Nederland is 8236 feet above sea level and 6 miles east of the Great Continental Divide. Downtown Ned is quaint and cozy. A wonderful Colorado mountain town with unique shops, multiple restaurants, supermarket, Co-Op market, coffee/pastry shops, three breweries, an indoor carousel, skate park, mining museum and lots more packed into this small town!
- Explore the walking trail to Barker reservoir or check out Chipeta park/ Pavillion & Kid's fishing Pond along the creek.
- Fishing at Barker Reservoir and Boulder creek
- Eldora Mountain Resort is a 12 minute drive (bus service available) to the west. Ski or snowboard the Alpine slopes, snowshoe or cross country the Nordic area. A great getaway from the crowded I-70 ski areas!
- Indian Peaks Wilderness Area is a 15 minute drive west. 76,000 acres of untamed wilderness. Access the Colorado back country up to and over the Continental Divide. No motor vehicles or bikes allowed, a true Rocky mountain experience! Winter access not for the faint of heart:) but rewarding to say the least.
- Mud Lake/Caribou Ranch Open Space trail systems are within walking distance. A wonderful system of loops and some of the most level trails you'll find in the Rockies. Enjoy hiking, biking, cross country skiing and snowshoeing. Ice skating is allowed on Mud Lake. Wildlife is abundant, moose, elk, deer, and fox are all common sights to the attentive hiker. Get lucky and spy a bobcat, lynx, bear or mountain lion!
- 30 minute drive South to the casino towns of Central City and Blackhawk
- RTD bus Park and Ride is 1/4 mile away. Access to Boulder, Denver and Eldora Mountain Resort!
It's a downhill, under 10 minute walk from the apt to town. You need not walk along the highway, there is a shortcut path by the SE corner of the Community Center parking lot. Plan a little longer time walking UPHILL from town or the RTD(bus lot) to the apt.
- The driveway is steep and during winter 4WD or AWD and snow tires are A MUST to make it up. That being said, it is south facing and snow/ice melts off quickly on sunny days. There is public parking across the highway at the Community Center and you can walk up and/or I can help shuttle your luggage up.
- We do our best to maintain the driveway and walkway free of snow and ice but it will be slippery at times. By making a reservation you accept risk of any/all personal injury or vehicle damage due to weather conditions.
- Take note; Winter can be windy. It's not unusual for sustained 50mph wind for an entire day. Snowstorms can be heavy. It's not unusual to get multiple feet in a day. Winter also has many calm, beautiful blue sky days, especially following a storm. Be prepared for any and all weather conditions!
- Altitude sickness affects some people. Drink LOTS of water! Take it easier than normal with physical activity and alcohol consumption. Canned oxygen is available in town at the B&F Market and other stores, it can really help ease symptoms!
- Dress warm, in layers during winter. Be prepared!

Very nice first level apartment, with owners living above. Everything separate...has nice living room, and small kitchen well equipped for cooking. We would stay here again! We went to Rocky Mountain National Park for hikes, and spent time in Estes Park and Boulder for window shopping and dining. Found a nice trail nearby that we did one evening, after eating dinner in the apartment.

Due to our vacation being short we were in a bind trying to find a house. This one was available and it was just what we needed. Perfect size and the location to downtown Ned was excellent. Owners very helpful. We look forward to returning!

Spacious and comfortable, enjoyed our stay and the host was very welcoming. Couldnt find any local stations on TV but that wouldn't prevent us from staying again. Price was good and would recommend this place to others.

This was my 2nd stay here, so you know I love it. Great location on the front range. Quiet, with everything you need, and very responsive hosts. And none of those games a lot of hosts play with lengthy checkout task lists. Just be a responsible guest.

This unit is just outside Nederland, about a 15 minute walk. It sits on the side of a hill with a very narrow, steep driveway. I hated the driveway. The bedroom is on the ground level and the rest of the apartment is up the stairs. The bed needs to be replaced as it was not comfortable. My sister slept on the couch and said it was comfortable. The bathroom was kind of weird, good thing we aren’t tall, the wall is right in your face when on the toilet. The reason for four stars on the cleaning was the rancid kitchen sponge (nothing a minute in the microwave couldn’t fix) and mildewy smelling wash cloths in the bathroom, we just did without. There’s a little sitting area out front that we tried to use but due to the highway noise and the guy who spun out on his ATV kicking up dust we went back inside. All in all it was an ok stay.

