About this house rental
We have owned this home for 20 years and have made our home very relaxing and special for our guest. We provide everything you would need with exceptions of food, clothing and toothpaste/brush, hence the name Home A Wave From Home. We offer freshly made beds upon your arrival as well as an abundance of towels in each bathroom. No need to pack beach towels, we have plenty. Four of our five bedrooms offer smart TV’s, King size beds and outside access to the decks , the crows nest and ocean views. The bunk room provides a smart TV, four twin beds as well as a trundle and access to its own deck with views of the Seascape golf course. We have a game room that provides a pool table, air hockey and foos ball as well as darts and numerous board games. We have a media room stocked with many movies for entertainment on rainy days. This room also has two day beds if extra beds are needed. We have 10 bikes, a beach cart, and beach chairs with umbrellas. We offer a private pool, heated optional and a covered outdoor kitchen with a hot tub. This is a great area for entertaining and we have had weddings on location. Our third floor kitchen, dining, and living room area provides open area living with ocean views. We also have a high chair, 2 pack & plays and 2 roll away beds if needed. Great space for the entire family. The back yard area is fenced in separately from the pool. There are also fun climbing trees in this area. The beach is a 7-10 minute walk.

This was our 18th year coming to OBX, the prior house we had rented we stayed in for 12 years so switching this year to this property was a huge deal for us. We are soooo happy we switched. This house was amazing. The pool and outside area were fabulous. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was stocked way beyond what we could have imagined. We loved it so much that we are coming again next year. The owners were great to work with and communicated quickly with questions we had.

We stayed for a week in July and had a fabulous time. Very central location, it’s easy to get anywhere. The golf course being right there is very beautiful. The pool is delightful and fun and the backyard cabana area is perfect. I appreciate the abundance of towels, it was great not to pack any. Wish we could have stayed longer!

The house and property are very large, we had a group of 9 people and it was a very comfortable stay. The pool is great and the area around it very welcoming. The open floor plan between the kitchen, dining area and living room really makes it enjoyable and very easy to entertain. It was a short walk to a very nice section of beach (i would say about 7 to 8 mins). There are stores close by but the house is in a relatively quite section of the island in-between strip malls on the main road. The kitchen is stocked with many utensils and appliances (2 air fryers and a kitchen aid mixer to note) which was really great when it came time to make food!

Property is very well maintained and close to lot of fun activities, unique eating places, and the beach! House is well supplied with all of the necessities. Heated pool is a plus at the time of year that we were there. Owners were great to communicate with and all check in and check out procedures were laid out and easy. Would definitely highly recommend this area in Kitty Hawk and this property!

I wanted a place depending on weather conditions that could keep a group of teenagers gamefully occupied. This more than fulfilled that with the pool table, air hockey, foosball, and slot machine as well as numerous board games. Enjoyed the bikes to ride down to the beach nearby as well. When it was time to stay in for a little bbq, enjoyed the pool and hot tub to relax. From beginning to end the owner responded quickly to any questions because truth be told there were no concerns at all! A very enjoyable stay for the whole family from the oldest to the youngest! Definitely a place i would look to stay in again!

Our family had high expectations for a fun-filled week in OBX. Not only were our expectations met, they were far surpassed. The accommodations and amenities such as the size of the home, the private bedroom & balconies, the well-stocked kitchen, the game room & swimming pool as well as a garage full of beach equipment provided something for everyone. The entire family expressed how much they enjoyed the accommodations and all of the fun that was had during our stay. If you're looking for a good time at OBX, we would highly recommend this home.

The outside space was really great and spacious. Odd there was no furniture on the decks of the house to sit on though. The sky deck needed some care. The surface cleaning was good, but the windows, ceiling fans, and air returns were not clean. The living room and kitchen space was also great. We’ll set-up for a large group and the kitchen was well stocked and many extra’s. The bedroom in the basement with the window air conditioner was a little musty, but thankful the air conditioner worked well. The bikes in the picture were not in good working order. We were able to use 2. WARNING: I missed there was no elevator, and all week with all 3 floors, became a bit tiresome. Also for checkout you have to wash ALL towels and put them back. That was a first for us.

We absolutely loved the house. It was stocked with all the necessities and more (kitchen ware, spices, garbage bags, beach gear, pool toys). The walk to the beach was about 10 minutes. The pool and hot tub were gorgeous. The beds were very comfortable and we loved having a bunk room for all the kids. We had a lovely stay. Please note that all towels must be washed and put away before departure or you'll be charged.

