We loved our time in your well-loved home! We would recommend this house for a Stowe, VT stay to any other family traveling together. It was the perfect amount of space for our group to enjoy time together, but also have our own spaces to enjoy during downtime. Looking forward to visiting Stowe again very soon.

House is clearly dated and had a 70s feel to it. We enjoyed our stay and did everything that was asked of us for check out.
To our surprise the next day the owner sent me accusing text messages of having a dog in the house. She claimed it cost her an additional 200 to clean the "feces off the carpet" and her only proof of a dog was a small clump of mud (outside the front door mind you) smaller than a dime. She charged my credit card 450 even though she claimed it was 200 extra. She would not respond to me and basically just stole from my card on file. I have been fighting this for months now and it is ridiculous. We paid 350 for a cleaning fee and was charged an additional 450 for 3-5 muddy footprints (as it was 50 and raining out). This is wrong and theft.

Six mid 60s high school friends enjoyed our stay here. Great location. After a full day of skiing all you want is a quick drive back to wind down. The house was quiet, clean and comfortable and is really big. We enjoyed a fire each night finding no reason to go out go out. The game room down stairs was well used. The host is quick to respond and the house is exactly as noted in the description. We would return here again.

When it came to the laid out of the property was practical except the main dinning room
When it came to the kitchen was disappointing because it wasn't properly cleaned and there's only 3 frying pans and no pots, when you renting a house for 10 people 3 frying pans isn't enough to cook a meal I never had this problem before plus like i mentioned before the kitchen is not clean on the base of the bottom cabinets there some dusty spider web and just came with few kitchen utensils. The master bedroom there are some trash from other people under the bed and night stands
The master bathroom really wasn't clean either especially the shower there's soap built up on walls and floor tiles I didn't look on the rest of the house to safe myself from feeling that should clean before my gest would arrive but they did make comments about the cleaning and there weren't good eather
What ever company or person that this property is using for cleaning it needs more training on detail cleaning
I have never in the past had this problem before so I just have to believe that this property is an isolated incident other than that we enjoy ourselves

We could not believe our luck when we found this house on VRBO! We had never skied Stowe before and finding such a reasonably priced home made the expensive lift tickets easier to budget for!
The home is exactly as listed. The house is homey and very comfortable. The stunning views of the mountain are impressive. The beautiful fireplace is a must in a home like this and we had a great fire every night. We loved the pool table and game room, I honestly felt like I had traveled back in time to some of my favorite 1980's ski trip memories!
We were only a small group but there are plenty of comfy beds for everyone in your group. We loved the king sized bed with the en suite bathroom. All bathrooms had lots of fresh towels.
We were just minutes from Stowe which was fantastic. We even had a lovely little storm while we were there which brought in several inches of fresh snow. We ate dinner at the Matterhorn twice which is quintessential Stowe Apres Ski!!
Joyce was extremely responsive to all my questions and made this stay so easy. This trip honestly felt like we had borrowed a friend's house for the weekend, just such a welcoming atmosphere.

This was exactly what we were looking for. Plenty of space and close to the mountain and all restaurants. Will be booking this again in the future.

Great comfortable house with plenty of room.

Stowe is one of the few places which a white Christmas is guaranteed. Because of this, I researched many properties.
I made the right choice.
The house is in an amazing area of expensive, snow inspired homes. Very private and quiet with a direct view of the ski trails of Stowe Mountain. The house is as close to Stowe Mointain you can get without staying there. The main living room. Is huge and 180 degrees of glass. The fire place is equally as big and we had a fire going the entire time.
The bedrooms were great and two rooms have two bunk beds in each room. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need negating the need for an emergency run to the store to try and find a kitchen utensil.
I could go on and on but I just want to mention the one negative experience: THE OTHER REVIEWS!
I read a few reviews which gave me pause and almost stopped me from booking the house. There is no mold, none. I couldn't find rust in the bathrooms (what ever that means). The house is not drafty but warm and well built. The biggest complaint was the dated decor. To those complaints - cry me a river. The pictures are accurate and there's no surprises. On Christmas day my mom, 2 adult kids and myself sprawled out on the monster red couch and watched football. Thank God there wasn't an expensive, cheaply made McCouch that looked expensive but couldn't get comfortable on.
If the decor isn't for you there are many comparable properties in the area with updated, Instagram inspired furniture for $1000 a night.
Pleaee trust me - book this place.

We were comfortable with location and enjoyed our family trip. We just had to work through the fact that the furnishings were old and seemed like maybe needed some tlc. It is just not pleasing to see rust in bathroom, etc. Our host seems very nice. Quick to respond about not having coffee pot.

The location is nice and scenic, plus convenient to much of the Stowe attractions. However, the carpeting is dirty/stained, and the bathroom & shower facilities are so-so. Furniture is outdated, faded, and uncomfortable. Despite all that, it was a warm, relaxing environment at the end of a long day. Our overall recommendation: update the entire lodge, plus replace carpeting and furniture.

Comfortable, and spacious! Could use an update (70's/80's motif) but so could just about every home we've stayed in, including ours!
Pros: Lots of room, and tv's everywhere (the real bonus for us was that she has Direct tv and so do we, so there was no learning curve to operate!) Quiet and secluded. lot but still close to everything.
Cons: Could use new kitchen cabinets, at the very least.. Needs a coffee maker (8-12 cups) needs more silverware, only two forks and spoons! for some reason the knobs were missing off of several of the lamps and dimmers. No secure way to lock up for the night, other than the mud-room door, which is kinda flimsy. There is a beautiful heavy wooden door that leads into the house from the mudroom but there is no key for the deadbolt and the knob inside for the deadbolt is (like many of the lamps and wall fixtures) missing or broken. But these Cons are minor, we just wanted to be honest about everything. Overall this is a super home! We had an awesome time and would recommend it to anyone!
Thank you, Joyce!

