About this cottage rental
Pine Place on the Lake is located on 450 feet of waterfront on the southeast corner of West Twin Lake (all-sports lake) in northern Michigan near the town of Lewiston. Entering Pine Place on the Lake, the driveway entrance creates the feeling that you are entering your own private village with plenty of opportunity to play inside and out. Guests stay in two charming cottages:
Yellow Cottage: The Yellow Cottage is decorated with warmth and charm and is a place where families can enjoy being together while watching beautiful sunsets. The Yellow Cottage features: 3 Bedrooms (2 Queen + 1 Full), 1 ½ Bathrooms, Living Room, Full Kitchen.
Blue Cottage: The Blue Cottage is a nostalgic place, reminiscent of those “up north” vacations of yesteryear. Knotty pine walls, stone fireplace along with a modern kitchen and bathrooms summon warm memories in a rustic “Cabin by the Lake” style. The Blue Cottage features: 3 Bedrooms (1 King, 1 Queen, 1 Full), Convertible Bed, 1 Twin Bed, 2 Trundle Beds, 2 Bathrooms, Living Room, Loft, Full Kitchen.
Cottages are complete with full kitchens, washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, blender, utensils, dishes, glassware, pots & pans, bath towels, linens and a gas grill.
June 15 through August 31 - minimum 7 night stay required.
While here, enjoy our 10-person outdoor hot tub, recreation room with pool table and ping pong, fire pit, shuffle board, horseshoe pits, kayaks and paddleboards. Sunbathe on the dock after cooling off with a swim in the lake. There is no beach area, but the water is very shallow and the bottom is sandy out to the end of the dock. Sink a line and catch walleye, small mouth bass and perch. Pontoon boat rental is available on site. Guests of Pine Place have their own private dock.
We are a 30 minute drive from Gaylord, Grayling, Mio and Hartwick Pines and just ten minutes from the spectacular Garland Lodge and Resort with its four beautifully maintained 18-hole golf courses. Nearby you’ll find restaurants, antique shops, ice cream shop, biking, tennis, grocery store, drug store, hardware stores, gas stations, and more.
Come stay with us and see why our guests call it a little piece of heaven!

The property has more space than expected with TONS of outdoor games and amenities. The lake was great for fishing and boating (although fairly shallow in most areas).
The house and rec building were all clean and well stocked. The hot tub was enjoyed daily by all!
Great communication by the owner, who lives in a neighboring home on the property.
We rent annually with 5 families and this was the first location that all families enjoyed and said "we would come back here."

We had a wonderful time and both cottages were picturesque, clean and had everything that we needed. The lake was clear and there were kayaks and paddle boards to use. The game room was amazing and great for the young adults and teenagers. Thank you, Lynel, for a great stay. We want to come back next year.

Property is as advertised, Lakefront property with tons of outdoor activities available. When you pull into the driveway you feel like you are entering an exclusive private resort. Recreation building is a great common area for gathering and entertaining your group,

Beautiful and Plenty of room for fun!
The cottages on the lake are so pretty. There is so much to do, we didn't get to do all that we wanted. With an indoor rec center, outdoor games, boating and a jacuzzi! We'll have to come back. We loved that there are 2 cottages. Plenty of room for large parties and plenty of parking. Cute town and neighborhood. Owners are so helpful! LOVE IT!! Thanks so much!!!

Amazing property and hosts!
Lynel and Lance have an amazing property that everyone of our 13 person group loved. The rec room, pontoon and outdoor games were a big hit. Both cabins were spotless and very comfortable. We hated to leave!

Beautiful setting and very well maintained and clean cottages. The Recreation Building provided activities for a rainy day and a great spot for evening board games. The Harding’s were wonderful hosts!

Stayed at Pine Place with my family for the week with adults, kids and two babies. Everyone was comfortable and had so much fun! Will definitely come back!

Perfect!
The property is even more lovely in person than in the photos and our group simply could not have been happier with our stay there. Having the Rec Hall available so that folks don't have to congregate in one of the cottages if it's chilly outside was fantastic. To top it all off, Lynel & Lance are the kindest, most hospitable hosts anyone could ask for. They were always keeping us topped up on firewood and even brought us some local tortilla chips for the fajita dinner we made Sunday evening :-) 10/10

Great place
Our group loved the place. Beautiful place on a beautiful lake with beautiful sunset views. Our favorite was the hang out area right by the water. Lynel was an awesome host. She gave us our privacy but was there when we needed anything and was very understanding about everything. She's a very nice person that jokes with you and is easy to get along with. Most definitely would like to go back.

