We are a family of 13, grandparents with 2 adult children and their families. 7 children 3-10! The home is enormous, and perfect for the kids! Darling nautical bunk room, and fun room with 3 twins and a crib. Right across the hall from beautiful master suites for their parents! Grandma and grandpa got the first floor master! The pool is fabulous, and right down the private boardwalk is the ocean! Top shelf vacation for us all! And this was our first time in Kiawah! Hope to return and do it all over again❤️❤️❤️

Great family beach house. Only downsides were a hiccup with the pool (needed some attention and could not be used for a day and half), the property was frugally stocked (no coffee, very small shower soaps and no body wash, etc.) and very expensive.

It’s ready for an update. A few handles broken and lightbulbs out but otherwise good

Our third year staying oceanfront on Kiawah Island for spring break and this home was lovely. Great location and boardwalk to sunrises, walks and biking on the beach. Home is very pretty and very well-appointed with different style bedrooms for all family members (kids and adults). Pool is large. Ping pong and pool table were a hit as well.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property on beautiful Kiawah Island. We had our entire family together (4 adults couples) and our three grandchildren (with another on the way). The home is spacious and had all the amenities making the stay simple. The best features are the views of the Atlantic and the walkway to the beach. We biked, walked and ran on the beach, and our grandkids had fun playing in the sand. The manager was very accessible and responsive. We are not golfers, but realized that Kiawah Island is a golfers paradise. Overall great experience. Pricey but recommended if you can afford.

This stunning home truly exceeded our expectations for a recent family vacation with my parents and my siblings’ families to celebrate our dad’s birthday. We were 4 adult couples, 3 teenagers, and 4 kids under 10. Everyone had excellent room accommodations- no one had to take a “less than” room. The house is even better than it looks in the pics. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Gorgeous views and easy beach access. Bonus: we could watch our family members on the beach from the cozy living room.
Thanks to our host’s recommendations we had a wonderful meal prepared at the home by a chef service one night (excellent experience) and a family portrait photo shoot to memorialize our trip. (@charlotteelizabethphoto.com) This is a wonderful beach for kids. They even swam in the chilly Dec temps! One note: there are many stairs in this 4-story home that cannot be avoided. This was not a problem for us but important to know for those with limited mobility.
Our whole family was very impressed by the beautiful home and we hope to return. Thanks to our very responsive host!

This was a perfect house for our group of 5 couples. Each suite is amazing and fully equipped. Location is fantastic with great beach access. Amanda is a great host and very responsive to our questions and needs during our stay. Highly recommend.

We have been vacationing on Kiawah for more than 30 years and always enjoy the island. This time was also wonderful. The hostess, Amanda, was fabulous. The home was exceptional. Highly recommend this beautiful home and hospitality.

I can’t say enough about our stay at 140 Flyway. What an exceptional home. From the time we arrived the house felt like home and it was decorated so beautifully. We received detailed instructions to gain entrance and the necessary guidance for the home itself for our stay. The house was exceptionally clean, bathrooms fully equipped with clean towels, soap, etc. The kitchen, too, was equipped with dish ware, pots, pans, everything you would possibly need. The spacious living areas accommodated our party of 12 so comfortably. Lower level pool table /ping pong was a big hit with everyone. The virtual tour of the home was exact and truly exceeded our expectations. From grilling poolside to a short boardwalk stroll to
the beach where we enjoyed fabulous sunsets, we
couldn’t have found a better home for our family. A huge thank you to management for going above and beyond in helping us with some additional needs.
Look for us next year! Thanks

This was our second vacation in Kiawah and it will be hard to beat! This house is located smack on the beach with its own private boardwalk. This made coming and going to the beach very convenient with a toddler under 2! The views from every room are breathtaking. We had a total of 4 couples and, usually, one couple ends up with not the nicest room/bathroom/view. However, this house offered deluxe rooms and views for all of us! With even more from which to choose! The kitchen is perfect for cooking and the dining room was one of our favorite touches because the large round table allowed 8 of us to sit, eat and chat intimately. The great room was another family favorite because the high vaulted ceiling and panoramic windows made sitting in there a peaceful joy at any time of the day. Large, comfy chairs and couches provided nightly gatherings of games or movie nights. The pool table converts into a ping pong table which everyone also enjoyed. The host and/or property manager, Amanda, was very responsive and communicative from the get go. We loved our stay and cherish the memories we made there.

