About this house rental
Enjoy your morning coffee or dinner al fresco on the spacious wrap-around porches of this light and breezy, fully-renovated house close to the Malecon in Esperanza.
Featuring a modern, fully-equipped gourmet kitchen with granite counters and stainless appliances, a gas stove, dishwasher, eat-in bar, and high ceilings with fans in every room, Casa de Pepito was designed to take full advantage of the prevailing breezes. Sleep soundly in either the Coqui room with king bed, dressing room and private bath, or the Tortuga room's queen bed with private bath, all furnished with pure cotton bedding and thick cotton towels. While the trade winds keep the house cool on most days, the bedrooms are air-conditioned for sleeping comfort on warmer nights.
Numerous fine restaurants, shops, bars and night life, a small grocery and local bakery, as well as water sport rentals and world famous Sun Bay Beach are just a short walk away. There is also a lovely park close by with a children's playground, adult workout equipment, a jogging path, picnic pavilions and public bathrooms.
Casa de Pepito is equipped with beach chairs, towels, umbrella, and coolers; beach toys and snorkel equipment; books, games, puzzles, a flat screen TV with a small DVD library, WiFi/Internet, and a CD player with a collection of CDs.
The two spacious bedrooms with en suite baths make this house ideal for 2 couples or a small family. And because you can walk to just about everything, you won't be stranded at home if someone else takes the car to a remote beach for the day. It's both the perfect central location to explore the island from, and the ideal place to just hang out on the porch reading, or stroll down to the waterfront for lunch, a drink, or a little shopping.

We loved this property and loved the island. We will definitely stay here again. The property manager, Linda, could not have been nicer or more helpful. The house has everything you need and is close to beach and restaurants. We rate our stay a 10 out of 10. LOVED EVERY MINUTE!!

We loved our stay here! Perfect location. Comfortable. Great for our small family. Property manager was responsive and helpful. We would definitely stay here again!

My sister, niece and I took a girls trip and we could not have imagined a better place today. Clean, cute and comfortable. The home is nice and airy with big bedrooms and bathrooms and an open kitchen/living room area for socializing. We loved sitting on the porch watching the horses and roosters. The location is 10 out of 10…. close to a market and a quick and safe walk to the Malecon. We plan to go back and will definitely stay here again. The owner and property manager were informative, friendly and responsive. If you want a no stress experience, we recommend you stay here! Thank you for an awesome week.

We had a great time at the island. It was nice being just up the road from the main restaurant area but not so close we could hear it at night. We appreciated the fans/a/c for comfort but also to try and block out the roosters that roam and make noise all night. We loved the beach stuff we could use and enjoyed the beautiful beaches each day. Catherine was so helpful for any help we needed!

It's been a while since we were here. This was our 1st time on the Esperanza side. Great location. Walking distance to everything

Convenient location. Short walk to town. Very large and well appointed. Great for 2 couples. Do not recommend for people who want quiet. Roosters are loud all morning and neighbors dogs bark quite a bit. We are not bothered by these things, so we had a fantastic stay enjoying all the beautiful scenery of Vieques..

The house layout was perfect for two couples. Comfortable living area and kitchen as well as bedrooms. There was always an ocean breeze which enabled us to sit out on the porch whenever we wanted to. We walked to the Malecón restaurants at night. House manager was very attentive to solving a few issues we needed help with.

A perfect location with all the necessary amenities and super clean!! I appreciated all the extra bathroom towels too! The space was ideal for traveling with our two kids, having two full bathrooms was ideal. The kitchen was perfectly sized and we were able to cook Christmas dinner without a problem. There are helpful notes all over the house - like for fan and light switches, and the quirkiness of the refrigerator. So great to have access to laundry and being external to the house meant not having to hear the noise of the machines.
Being around the corner from Lydia’s was a godsend! I was in there picking up odds and ends regularly. And while easy enough to walk everywhere in Esperanza, we did rent a car so the off street parking was also hugely appreciated.
One note to first time travelers to Vieques - roosters crow non-stop all day and wild horses are everywhere including sometimes jumping over the fence into the yard. I successfully shooed them away twice but keeping the gate closed is essential to discouraging them.
The external photo makes it look like there are a lot of stairs to get to the first floor but it was just a regular stair stoop which was a relief!
Catherine is quick to respond and had tons of helpful info for us prior to arrival. Linda (property manager) was great with communication and helpful tips on restaurants and beaches.
We could not have had a better stay! I waited too long for a return trip to Vieques and can’t wait to stay here again!

This property was beyond our expectations! Location was a block from a grocery and two blocks from the boardwalk. The property had beach towels, chairs and snorkel gear and all of the necessities. The property manager was there upon arrival and provided excellent information about the island and the rental. If in Vieques again, I would 110% rent again.

Great property close to restaurants/bars/beaches. We rented a golf cart to explore the other side of the island also, perfect for what we wanted to do. Communication with the property manager and owner were great. Would definitely recommend- Vieques is beautiful!!

This home is centrally located in Esperanza, the smaller Vieques town. Large, clean front lawn leads into a well appointed and supplied 2 bedroom, 2 bath home.
All good! Location, manager, supplies all get a 5 star rating. Loved my stay and will return again.

The house is clean ,spacious & has plenty of necessities available that you may have forgotten to pack like sunblock. Restaurants, bars & the beach are literally 3mins to reach,so close. Being on the south side of the island is the place to be! The house has a washer & dryer so it was convenient to keep clothes clean. The manager was very friendly & made sure we had a comfortable stay. Definitely will be booking this one again! Highly recommend!