The property was very comfortable. Not fancy but much like home. It was very clean and well maintained. Everything I needed was provided. While I didn't use them, there were many books and movies available for use. Mike and Kim were incredibly helpful with removing the snow from the parking space. Kim even helped me get free when I got stuck in the snow after I first arrived.
I particularly enjoyed the workstation in the bedroom. It made it easy to use my laptop.
I enjoyed my stay immensely and would stay here again if I want to spend more time in the Nederland area.

Mike and Kim accepted my last minute reservation for a short mountain get-away. I’m grateful they had! Everything about this spot was perfect. Clean and spacious apartment, hospitable and communicative hosts and spectacular views! I look forward to my next visit which will hopefully be very soon. Thank you.

The owners are accommodating and kind. We enjoyed the fully-outfitted kitchen, having a tub/shower, and a spacious bedroom. A friend stayed on a comfortable mattress that was provided. I would have felt safe (as a woman traveling alone) there.

We used this apartment as a base for a week of hiking. The location is perfect. Nederland is a short drive away and has a grocery store, restaurants and laundromat. All our fabulous hikes were a half hour or less of driving time. The scenery was gorgeous. The apartment was clean and perfectly set up for outdoor adventures. We stocked the fridge with food from Costco on our way from the airport and filled in with smaller essentials from the market in town. WiFi reception was good. Our hosts were very friendly and accommodating. We would stay again.

We felt lucky to have a chance to stay here - the place is cozy and nice. Very clean. Not the owner's fault but a word of warning - I had to be aggressive to make it up the hill with a FWD car and an inch of snow. AWD or 4x4 would have been a better idea. Either I didn't read closely enough or it was just slippery that particular day. I got points with the GF for pulling it off, so it worked out in my favor :) Would rent again!

The apartment was spotless, comfortable and a pleasure to stay in. The owners are above so they may have heard us (we’re not loud) and vice versa but for us this wasn’t a problem. We loved having the chickens look in the window at us lol. Everything we could have needed was there both in the kitchen and the apartment. I’d definitely stay there again!

Family feel, clean and convenient. Just one problem. I weigh 185 lbs. My wife ways 110. The bed was fine for one of us but would sink towards my weight causing my wife to roll down the hill I created. I slept on the couch. It’s a fine little basement apartment that only needs a better bed. Everything else could not have been better.

This property was a pleasure to rent. The kitchen was well stocked. There were no utensils I could have wanted for. The TV system was top notch. The neighborhood was quiet. It felt like a home away from home. Mike the host is most personable. I highly recommend this accommodation.

Loved our stay in Nederland!
We loved staying at this apartment in the beautiful Colorado mountains! The drive up from Boulder to Nederland is absolutely beautiful. As a single mom traveling with two kids, it was a priority for me to stay in a safe and comfortable location. We felt very safe here and had all that we needed. The owners are very helpful if you have any questions. The house and apartment are nestled on a hillside and very close to the quaint town of Nederland. Loved reading about the history of this mining town! The kids enjoyed two days of skiing at Eldora, less than 15 minutes away. Eldora has great skiing without all the commercial fluff of some of the large resorts. We would definitely love to to visit again someday!

A great stay in Nederland
The location is great, an easy walk into Nederland's downtown area. The apartment was comfortable and a great set-up for two people to work remotely in different areas. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely try to stay here again when we return to the area!

A great home base for hiking in the peak-to-peak area
We picked this place because it offered a great location with a kitchen and WiFi access for remote work. Mike and Kim were great hosts too, offering hiking advice and even clearing the driveway after snow. Would stay here again.

Great 1 Day Getaway
Comfy, cozy place to stay for daughter Rachel & I up for 1-day ski trip. Appliance + thermostat instructions were well marked/posted. Very clean and laid out (really liked the books/guides in both main/front room and bedroom desk. A few dry goods (ex: Oatmeal for breakfast) was a nice touch! Enjoyed watching a movie on Netflix streaming. Only rough part was navigating up the hill on snow pack. Mike was very accomodating in offering alternative parking, driving his car down, picking us up in the Community Center parking lot, loading our gear, and giving us a lift up the road to the VRBO. Can't wait to come back again! Thanks
