great little cabin

My dog and I enjoyed our stay at this little cottage on the coast. It was quiet and comfortable. The cottage could use some TLC and a good interior paint job and the kitchen left a little to be desired for cooking in, but otherwise it had everything needed for a nice 10 days on the coast.

My mom and I came for a mother daughter getaway! Getting down to the beach was a little daunting, but ended up fine, totally private beach! Nice couch and Roku TVs, deck to look at ocean (bring your camping chairs) no good seating options out there! Hot shower, laundry, bed was like camping and kitchen was a little like camping- so glamping! But for the views, beach, price???? We will be back!

This little cottage has fantastic ocean views and access. It is warm & cozy with a unique fireplace, comfy sofa & chair and vintage furniture & appointments galore. Plus a kitchen with most everything you’ll need for your stay. A wonderful getaway place!!

The house was so comfortable and was perfectly situated near the beach, the aquarium, and Newport downtown. We had so much fun! The house was so peaceful. Thank you!

Homey and adorable cottage super close to the beach. Would absolutely stay here again!

Adorable cottage with a beautiful view of the ocean. The soothing sounds of the ocean were wonderful. Would highly recommend. We were very comfortable. As mentioned in other reviews there is soot stains on the upper walls, looks like someone used the fireplace and the smoke escaped staining the walls and ceiling but the cottage smelled good and it didn’t affect our enjoyment at all.

It's a great little house and I would definitely stay there again. The new fence makes it a little hard to get into and out of the driveway. The views are wonderful, but I wish the sliding door in the living room was clear so you could enjoy it more. Also, screens would be nice on sliding doors.

Awesome little house with every thing you need, best part is the beach that only hose owners have access to so it is almost like having a private beach to yourself.

My fiancé and I really enjoyed staying at this cute cottage by the ocean with our dog. It was the perfect weekend getaway to relax, with amazing views of the ocean and sunset. All of the necessary amenities were present for a comfortable stay.

This place was small, the driveway was a little difficult to get in and out of, but it had everything we needed, was dog friendly, cozy and super clean. I liked the personal feel this home hard, the fire place added to that. There is beach access right down the street which was really convenient! The neighborhood felt same and was a very comfortable stay.

The home was very quaint. It needs some TLC, but I can’t complain like others have. It’s a rental that past guests haven’t respected. Great place to stay for the price and location.

Even though it rained most of the time, we had a lovely time. It was nice to have a warm, pleasant place to come back to after each day of beach-combing.
Everything worked, there were plenty of towels, we appreciated the full sized refrigerator.

I enjoyed this little place so much. Waking up to a view of the ocean is one of my greatest joys. I found it perfect for a little getaway with my dog to the coast. Highly recommend for a chill, simple, place with taste. So few of these on the coast, honestly. The big clawfoot tub was a huge plus for me.

We were completely satisfied with the accommodations for the favorable price. We'll very likely return same time next year or later this year.

We arrived at 4pm and couldn’t get the place warmed up till after 9pm! If someone had stopped by to turn the heat on prior to our arrival time this would have been more pleasant.

This quaint little place has been great - in the past - for our visits to South Beach. It’s convenient to family nearby and we’ve stayed here several times. Unfortunately, we won’t be staying here again unless the owners make an investment in fixing up the place. They’ve really let it decline. The listing photos are very out of date and don’t reflect the current state of the property. There are good attributes: beautiful ocean sounds, great water pressure, washer/dryer, WiFi. It also has a new fridge since our last visit and they’ve repaired the outlets and light switches.
However, those pluses don’t make up for smoke-stained ceilings and walls, missing cabinet doors, non-working fireplace, spackle-laden bathroom walls, fogged patio windows (blown seals), missing towel rack, broken stove burner, dirty mini blinds, worn and torn living room chair (with slips on arms and seat), inadequate deck lighting, and more.
In addition, there’s no longer a little welcome packet from Vacasa and the info about the secondary key box is inaccurate (wrong code). At about $200/night (with fees), there are better options in the area.
This property would be a GEM with a little TLC: convert fireplace to gas; install flooring over the finished sub-flooring; update to efficiency kitchen; clean and paint ceilings and walls; replace sofa and chair; and ditch cable for a WiFi enabled TV.
I can only hope Vacasa would encourage the property owner to spruce up this little cottage. It’s adorable and a great location. Sadly, we won’t stay again without some effort by the owners to make it worth visiting.