Beautiful property, boating, sunsets, loved it!
Pine Place on the Lake easily accommodated 16 of us with room to spare. Yard games, a large hot tub, game room, fishing dock and pontoon boat provided a constant flow of family activities all week long. Stand-up paddle boards, beautiful sunsets over the water, can't wait to go back!

Great place to stay.
Our family had a fabulous stay at Pine Place. The owners Lance and Lynel were so accommodating and very fun to be with. There are so many activities to do on the property that we only left once to eat out and go to the grocery store. Cottages were well appointed and very clean. We will be back next year!

Very well maintained homes
Great place with great owners who take real pride in their rentals to ensure everybody has a good time.
The cottages are quality homes not your typical summer rentals, if you want quality and quiet this is your place

Pine Place on the Lake is a beautiful and wonderful private property that our group of 15 loved!
Lance and Lynel were the most gracious and accommodating hosts that one could wish for, constantly asking if we needed anything.
The cottages and recreation building are very charming and all were very clean upon our arrival.
There is abundant out door space providing ample room for kids of all ages to enjoy, and the gorgeous sun sets never disappointed. And, once the sun finished setting the number of stars that could be seen was awe inspiring.
Our group is already looking at our 2017 summer schedules to see when we can all gather again and return to this truly wonderful property.

Serene, perfect Northern Michigan experience
We had a wonderful time at Pine Place on the Lake! Our vacation served as a mini-family reunion, which included people ranging from age 1 to age 95, and everyone had a great time. While the weather didn't cooperate the whole time, there was plenty to do when it rained, thanks to the ping pong table, pool table, and board games in the games cabin (aka the "rec room"). The hot tub was also nice when it was cooler during the evening.
We did have a few sunny days, and we kayaked and paddle boarded on the lake (the water is calm enough that even an amateur like myself could enjoy it!).
The sunsets are absolutely breathtaking, and we were able to enjoy several (again, while the weather cooperated!) from the dock and patio in front of the yellow house.
We will definitely be back again!

Better than Advertised!
My extended family (parents, sibs, nieces, nephews) spent a week at Pine Place. We rented both of the cottages. The cottages were absolutely beautiful and the grounds were lovely. I felt like we were in our own little village. There was so much to do right on the property that we rarely left. There is also enough room for you to find a quiet place to read, relax or nap if you are so inclined. We had people with ages ranging from 5-79 and everyone found fun things to do. We will definitely be returning!

Spacious and absolutely beautiful!
The property was everything we had hoped, and the description of the property was spot on. Our location was convenient for planning day trips, but since this was our first visit to the area, we chose to simply enjoy the beauty of Twin Lakes. There was plenty of room for our large family to spread out, as well as gather in one location. The cottages were clean and comfortable, providing all the amenities of home. Lance and Lynel were the perfect hosts. They offered wonderful suggestions for local attractions, and went out of their way to make our stay memorable. We can't wait to visit again!

Beautiful grounds, well appointed facilities
The grounds are very well maintained and attractive with lots of run around space for kids and games. The cottages are up to date, comfortable and all appliances work great! The game shed was a lifesaver during a day and a half of rain and cool temps (bunch of kids from 10 down to 4). The hot tub, lake side 'deck', dock, kayaks, paddle boards all were a hit. We spent lots of time at the lake and on the dock. A very enjoyable week. Lancy and Lynel are very friendly and generous.

Serenity Now!
If you are looking for a place to escape that connects you with all things nature combined with a quiet, clean and affordable night's stay - this is your place. I had such a great time vacationing in this spot literally steps away from the lake.
I stayed in the House adjacent to the lake which has a full kitchen, full bathrooms and a number of bedrooms that were beautiful and had the feel of a very chic cabin. It gifts a unique experience that far exceeds other hotels/motels in the area. Especially Garland (which I've stayed at and was underwhelmed by the service). Plus, the owners (Lynel and Lance) were a joy to work with.
If you're considering this property - consider yourself already at a home away from home!

Summer or Winter- the perfect vacation spot.
As soon as you pull down the driveway and the trees give way to the open setting on the lake, you know you are in for a very special vacation. What makes Pine Place so wonderful is that you have activities for all. We were able to spend the day on the lake kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming and then enjoying the oversized hot tub before playing games of shuffle board, ping pong and horse shoes. The following day golf was on the agenda. The best thing for our family was that everyone had something to do, yet Pine Place is also a great spot to just relax and "do nothing." Beautiful sunsets end a day of sitting by the lake with a great book.
The cottages and grounds are meticulously maintained and the owners ensured that we had all we needed for a great vacation.
As soon as we got home, we began planning for a winter vacation at Pine Place, Fire pits, snowmobiles and snow shoes await. We are really looking forward to going back to Pine Place on the Lake and experiencing this very special spot in the winter.
