stay here again.

Great Family Retreat
Our family of 11 plus a Dog had plenty of room both to visit and/or find a quiet place to be alone. We fished, spent time on the beach, played lots of cards, did puzzles, rode bicycles, played putt-putt, cooked together. All possible with this lovely property. The hosts provided everything we needed.

Wonderful reflective and relaxing
Incredible location, well stocked, lovely week! We kayaked, biked, short walk to beach, wonderful view day and evening. Just to sit on the dock by the waterway was transformative. Thanks Hailey, Deborah and Gibson for sharing your incredible home with us!

Awesome Home!
We had a wonderful time at this unique property. The home was well stocked with everything needed. We spent evenings on the dock fishing, which the kids really enjoyed. The home was very clean and accommodating. Hailey did a great job keeping in touch. We would love to stay again!

Love the marsh
Older home--that means it has strength and character in the craftsmanship. The grounds need some TLC but that does not take away from the overall comfort and enjoyment. Home has extensive library on a myriad of subjects; extremely roomy; excellent location; well equipped kitchen; gorgeous screened in porch looking out at the marsh. All of expectations were greatly exceeded.

An escape to your own private waterway hideout
We were a group of four adults and two dogs that spent a truly magical week on Oak Island at this lovely home. This house clearly has been loved by the family for years, as evidenced by the care put into the home and yard maintenance. We adored wandering out to the dock (although a bit rickety!) to see the sunset over the intercoastal waterway (even saw a lil baby croc/gator!), sipping wine from the lovely screened in porch, and cooking up entirely too much fresh seafood from the wonderful seafood markets in town. The place sets up well for two couples if you want to have plenty of space to yourselves and sharing the main living areas and backyard for group hangs. The grill was a little finicky, but the beds and home set up perfectly for us. We are looking forward to coming back next year and perhaps trying our hand at crabbing off the dock!!

Great location for kayakers
Excellent location for fishing and kayaking. Homeowners are very thoughtful and accomodating. They take care of even the smallest of details. The home is very comfortable and well furnished and supplied. This was our second stay at this home, and we love this home and its location. We plan on choosing this home again and again.

A bit like going to Grandma's.
Don't go to this property expecting a traditional beach front or 1st row experience. Where traditional beach rentals feel like glorified hotels, this feels much more like what it is, an authentic home that the family rents out. If you like an experience that feels like your visiting a relative, this is it. Like any vacation rental, there were some very minor issues and quirks, but they didn't bother us. We did miss the ocean breeze though as we didn't get much of one from the ICW.

Oak Island Hidden Paradise
We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Hailey/Debbie were quick to answer any of our questions and this property was more than we could have expected. The large backyard being right on the canal and having the beach only 4 minutes away made it very easy for our family to enjoy the beach. There were plenty of games to play in the house, enough space for all of us and our pups. We really enjoyed this house and plan to stay again soon! Thank you again, Hailey and Debbie!

July 4th Get away
We were a group of six that included myself, my husband, my 19yr old son, his best bud, my 16yr old daughter, her BFF, and our Border Collie. This place literally had something for everyone in our diverse group of vacationers to enjoy. My husband loved the tool shed (LOL, but seriously it came in handy when I dropped my iphone off the dock), my girls loved the kayaks, my boys loved fishing off the dock, my dog loved the fenced in backyard to roam and explore, and I loved the golf cart ride (through a safe, friendly neighborhood) to the beach. The pictures online don't capture the charm or the feeling that this charming property gives it's residents. It was everything we needed and more. We loved every minute of it and didn't want to leave!

Perfect for our family❤️
We loved this beautiful, spacious home. There was everything you could possibly need provided with this home. The owners were very informative and very quick to answer back with any questions we had. We loved the huge fenced in back yard and the mornings drinking our coffee on the spacious screened in porch listening to the birds and gazing down at the marsh. We were saddened to have to leave but we will be back. Thank you for sharing your home with us. We made beautiful family memories this past week.

Large, comfortable house on the waterway, near beach
A very comfortable house with a fenced-in yard for our dog to run. We loved the screened porch. The beach is a 15 minute walk through a lovely neighborhood.

Lovely Stay
We loved our weekend here. The house was so comfortable and the setting was gorgeous. Less than 10 minute walk to the beach, and fishing/crabbing in the marsh at sunset was unforgettable. The host was extremely responsive, but there was no real need to reach out as they provided almost anything we could have needed. They even had treats for the pups! We’ll definitely be coming back soon!