The house was amazing! The pool time we shared making memories was also incredible! The kids got to see dolphins swimming in the ocean. It was just wonderful for all 14 of us be able to get together in one house.

We had an amazing time at the Sea scape, the property was clean and had pretty much everything you’d need on your vacation. The host answered our our inquiries quickly and everyone in our family commented how beautiful the house was. Definitely recommended.

We thoroughly enjoyed this property. The house was well stocked/equipped which was so nice! Plenty of bedrooms, fun basement for the kids/teens to play in. We went in Nov, so pool was closed but hot tub was hot and ready when we arrived. Beautiful kitchen equipped with everything! Property backs up to a main road, so heard some road noise, but a quick and easy walk to the beach. We will be back!

We loved the house it was great we would use again. Had plenty of house hold items to use and loved the space . But it needs some TLC .with a few things . I wish the owner would actually be the one addressing the issues and actually do a walk through as if it was their home .Needs to be cleaned better in certain areas the air vents all over especially in living area very dirty all I could think was we were breathing that in. The plastic runner on stairs is a hazard its torn and hanging in spot the little ones trip on it .Outside grill area was not cleaned at all hasn't been in a while it was pretty dirty but we cleaned it. Some of games in game room not working . The railings around deck not very stable worried anyone being up there . Insect problem at times in house ! We did have a great time and did enjoy the house and pool and hot tub overall.

Our vacation was AWESOME! The house had plenty of room, the pool was fantastic and the fact that there were bikes readily available at the house for our teens to use was great! The beach chairs provided were also very convenient. It was that much less we had to pack or rent while there. We had a few issues, but the property owner was VERY responsive and took care of anything we needed.
The only negative was when the cleaning company had to come back to check something in two of the bathrooms and the time they chose to come with no advance warning, there were individuals in both bathrooms showering, the individual from the cleaning company certainly was not very pleasant, acted like we were inconveniencing her.
But again, the owner was very responsive and took care of the few concerns we had.

Thank you for letting us stay at your well supplied house. We had an enjoyable time. Suzanne was wonderful to answer our questions and always responded right away. The kitchen was well supplied.
The only things that was not a plus we had wait outside in the hot sun an hour till the ladies were done cleaning . Over all it’s a great place to stay.

The space and layout of the house was fabulous, but it really needs a good cleaning and some updates/repairs both inside and out. The process with booking and communication with owner was great.

Family Vacation
I just want to thank Terry and Suzanne for their beautiful home we stayed in. We had brought all our children and Grandchildren, our first Family vacation together. We really loved the house! When we got there, we were in awe!!! The house is just beautiful! Terry and Suzanne made it so easy for us. The kitchen was stocked with spices, pots and pans, even a crockpot! Which we actually used because we cooked a lot during our stay . Being in this house made it feel like home! Hoping to come back again with the family. Thank you so much!

Family fun!
We loved staying here. I have 3 children, 1-6 years old. We loved the location, the house, the pool, hot tub, and yard. One downside is proximity to the golf range, a ball almost hit my head , there was occasional hits to the house. Since I have a 1 year old who is down on the floor all day playing, I found a few dust bunnies, but otherwise the home was very clean! We will return happily! We forgot items and Mrs Back was gracious to hand deliver forgotten items! Top knotch.

Family vacation with kids and grandkids
Overall, the house is great for a large group (with 5 kids that ranged from 2 - 9) with plenty of room. The kitchen was well stocked with all the amenities. The Hot tub was great, clean and well kept.
The one suggestion I would make is to have a laminated page of instructions (as reminder for cleaning, trash, check out info) all in one place to include TV instructions. Owners very responsive to questions. Just found it hard to get into VRBO through phone to check emails for responses. I could have done a better job of keeping phone number and email separate so as not to have to go into site from phone. No one brought laptops or Ipads!

Wonderful Christmas stay!
It was a wonderful time spending with family. Aside from the road noise and distance from beach we enjoyed the home and amenities immensely! The hot tub was wonderful and even got cleaned while we were there! The neighbors are super friendly and helpful!!

Fellas Golf Trip

Great stay with the family
Overall, we had a great stay at this house. We were able to get all 12 of us together for the first time in years and stay on this great property. The pool and hot tub were clean and ran well. Even in October the pool was warm enough for us to get out and swim on three different days of our stay.
The only issues that we saw were some minor misses by the cleaning crew. After speaking with the owners, they handled and resolved the issues quickly and made it 100% right by us. The owners were great all the way from reservation to check-out and have a great house. No doubt in my mind that they will take care of anybody who is there and there won’t be issues.
We would definitely stay on this property again, and any other property these guys own.