We have been coming to Kiawah for 4years and this was by far our best trip. The house was truly amazing with large living areas and bed rooms. The ocean views were spectacular and the private beach access was literally off the back porch. The property is one in a million.

Three generations of family ranging from ~2 to ~80 in age and a nanny, ~12 people total, stayed for a week. The photos hardly do justice to the grandeur of the place. Owners promptly addressed issues with the house when we arrived (light bulbs burned out, broken sofa leg, residual stickiness in the kitchen). A bit confusing how one of the basement children's bedrooms is framed in the online ad as a separate floor because it is a split level, but overall we deeply enjoyed the stay and would highly recommend/do it again. Very easy for each guest to enjoy each other's company when they want to and equally enjoy private, quiet time when needed. 5 stars!

As avid travelers, we have stayed in many properties over the years. 140 Flyway is one that we plan to return to for a variety of reasons. Our entire family of 6 guests had ample space to gather together or have the freedom and room to be independent. In planning our trip, Amanda was prompt with replies, flexible and accommodating.
This home has an ideal location with pristine interior and exterior details and features. The beach is within steps of the fabulous pool, which makes for an ideal setting. The quiet atmosphere allowed our family to feel as if this was a true escape.
The home was very clean, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Thank for allowing us to enjoy your hojme!

This is a lovely house with spectacular views from most rooms, lots of privacy in the bedroom arrangement and well designed living areas and outdoor spaces. The host was very responsive and helpful. We had a wonderful stay!

We stayed at the property for a few days after our Charleston wedding to unwind. It was spacious enough for family and some privacy. The location is superb, beach access is dreamy and sunsets (yes, east coast beach sunsets) were unreal. Checkin and out could not have been easier. Note there are no bikes or beach chairs, which we would have arranged in advance had we known. There are beach towels however!

We had 10 people stay at the house for 4 nights. Everything about the house and location were great. 5 king bedrooms were perfect for 5 couples plus the common places were large and comfortable. Everything was spotless. Beachfront location was ideal.

What can I say? The house delivered in every aspect. The home is beautiful and breathtakingly large. Could more than handle 4 families with little kids. The pool was great and beach access unparalleled. Loved that all the rooms were en suite and most had king beds with two rooms that were perfect bunk rooms for the kids. For many in our group it was the first time to Kiawah and the house just set the stage. Check in was no problem and communication with the house manager was easy and pleasant. We hope to be back again!

We have been coming to Kiawah since 1978 and we know the island well. This was the best house we have ever rented. We filled every room in the house and it never felt crowded. This house has a wonderful ocean front location with a private boardwalk to the beach. The house felt very private with elegant grounds and a very functional, well maintained pool. This was a perfect place for multi-generational family members and would be great for 5 couples who would all like a king suite with a pool or ocean view. The additional two children bedrooms are charming.Truly could be in a magazine. One has 4 twins and the other 3 twins and a crib. There was a selection of children books. The top level king suite though smaller had wonderful views. A previous poster said this suite got too warm but with outside temps of 80s and 90s no problem noted and thermometer set at 73. All bedrooms had private bathes and large closets. The house was structurally solid and very well sound proof.
Judi and Amanda were very helpful with questions and greatly impacted our vacation by recommending Brett McKee as a personal chef. We ate well indeed! We also appreciated the little touches they provided. They let us use the elevator for my elderly father and had it serviced prior to the arrival. I also asked to have the gas grill serviced and propane topped off prior to arrival. It was done without a blink. There are many steps on each level and though this did not impact us, it is not wheelchair friendly. My father fatigues easily and that made the elevator nice
There was a little quirk in the kitchen. I am 5'1" and I had to use a step stool to reach the microwave and reach many of the kitchen cabinets. The original owners must have been tall.
if you need a large house on Kiawah this is a house I would highly suggest. Absolutely exceeded expectations.

