If you want to totally get away yet still be an hour from Denver, this is the spot. Everything about our stay was peaceful and filled with nature, and the house had everything we needed. Be sure to follow directions on how to get there snd don’t rely on your phone. The last few miles are on a dirt road with lots of washboarding.

I realize this is a cabin & not a house. When we arrived, things seemed great. We noticed that there was some mouse or other creature droppings in the kitchen area & spider webs with live spiders throughout. There were toys left strewn about & many moths along the baseboards. We eventually found an open water bottle & hair scrunchie on the floor above the master headboard. There was the smell of marijuana coming from the shed & trash strewn outside. Overall, not a great first impression, but tried to make the best of it. We had no water by the end of the 2nd day, which was compounded by us going hiking & being outside the entire day. We just wanted to get showers. We couldn't clean up from dinner either, which I'm sure didn't help the rodent issue. I spend the entire evening trying to get it to work. I messaged the owners late and didn't expect and answer until morning. We couldn't cook breakfast since we couldn't clean up. PB&J's for breakfast wasn't the plan. We couldn't flush the toilets & the house was starting to smell like and outhouse at this point. I kept working on the water issue all morning & throughout the day. I texted and left a VM for the owners. Their phone went straight to VM. I called VRBO in the afternoon since I was debating just leaving & calling our weekend a loss. Spoke with VRBO, they tried contacting the owners as well. I got a call back shortly afterwards at 1:39, but missed it since I was going back & forth with the water. The VM left wasn't much help. I decided to give it one last try & we actually got the water to work. Although, my moment of joy was short lived & it petered out shortly after. We did manage to get 2 showers in the meantime. It was later in the afternoon & the family was hungry, so I decided to cook on the grill that we brought. I was afraid of starting a fire & not having a way to put it out, but we needed to eat. Kept debating on working on water or just leaving. Completely wasted the day on trying to get water to work so we could at least have the basics. We decided to stay since it was a long day & late at this point. I intended to spend the weekend reconnecting with my family after a long summer & losing my dad in June. It was nothing close.I never went anywhere and said I needed a vacation before even leaving the place we left. I sent several messages to the owner & got a response on the 9th about being in contact soon. Haven't heard back since. Really frustrated & disappointed . Ref 28840774

Mountain Cabin
Overall location is great. Secluded and right on the Colorado Trail. The cabin was clean on the inside. We were not provided with a code to the front door to get in, and had difficulty connecting to host. The outside grounds of property needs work. It was comfortable, but could have been much nicer with a little work.

Colorado is Tuff
It was amazing, the cabin was the sweetest and just perfect for what we needed, close to trails and right in the wilderness! This was a great first trip to Colorado!

Great cabin right on the Colorado Trail and close to Buffalo Creek
This is my second stay at this property and each time it has been just as described in the listing. It's in a great location, just a few steps from hiking and biking trails, and near Wellington Lake, and offers very nice amenities (full kitchen, 2 bathrooms/showers, laundry, some outdoor activities) for a small group of people (1-8) who are focused on maximizing their fun time in the surrounding area. Definitely a hidden gem in the Bailey area.

Very secluded with beautiful scenery
If you’re looking for seclusion, this house is perfect!

Cozy cabin for all!
We had 5-6 with us and it was perfect! It was so nice to be secluded but not far from town. Loved seeing deer and elk on our drive to the cabin. You will see hikers in the morning behind the cabin which was amazing. Ideal location not far from Denver, Fairplay, and Golden. Bailey is the cutest little town, hope you can find Sasquatch!

Perfect for a family mountain adventure!
This cabin was perfect for our family for a weekend adventure in the mountains! We had a great time mountain biking and bouldering, can’t wait to go back again. Definitely a repeat get away.

Awesome mountain cabin
I've stayed at this cabin a few times now. The recent upgrades to the exterior (siding and paint) and interior (decor, upstairs fireplace) make it even better. We put in two big days of riding on the Buffalo Creek trails and it was so nice to go back to a comfortable cabin at day's end. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a Buff Creek adventure HQ.
