About this house rental
Not your average rental property. Designed by Athena Calderone of EyeSwoon and featured in Architectural Digest in February 2020. Renovated by Bates Masi Architecture this Mid-Century Modern home was completely updated with new appliances, finishes, materials, furniture, art, and decor. The home was originally featured in Elle Decor and graced the cover of Living Etc Magazine.
The house is located in Barnes Landing a small community on the cusp of Amagansett and EH Springs, on the quiet street Robins Way. Walking distance to the Barnes Landing private Bay Beach and minutes away from Louse Point. The home is a 5-minute drive to the Amagansett town, Ocean Beaches, Long Island Railroad, and many local farm stands. Perfectly situated between East Hampton and Montauk!
The property is extremely private on 1 1/2 acres. The home features a 20 x 40 heated gunite pool with 2 modern teak double lounge chairs and umbrella for sunbathing at the foot of the pool. A hot tub is also situation on the back deck just outside of the primary bedroom.
The home boasts 4 bedrooms. The primary bedroom is outfitted with a king size bed and a massive sun-drenched en suite master bathroom with free standing bathtub. A surf-inspired teen's room with a queen sized bed and a full bathroom across the hall. Two guest room are situation on the opposite side of the home — each with a queen bed and their own shared full bathroom. What's so unique about the home is that the large sunlight-filled great room separates the primary wing and the guest wing so that everyone has optimal privacy.
The home is perfect for entertaining with an oversized, well stocked, open kitchen (the heart of the home), a cozy TV room just off of the kitchen, a supersized farm table that seats 8-10 people, built in Sonos audio system indoor & out, and glass doors that open to the outside from almost every inch of the house…inviting the outside in.
A newly renovated lower level includes an open laundry room with full-size washer/dryer, a larger media room (a haven for kids), and a small gym with a powder room.
The home has central air. Each of the bedrooms also has a ceiling fan should you choose to not use the a/c at night. The back deck holds a rosewood outdoor dining table, a gas grill, and a central built in fire pit surrounded by deck chairs.

August stay
Beautiful home and property close to quaint little beaches and a short drive into town! I really enjoyed my stay. Athena was very accessible and helpful when any issues came up during my stay. The only issue was construction directly across the street, which was somewhat disruptive to sleep but that was outside of anyone’s control.

Zen paradise!
The house is lovely and as you would expect with the owner, a treat for the senses! Beautiful architecture that really brings in the light and the natural surroundings, filled with unique furnishings and interesting crafts.
We were a group of 7 adults (mostly from LA) gathered for family birthdays and also enjoyed the back deck with built-in fire pit, BBQ and rustic outdoor dining table, and the lovely pool watched over by a sitting buddha, all of which were a perfect, serene-but-fun locale for a gathering of family and friends. The weather in mid-September was spectacular.
Short walk to a nice beach, and easy drive into any local town. Don't miss the Springs General Store a little over a mile away -- really a great local institution with good sandwiches and casual food and drink, or the nearby Famer's Market on Saturday mornings. The Wolffer Estates winery and vineyards about 20 minutes away also makes for a great afternoon of wine and wonderfulness!
My only warning is don't stay here or it will spoil you for any other house rental!

Amazing house with great garden and pool
We loved every minute of our stay in this house. Truly spectacular place. It really is as good as it looks in the photo. Nice quiet location but only minutes from shops, restaurants and beach. We didn't want to leave...
Athena, the owner, was on hand if we needed anything but the place was just great.

Equally beautiful property and home. Peaceful and warm.
Straight out of a magazine. We have stayed in many hotels and houses. This is at the top of the list. On a separate note, the owners are easily reachable and helpful with any small questions that came up.

Amazing Property | Great Experience
Our stay at this property far surpassed our expectations on a number of levels. First, the property itself is remarkable - the photos online almost don't do it justice. The owner was incredibly helpful and a pleasure to deal with. She even brought over fresh organic produce for our stay! I would very highly recommend this property and hope to be staying there again in the near future!

Amagansett Home
We are a family 5 adults and two children, aged 4 and a half and two and a half - 5 of us from London UK and 2 from Portland, Oregon. We chose Athena's house for its location close to a beach, large garden and pool - all of which we knew the children would love. We also liked the look of it from the photos on the VRBO site. Communication with Athena was very easy and we had all our questions answered before we arrived - because Athena sent us comprehensive information about the house and the area. The house was perfect for us - really stylish - even more so than you see from photos - but also very practical. Everything we needed, e.g. for cooking, was there, including a great barbecue - plus plentiful linen etc. The weather wasn't great but we still managed to spend a lot of time in the garden and the pool which the children loved. The nearest beach was easy walking distance and perfect for little ones. It was only a few minutes to larger, windier beaches at East Hampton where there was also good shopping - Citarella supermarket especially. Amagansett itself is pretty - best coffee at Jack's. We all highly recommend the house.