When we got there there were floor fans running full blast in every room. The smell of mold was obvious. The furniture was filthy. One of the bedroom windows was broken and wide open. It would not shut. It was 47% outside and freezing on anode. The floor was busted up on several places. The hot tub shown in the pictures did not work.
Myself and another person in my party are very allergic to mold and had trouble breathing right away. It was obvious that we could not stay there.
It was close to 9:30 pm when we arrived there. We were in a panic. We didn’t know how we would find some where else to stay at that late hour. I was able to reach the owner. She ask me to send her the pictures of the house that I took. She also said that if we could find another place to stay she waited fully refund our money. Luckily we were able to find somewhere else to stay. I have not been able to reach the owner since this conversation. I have text her asking for our money back. I have also sent her messages on VRBO asking for our refund. I have it heard back from her. Please help.

Not what we expected. Needs a deep cleaning including windows. Couch needs replacing, has been abused. More suited for large ski party group. Owner was responsive to calls and reservation and check in process was fine.

Having been married in 1978 the decor was very familiar. Served our need very well. Would suggest summer renters bring a few fans. Hot days in the open space upstairs will not cool with just the few fans provided on site. Oils have been great if the house was opened and the deck set up the day before we arrived.
Great location, beautiful surroundings.

We had a great experience overall and the house is big, clean, and in a beautiful location. Everything was as advertised and next time I am up at Stowe, I would definitely hope to rent here again! Thank you for sharing your house with us!

This property was good, however it was not cleaned after the former tenants and was a mess. The cleaners came and did a great job preparing the house for us. Well located, hot tub was wonderful and the decor out dater but very functional.

We were excited to spend Thanksgiving in Stowe and enjoy the mountain views from this house. To our disbelief, when we showed up at the house, there was plastic sheeting covering the deck sliding doors completely blocking the view. Clearly there is an issue with these sliding doors. At a minimum the listing needs to inform renters that there is no view and you will be living in a construction site. What's really disappointing is that the owner reached out to us regrading the internet was down but did not communicate that there is work being done on the house.

The house was perfect. We had a group of 4 couples and everything was great. Joyce was easy to work with and answered all questions very quickly. We would definitely stay again.

I would not recommend staying here. Upon arrival we discovered poop in a bedroom. The owner was able to get the cleaning crew to come and address the issue. The carpet throughout the whole house is very stained/dirty and so is the large red couch in the family room. A section of the carpet downstairs was ripped up and area rugs were put down. We were looking forward to the hot tub but didn’t use it because we were scared of what we might discover. The house has such potential but needs a few updates and a top to bottom proper cleaning.
4.1
Strongly recommend that you do not rent this property. This house does not appear to have any new updates or maintenance since 1983. There were several problems and broken systems including: ice machine in refrigerator does not work, rotten planks in the deck and all around the house, non-functioning windows, clogged shower drain, unclean hot tub, overgrown grounds and garden, holes in ceiling with fiberglass insulation poking out, stained carpet with random chucks ripped out. The host did not respond to any requests to address issues and instead took some of my security deposit for cleaning fees.
The location is good.

Enjoyed the space and location that this property had to offer for a long weekend getaway in Stowe with my family. The house was comfortable and well-located with great hiking, food, and breweries close by. The kids loved spending a hot afternoon at the pool and the adults enjoyed the hot tub at night. The host was very responsive when we reached out with questions. Thanks for the great stay!

Worst place we have ever stayed on VRBO >10 yrs, 2-3 vacations/yr and we have even gone internationally with great success. Brown food smear on bedsheets (?chocolate hopefully) with cracker smashed into beds, old soap and razor blades in shower, trashcan with trash already in it AND beneath the liner, rotting mouse in an old hot tube which smelled up the lower level (we have pictures), kids got bacterial skin infection and outer ear infection from hot tub (per pediatrician). Then charged $300 for cleaning fee (after we vacuumed and cleaned surfaces, started laundry, emptied ALL beds since they were clearly not cleaned prior to our visit). Accused of having a fictitious dog having peed on the floor (we don't own a dog), and extra people in the house (we took the sheets off for the cleaning staff to wash bc they were clearly NOT washed when we arrive, so that translated into a full house???). Used sheets on the sofa bc it was stained and also sun bleached (nothing like the photo). This is a scam to make money... either from the cleaner or the house owner. Not sure. After owner charged us we told her the state of the rental and she just stated over and over that we had a dog that peed and we abused her property. This is a total scam. She has a large family that likely writes in reviews. No way this place would get good review otherwise. Also, key is on lockbox so who knows how many people can come and go.... take stuff or do things that you will be held accountable for. Just pass on this one.

We were there for a long weekend of mountain biking and this house was perfect for that. Great location in Stowe with plenty all kinds of good riding in the area. The house had plenty of room for the 7 of us. We cooked a lot while we were there and and the kitchen had every thing we needed and the grill was brand new and worked great. The house is a little dated on the inside however that was not an issue for us, it was clean and everything worked.