Fireplace was unusable and there was smoke damage and soot on the walls and ceiling of every room in the house. Tv did not work. House had an unpleasant smell. Living room furniture was worn out, grimy and uncomfortable. I tried to contact support via email bc there was no phone reception - sent two emails and never got a reply. Overall a terrible experience.

Cozy, rustic cottage. Very quiet. Access to beach is dicey. But - close to South Beach State Park.
Some things in the cottage need to be updated/addressed.

Cute, Cozy Cottage with great views and private beach.

Loved the Beaches of Oregon - but Bed 'n Beaches is not the place to stay to enjoy time in the area and the Cottage is not dog friendly ( no garden or area to walk the dog).
The Cottage has been neglected - the garden is an overgrown jungle. The exterior needs maintenance eg. The roof gutters are blocked with overgrown weeds - the chimney is blocked ( evidence internally on the fireplace of soot and grime from smoke) . The electrical fittings and switches are faulty . The electric cooker has faulty hot ring.Cupboard doors are missing. Vent grills are dirty on the inside.
Access to the Beach is very difficult and dangerous for elderly or physically challenged people.
Overall we were very disappointed and will never return.

Love the fireplace and bummer that you can only do Duraflame logs and it makes sense. If you burn them closer to the front of the fireplace, it will smoke up the home and turn on the fire alarms, so burn them toward the back of the fireplace. The view is exquisite, seeing the ocean waves, from the western facing wall of the home. Easy self entry, great kitchen space, stove and microwave. Great communication with the host.

A great beach house to relax and get away from the city. Cozy and quite. All you hear are the waves.

For the price I paid for a stay at this place I expected a hell of a lot better. The deep cleaning on this place hadn't been done in quite some time. Underneath the bed was a layer of dust and hair. The walls in the living room, bedroom and bathroom had soot stains from the fire place as well as cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. The kitchen supplies were only a little better than camp-out cookware. There was no house manual to let you know how to work the TV/DVD player. Plus the bed's mattress was like sleeping in a ditch and the rest of the furniture was musty and old. On the outside deck, there was a table, which I would have loved to use for an outside meal or to hold some snacks and wine while we watched the sunset, but the table hadn't been cleaned in quite some time plus it had a broken leg. I didn't pay nearly $$$/per night so that I have to scrub stuff in order to use it.
As for the cost per night this is worth about $$/night at best but Vacasa and VRBO's fees raise the nightly cost to nearly $$$/night. Talk about bait and switch pricing! All the fees should be tacked onto the price up front on your search so that you know the REAL cost of the stay before you hit the rent button. VRBO's interface did a lousy job of letting me know all the cost before I rented. They showed the fees for Vacasa but not their fee on the secondary screen after you start the booking process, and even then it flashes by quickly to the third screen to complete the booking.
I'll not be using VRBO nor Vacasa again. Properties of dubious quality with bait and switch pricing are a deal breaker for me and leads me to question the overall trustworthiness of these companies. Nope. No thanks. Ya screwed up my wife's 60th Birthday stay and therefore you lose my business.
However this being said, I do feel sorry for the owner who is being lead astray and being taken advantage of by these companies. They're doing an owner a real disservice by not properly advising them on how to run a successful, well kept vacation rental. VRBO and Vacasa would do well to institute proper Host success managers would could guide the property owners to meet an expected standard of comfort. This is vacation rental rule #1 for crying out loud. But apparently VRBO and Vacasa's #1 has more to do with their bottom line than improving standards.

Awesome beach, dirty sheets.
The beach below the property was nice and pretty quiet with a lot of great fossilized shells and cool caves. The house was as described in some of the other reviews. We slept on dirty Sandy sheets the first night…thinking it was just cheap cotton. Upon closer examination in the morning it was clearly sand in the sheets. We found out her sheets in a drawer and changed them. There was plenty of drink-ware but several of the glasses had chips and cracks. There was some kind of leak in the bathroom (the toilet potentially) causing the floor to be slightly wet at all times. Aside from that it was a nice cozy getaway and was wonderful hearing the ocean as we slept. I left an item and tried to contact the owners but never received a reply.

Good location, close enough to Newport and activities there.

Beach house
We had a good time but the house has some issues. The hot water in bathroom sink doesn’t work, a bit of mold along all the ceilings. Shower is a little bit of a bummer. Overall we had fun but probably won’t be back
