My girlfriend and I spent last week at this property and found it to be exactly as it was described. It was a cozy "honeymoon suite" overlooking beautiful Long Lake and situated in a perfect location convenient to Buttermilk falls and the center of town. The owners were cordial and happy to answer any questions.I highly recommend this cabin and hope to return in the future.

4th time and still excited to be there. Great location and hosts! Great fishing this year

This cottage was so nice, great location, clean and close to all attractions. We have stayed in a few places in the Adirondacks and we will most defiantly come back. The owner greeted us which was nice and we had a bonus when he offered wood for the campfire. My husband LOVES to build campfires. Perfect place for couples and to unplug. May the Adirondacks always stay pristine and untouched.

Hilary greeted us and was so nice, she even gave us ketchup which we somehow forgot! The cabin has great lake views and everything we needed, Unfortunately we had to cut our trip 2 nights short because of an emergency at home but we did get to go out kayaking once and it was beautiful. Thank you for a short but sweet stay!

The Honeymoon cabin was clean and adequate. We enjoyed the simplicity of it. Richard came over when we arrived and when we left. Black flies did their damage on us when we hiked up Owl’s Head trail. Would go back but maybe after July when they are gone.

Beautiful location withthe screened porch overlooking Long lake with easy access to the dock. Friendly and helpful owners.

We loved the screened porch. Cottage was very clean. Lake is beautiful , buttermilk falls around the corner are a MUST see. We did miss a kayak or canoe , would have been nice to paddle around a bit

We had a wonderful time. The hosts were great and very accommodating. Richard was very knowledgeable about the local fishing that led us to some memorable catches. The dock was perfect for the rented boat and very convenient. View out the kitchen window was amazing every morning.

We loved the cabin. Just right size for 2 with beautiful views of the lake. We had a problem renting a canoe with the local marina. It would be convenient if the owners provided some type of water craft to be able to get on the water.

This was our second year staying at this cottage. We love pretty much everything about it. The cabin is small and rustic, but very clean with good amenities. It is situated right on the bank of Long Lake with a spectacular view from the kitchen and screened in porch. The porch really makes the place ideal for relaxing in the morning and evening, especially during bug season. We had access to the dock to enjoy the water and afternoons in the sun.
The location is perfect for accessing the town of Long Lake or for taking short excursions to Blue Mountain Lake or North to Eaton and Tupper.
Our hosts are great people who were very welcoming and helpful. This is a great place if you want to unwind and enjoy the Adirondacks to their fullest.

A great place to view nature without the bugs of a June rainy season. The screened in porch overlooking the lake was much appreciated as was the responsiveness of our hosts

The screened in porch is heavenly, overlooking Long Lake and the loons. The owner greeted us and he was very welcoming. He assured us he was nearby if we needed anything but everything was just great. We picked a winner. Thanks so much.

This property is a gem. It has everything you need, and nothing you don't. The view alone was worth the stay. I enjoyed watching the rain roll through from the sleeping porch and relaxing in the sunshine on the beach and dock. This was a perfect spot to take out our canoe and SUP. Everything was very clean. We had our two year old son with us and he loved playing in the woods next to the property. He also loved Richard's golf cart :-)
Richard was communicative, friendly and helpful.

This property is super adorable, clean, with amazing views of the lake. Within a minute, you are right on the dock, ready to swim or soak up the sun. Our hosts were really friendly with their cute pooch ready to greet you :). We definitely recommend.

We have now stayed at Richard and Hillarie's property four or five times, and each time we stay we're just as excited to come back as we were for our first visit. The peaceful Adirondack atmosphere, the perfect location right on the lake, the friendly and welcoming hosts...we couldn't ask for a better experience. We love the Honeymoon Cottage, and can't wait for our stay next year!

This was a fabulous little long lake lodge for a couples getaway - close to great hiking and we launched our kayaks and paddleboards right on the little beach out front. Just can’t say enough about how charming this spot is what a splendid location to watch the sunset and enjoy the morning sky over the lake… hosts were on the property nearby and Very accommodating to any needs ! Would definitely return …

Perfect lakefront retreat
I would say that is property exceeded our expectations. The cabin is perfectly situated on the lake with a beautiful view from the kitchen, porch and picnic area. The description provided is very accurate. The cabin is rustic but well cared for and clean. There is a walk down to the dock but having the view above makes it all worthwhile. Our hosts were very accommodating and responsive to any questions. We love Long Lake and the surrounding area for hiking and kayaking so we thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet. We hope to go back again next summer!

Everything was exactly as expected and nice owners obviously care for the property. Not the best weather but enjoyed the views and activities in the area. Gorgeous lakefront view and nice beach. Cooked with grill and fire pit. Hope to come back when it's warmer! Super cozy cabin and everything you need is right there. So peaceful and quiet that the rainy weather still made it better than a good day at work! Really nice place to stay. Thanks to Richard and Hillarie.

What a fantastic find! We booked last minute for Memorial Day Weekend, and WOW how lucky we were! Absolutely perfect cabin on the lake, with the most gorgeous views! Perfect size for the 2 of us, everything is exactly as stated on the listing. Oven cooks very well, full size fridge, there were a few basic items in the kitchen which was great, we didn’t really need much. Evenings by the fire pit with those gorgeous views were just what we needed though. We grilled burgers and steaks right over the fire pit instead of the gas grill, turned out wonderful, as did the s’mores! We loved the property set up, what a cool place! Even though there are other houses, we felt secluded enough for sure! We rented a boat in town, very inexpensive, went fishing, came back to the cabin and tied up at the dock for lunch. Went back out and fished and cruised the lake all day, we highly recommend this, the lake is enormous and so beautiful! I really don’t know how to say it enough, it was just so picturesque, just perfect.
A few tips:
Lots of tiny black flys (gnats) around the lake everywhere, our bug spray didn’t seem to help at all. And they bite. We saw someone with a hat and a net that came down their face (like a beekeeper), that was genius lol.
Tub is high, was difficult to get out of, so if you have mobility or agility challenges, this would be a bit too much for you. Same with path way down to the dock in the lake, it’s a little steep, until you get to the stairs. It was fine for us, just letting other potential guests know what to expect.
There was a Stewart’s gas station, a couple of country stores where you can get all the staples, and ice cream shop, a marina, a liquor store and maybe a small restaurant or two, that’s pretty much all we saw, we didn’t want to drive around much. Seems like a sleepy area, very quiet, exactly what we wanted.
Buttermilk Falls was so close by, I recommend checking that out if you are physically able too. Very pretty waterfall, picnic tables nearby, but again, the little flies were almost unbearable this time of year.
A huge thank you to the owners for allowing us to experience their little piece of Heaven there, very friendly people, and we can’t wait to go back!

We booked our stay at Honeymoon cottage during the beginning of "leaf peeper" season and we were not disappointed! The countryside was ablaze with color, and it was just lovely.
The cottage was great - quite spacious for two; good location to the town of Long Lake; and right on the water. There were some issues with the heating and Richard got right on it.
It is a great place to stay for your visit to the Adirondacks!

Location!
The best view on Long Lake from the porch! We had stayed at this property many years ago and loved it. We were happy to see it modernized while keeping the same ADK character!

Lost for words. Perched over the most pristine lake. Sunrises, great views, sunsets, repeat! Perfect cottage in every way. Every space from the dock on the lake to the fire pit to the bathroom and tub was alluring and perfect! There were just two of us on our first romantic sojourn. Well exceeded our expectations, or better said, “it’s the best we could do!”😁😁😁