Fisherman's dream
We really enjoyed our stay at this classic coastal ranch. The owners were fantastic to deal with and the house had a lot of fine appointments and family heirlooms so it felt like a true home. Plenty of space and very functional. The screened in porch with the big dining area overlooking the marsh was a great feature. We were 9 folks including kids, but the house could accommodate more. The direct access out back to a beautiful stretch of marsh was ideal and sold it for us, because most of us liked to fish. If you chose to you could be out to the Inter-coastal Waterway with a 30 minute paddle and make your way to marsh areas closer to the Cape Fear River Inlet and Southport or you could take your time and meander around the marsh directly out back for hours fishing every hole and bend. We caught redfish, trout, and flounder. Beach was 5 minutes away if you wanted to hit the surf and Dutchman's tackle shop was a mere half mile over the bridge from the house. Plenty of room in the yard of the 2 acre lot for the kids and dogs and lots to explore on the Island and in Southport. Everything you could want for a family get away. Especially a family of fisher people. Owners even provided 6 kayaks on the property. They were very easy going and gracious. Highly recommend a stay here.

Oak Island first timets
This was great to be in a quiet setting on a large area with trees. The home is on a side street with little traffic, close to the beach when we wanted to go. We kayaked on the grass marsh eater canals and paddled to the ICW. The home is roomy and comfortable with a large screened in porch. There ample bedrooms and bathrooms , modern kitchen which was a great central operating location for our
family. We were very pleased with the solitude and relaxed quietness there. We could retreat from the seasonal bustle of traffic, people, etc. when we had been at an outing to the restaurant or beach or elsewhere. Hailey was very responsive to inquiries and questions.

Most relaxing vacation
If you are looking for a week of relaxing solitude seeing the tides and birds fly by every day and seeing thousands of stars in the sky this is the property for you. We had an amazing time enjoying the kayaks fishing from the docks and the dogs were in heaven with the amount of space in the yard and being able to run. The house reminded me of going to my grandmothers house there is Old vintage pieces, nothing fancy but all solid and good quality. The porch is awesome and the amount of space in the house for an extended family is perfect. It needs a little TLC but nothing that will detract from staying in the house. It is not fully handicap accessible. Thank you for sharing your childhood home with us!

Wonder relaxation and family time
The owners, relatively new to renting this house, went out of their way to make sure guests had everything they needed, such as a closet full of soaps, toothbrushes, towels, and lots more.
What a great older house! As a one story house it was perfect for an older member of the family to avoid steps.
I really like the peace and quiet of staying on the intercoastal. We kayaked and sat on the docks. It was 1/2 mile to the beach. If we drove, we could always find a beach parking spot, even on July 4th Weekend. Our Beach near the Oak Island Pier was 1/8th as crowded as Carolina Beach.
We did the free Oak Island Lighthouse tour. It was an awesome adventure to the top and a great view.
The house has a great screened in porch where we could watch and hear the occasional rainstorms over the intercoastal. For peace and quiet for a family of many ages, I would fully recommend this house!

Moore House
Lovely quiet home! The kayaks are a must do and they provide all you need. Take the time to enjoy a morning or sunset paddle just out of your back door! You will want to spend all of your time on the massive screened in porch overlooking the marsh! Check in was easy and it felt like a home!

Very nice home
Our large family attended a wedding in Southport so we decided to stay here. We made the right decision. One of our party had a broken foot so a one-story house was what we needed. The large yard and view were great. We never had the time to get out on a kayak but the docks were nice. Living in the house was like being part of the owner's family as many family items remain. The house is fully stocked as it seems to be used by the family when not being rented. The large screened porch also is great to enjoy the views but not the bugs.
The house is located only a 15 minute easy and safe walk to the beach and a very nice golf course community is next door. It is within 15 minutes driving of everything in the Southport and Oak Island communities.
Our two dogs enjoyed the backyard but we wished the small portion of fence that was missing would have been replaced so they could have been off leash in the entire backyard. There was however a small totally fenced garden area. The owner was also very attentative as one of the AC units wasn't cooling when we arrived and she immediately had a repair company fix the issue.
If you're looking for a large and tranquil house to stay at, look no further.

Great Location
We had a great time as a 3 generation family at this house. It's all on one level so my parents didn't have any stairs. The only complaint is that the beds are hard as a rock but the owner said they plan to replace them down the line.
