The white sand beach is quiet and beautiful, lined with palm trees, and other hotels are visible but blend in fairly well with trees. The pool area is very nice, and the room itself is very nice. Breakfast was great and included smoothie, eggs, fresh fruit salad and yogurt, bread/jam and coffee. Location is great for an afternoon walk to Mancora (about 1:15 along the beach).
The a la carte offering for lunch and dinner is diverse and also quite good, though not the best value for money we have seen in Peru. The “dining” area / common area could use some additional lighting (eg fairy lights or more lamps on the tables) to make it more welcoming for dinner or drinks :)

Lovely room
The staff were really friendly but I did feel that they weren’t very attentive. When we arrived for example we had to sit waiting for ages until I eventually had to go looking for a member of staff and ask to check in. Breakfast was too basic.

Amai Luna is a lovely and original wooden bed and breakfast near the beach.
Friendly cooks, simple and tasty cuisine.
Don’t book a double room pool view there is no insulation and you’ll hear the people above walking and talking … no blackout curtains in the room, take your night mask if you’re sensitive to daylight.
Breakfast is basic and service super slow (average time 30min to get a coffee!). No beach mat available as the hotel don’t have a private beach area. Staff doesn’t speak a word of English.

It was just beautiful…it was tho a little dangerous for the children…I will definitely come back with only my husband. I believe it should be an only adults place due to the structure. It was very beautiful tho….and the personnel was just up to part! It was magical
No kids friendly at all

Absolutely beautiful place, so tranquil and relaxing. We especially loved the music choice for the restaurant / pool area. Rooms were lovely and spacious with a gorgeous, rustic design. The outdoor shower was such a nice touch. Breakfast was delicious and the lunch and dinner were also really tasty, great quality ingredients.
Only issue was crickets in the room and lots of wasps by the pool area - which obviously wasn’t the property’s fault but just prepare for this and maybe use ear plugs for a full nights sleep without the crickets keeping you up!

We absolutely loved the setting and atmosphere of this place. It felt like we were on a Caribbean Island. A little slice of paradise and tranquility. The food was top notch and the staff was very accommodating to any needs or requests.
The only true downside of Amai Luna was that it was a bit out of the way from the center of town. So for a larger than average group of 6 it becomes a little inconvenient to go into town for shopping and such.

The hotel is absolutely stunning! The room was gorgeous and the common areas were all beautiful.
Nothing to do with the property itself but there were many bugs which made it hard for me to enjoy 100% because I hate them. Lots of wasps at the pool area.

The hotel was a great little stay for some relaxation, away from the centre of Mancora. Although slightly difficult to get to from the centre of town, it was nice to be in a quieter section of the beach. The rooms were a great size and had a lovely balcony. It was great to have a restaurant on site with lovely food and even lovelier chefs. The pool and sun beds were great. The
Although a great stay, I did feel there was a lack of attention to detail and 5* service. The communication via WhatsApp, Booking.com and email were all quite poor, taking 24+ hours to respond. The staff (apart from the chefs) weren’t the friendliest - for example we left the hotel at 8am on our checkout day (the time breakfast starts) and asked the lady if there was any bread we could have, but that wasn’t possible - nor was it possible to have a piece of fruit. It would be worth noting that the road leading to the hotel is very bumpy and we arrived when it had been raining the day before and was almost impassible with the mud - not the best experience with our big bags on our laps in small moto taxis. Our check in was also 1+ hour delayed (we had been there since 10am that day), which was quite disappointing and meant we couldn’t relax.

Fantastic rooms. Everybody is extremely friendly, the owner and staff go above and beyond to make sure your stay is amazing. Very private and tranquil, with great beaches just a minute walk from the property. Unless you like to party, much better than staying in Mancora
The only thing I could say to improve is the food. The food was good but not great.

the food wasn’t the best and breakfast was very slow. although the breakfast was really good.

The location of Amai Luna was remote from the rest of Mancora, but this is what we wanted! It was very quiet, and the personnel working there as well as the owners were incredibly helpful. The pool was very nice, and all the amenities provided met our expectations. The restaurant was nice!
I had a hard time with food poisoning and the owners did everything they could in order for me to feel better. They provided me with medicine and tea, and they even gave me the room that we were supposed to check out for 4 more hours, which was so kind of them and I thank them so much!
I found the prices of the food in the restaurant more than what I expected, and the quality was just ok.

We really enjoyed out stay at Amai Luna, we stayed at the acantilado cottage. The room, beds and bathroom was very clean, comfortable and the view of the ocean breathtaking. The food in the hotel was very good, we had breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel most days. The pool is really nice and with a nice refreshing temperature (warming towards the end of the day). The staff are very friendly and responded to all our questions and support. Our kids and us loved out stay; and would love to come back. We went to see the sea turtles at Organos (from the pier, not swimming).
Not that we did not like, but to consider. We visited the hotel with our 4 and 6 years old. The hotel is probably not the most kid friendly place, and could stress a bit parents who are a bit risk adverse (as there are a lot of open rails). The acantilado cotage is beautiful but a bit of a hike (for those suffering from bad knees).
My main recommendations are the following: (i) it would be great to bring breakfast hours a bit earlier, we and our kids are early risers and had to wait almost two and a half hours for breakfast, while it starts at 8am it often takes around 30 minutes to get served after you order, (ii) since there is not much around in terms of restaurants, markets it would be also ideal to either have the kitchen open beyond breakfast, lunch and dinner hours, or at least sell some snacks, beverages - important also for people with kids, (iii) it would be also ideal to install some fans, while for two nights we had no bugs in our room, the other two nights we had mosquitos bothering at night. Last it would be super nice if you had some beach buckets for the kids (we brought ours all the way from Lima) and maybe having some life vests. Just a suggestion if the owners intent to make the hotel more kid/family friendly.

It was a very nice hotel. Each room as a really nice balcony with a view. It felt like you are staying a treehouse.

very beautiful cabin
we had a very large nice terrace with a view of the sea. but we couldn’t eat there. thought it was a waste of beautiful space. it would have been perfect for coffee or breakfast.
it said beachfront but is not exactly beachfront. had to cross the road and walk through a private path to the beach.

The place was nice. Nice rooms. Very quite. Nice beach and not so far from Mancora city center.
The best employee always nice, helping and smiling was Maria-Macarena!!
The employees at the office didn’t say « buenas dias »…
The hotel is not secure at all. It is always open night and day without key or code at the entrance.
In each room the safe is bad quality.
Even the rooms are not safe, you can easily come through the balcony and lift the doors.
Cooking was quite good.
Anyway our stay was nice.

The wifi did not work in our bungalow

Excellent property, beautiful rooms, kept lovely and clean, very peaceful and homely.
There’s do direct access to the beach, you have to go across the road and through another property to access the beach - although this only this only takes 2mins to get to,
But also there are no facilities from Amai Luna on the beach such as sun loungers, you will have to take towels and parasols across the road to set yourself up an area if you want to stay by the beach.

I loved the room. So quite, so beautiful with a wonderful view. Employees were exceptional, so kind and so professional
The restaurant. Food was not good at all. Breakfast was OK buy basic. The beach area was also basic. If we compare the chairs at other equipment with other hotels, amai Luna can make it better.