We've rented on Kiawah for many years, and this home has it all! Beautiful house, easily accommodated our large group, steps from the ocean, well equipped home and the host is extremely responsive. We had an amazing week!

Great location and property. This was our second stay.

This is our second time renting this home. The fact that we came back should say a lot to recommend it. In particular, it’s hard to imagine a better home for a large family where you all want to have some privacy and isolation along with lots of quality time together. There are great communal areas inside and out. And the views from the home and incredibly easy beach access on the relatively private side of the island make this a nearly perfect big-family vacation home.

Spacious family retreat
What a beautiful home with incredible views! We especially enjoyed the large round dining table- perfect for our group to gather together for meals. The layout provides space for families, plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for all. We spent hours enjoying the pool and beach. Would highly recommend this home.

Wonderful week with family!
This beautiful home has an absolutely amazing view and is located on a beautiful, uncrowded stretch of the beach. The layout of the home easily accommodated our group of 14. The decks, pool, easy access to the beach over the private boardwalk and backyard space was so nice. Owners were great to work with, responding to any questions quickly and positively. It is evident they care about their home and the experience of their quests! This was our first trip to Kiawah and the Vanderhorst Plantation, and we look forward to returning!

Family reunion paradise!
We could not have asked for a more perfect home for accomodating mine and my siblings families ages 13 to 89. Each room is beautifully decorated and spacious. The great room with the stunning view provided multiple seating opportunities for quiet sitting while others played cards in the dining area and others cooked in the kitchen. This home felt like home and we never felt we needed to fill our days with activities other than just enjoying the property. The easy access to the beach encouraged so many activities like viewing sunrise, surf fishing, bike riding and walking on the beach. The terrace level with the pool provided shaded and sunny sitting areas. The Owner was very responsive to any of our questions or needs during our stay. This is our favorite home that we have rented and we hope to be back again.

Wonderful home!
We had a wonderful time celebrating my parents 50th wedding anniversary here! There was plenty space for all 7 adults and 6 kids. The bedrooms were big, clean and comfortable. The property is beautiful and you can’t beat the view and beach access. One of our favorite parts was watching the birds fly by the large windows in the living room. I highly recommend this amazing home!!

Our Favorite Home at our Favorite Location
This the second time we have stayed at this outstanding home for our annual family vacation.
Our family of 16 (10 adults and 6 granddaughters under 6 years old) feels like "home" to us.
This home is beautifully decorated and equipped with all the items you could ever want. It is a large home with large common spaces but also private spaces to get away from the group.
The house managers Amanda and Buddy are super responsive for the few things that can come up in a stay.
We feel fortunate to stay in this home and will definitely return.

Lovely Week at the Beach
We spent a wonderful week at the beach in this beautiful home. Everything was as advertised and better. We were a family group - 3 generations all adults - and everyone from the youngest to the oldest was comfortable and found all the amenities they needed. The backyard outdoor spaces including decks, pool area and the private path to the beach made this our most favorite house that we have ever rented on Kiawah. The living room windows offer a remarkable view so even when it was too chilly for some to be outside they could still comfortably sit and look out over the ocean. We hope to be back in future years!

Best Trip Evah!
Six couples from the cold northeast arrived for a week of golf, tennis, beach, drinks, great meals etc. etc. and we were not disappointed. The home created the perfect setting for sun rise/sun set views, wonderful meals, pool and game time etc. etc. The home is well appointed to the point we didn't want to leave and were eager to come back to the home each day...highly recommend for a couples trip. Rooms are spacious and private.

Great Beachfront Property
The house was just as advertised and was a wonderful place to stay. We had 2 families with 4 adults and 7 kids and could have easily added another family given how much space there was. The property manager was very responsive and helpful and everything at the house worked great. Would love to come back to the house again!

Beautiful home in terrific location. The house is large and easily accommodated our party of 10. It was well appointed and despite its size, we all felt very comfortable. Location wise, you can’t beat it and the views were equally impressive.