A really nice place in a great location. A quiet neighborhood (except for roosters), with just a short walk to restaurants and convenient store.
The beds were comfy and the porch was great for meals.
However communication with the owner was slow and there were several small issues. The dishwasher was locked and the instructions on its door didn't work. Both bedside lamps wouldn't turn on. There was some peeling paint on the ceiling and a pile of rusting railing in the front yard.
These are all minor things probably the result of an absentee owner. We would still recommend this property for a great vacation.

The location of this property is excellent. The owner and property manager were very responsive to any questions we had and ensuring our stay was as comfortable as possible.

This was a great place for two couples. Able to walk to great restaurants. Would stay here again.

It was our first trip to Vieques, and we didn’t really know where to stay on the island. We picked the right spot. The house is in a quiet neighborhood, only a short walk to the Malecon. The house offers everything you could possibly need, and we felt safe and comfortable with our 3 young children. We will absolutely return and will stay here again.

This little abode was sweetly located in a quiet neighborhood with a small grocery store just around the corner and a 10 minute walk to the Malecon. The veranda was lovely and the kitchen and house had everything we needed for the 3 weeks we spent there. (Washer, grill, blender, etc) we rented a golf cart and the 4 adults got around all parts of the island and numerous beaches without issue. The appeal of vieques is the lack of abundant development. Roosters cats and horses everywhere!
4.8
The neighborhood is quiet and family centered with access to local beach and town center.

This house was perfect for us. We have stayed there before and likely will again. Two large bedrooms each with a large modern bathroom. The kitchen had enough room to easily prepare meals and the living room was comfortable. But the best part was the veranda that surrounded the house where we has coffee, happy hour and ate many meals.
The house is easy walking distance to the Malecon, the water, the restaurants/bars and a small grocery store.

Casa pepito was nice and very clean, perfect location at puerto esperanza...just 5-7 minutes walking to esperanza beach, close to the restaurants and food store, we stayed there for 4 nights but we really didn't spent too much time at home, just taking breakfast and coming back at night for sleep, most of the time driving around the island knowing the beautiful beaches and nature...home was perfect/ok for a family of 4, good a.c (only on bedrooms), quiet neighborhood, not problem at all. Thank you so much to provided the delicious coffee to me, I like the terrace of the house. Dryer and washer machine working ok but need some update, Definitely I would stay again.

I stayed here with my 11 year old daughter for 5 days. The property is nice, just needs a little bit of upkeep. The area is very nice, walkable to the restaurants, grocery store and the malecon. It is in a local neighborhood so you feel part of the community. The owner and the manager are very nice and helpful.

Nice location
Nice location and close to restaurants and grocery store. Big front yard with beautiful tree overlooking baseball field. Comfortable house with large porch. Comfortable beds and nice large showers in both rooms. Catherine is a great host and set up transportation for us from the ferry. Our driver told us a little about the island on the way to the property which was nice since it was our first time to Veiques. Catherine made some recommendations for us and checked in during our stay. We would love to stay here again.

we had a great stay and would come back. Myself and my two sons had a wonderful time here. We loved walking to the Malecon and through the cute neighborhood under the mango trees and along the beach. Wonderful location, great yard and very comfortable home. Catherine, the owner was so responsive and helpful and her property manager was so friendly and helped make the stay even better.

Comfortable, great location. Two blocks up from the Malecon and shoreline. Quiet neighborhood. Large porch to enjoy the sea breeze.

We enjoyed our stay at Casa Pepito, which was clean and had a great porch and pretty yard. The beds are very comfortable (except the pullout bed). My teenage daughters were happy to be in town so they could walk down to the beach and Malecon by themselves. The owner and property manager were very responsive. Was great to have air conditioning and laundry. It is next to a port-o-let storage place, which created some excitement one day as they loaded up all the toilets to take somewhere. The roosters are incredibly loud from about 4:30 to 6:30 am, making the air conditioning important for sound muffling. So sweet to see little chicks about, though.

Lovely home. Just what we were looking for. Just a short walk to restaurants. An adventure everyday finding new beautiful beaches. Loved seeing the horses everywhere. Roosters were noisy but that was expected. Enjoyed having baseball field across the street. Thank you

Ok
House is next to a distributor of port o let’s. Roosters crowed us awake every morning. House and furnishings a bit dated. Very hot and sunny walk into town but this is nowhere near a beach. We heeled every day to a beach. Host was very pleasant and helpful

A part of the island community
We loved our stay here because it felt like we were part of the Vieques community. The house is set back from the road so there's plenty of space and the large porch was a highlight. We love the vibe and noise of Vieques so we appreciated being in the neighborhood and within walking distance to the Malecon.

Beautiful little home to truly experience the island from.

We didn’t have a perfect stay, with a multi day water outage, but everyone was so helpful! I would definitely rent from Catherine again. Thanks!!

We stayed in this beautiful home for 5 days last week. We did not book a car and thought we would regret it but we did not. With a little planning and patience utilizing the local taxis will suit you just fine. We did not venture out far though because Esperanza pretty much has it all. The home was a short 4-5 minute walk to the shoreline and a very picturesque ocean front. The grocery store was a 2 minute walk away. The local people were friendly and the community is for the most part quiet except for the occassional rooster crowing. There is wildlife in the area so if you like chickens running around they are aplenty. If you like horses they are roaming free as well just be sure to close the gate. Best bio-luminescent bay in the world, 20 min walk to the nicest beach on the island that has showers and bathrooms. This was a fabulous place to stay and we would go back tomorrow!
