About this house rental
Single Family home just 400 walking ft. away from the beautiful beaches of the Chesapeake Bay, or Chics Beach, the non-tourist, residential resort area of Virginia Beach. The Chics Beach area offers a large variety of restaurants and nightlife. If you venture out, all of the amazing attractions of Virginia Beach are just minutes away by car. The Virginia Beach Oceanfront resort area is just 20 minutes. First Landing State Park access is only a short drive away offering a multitude of serene walking and biking trails.
This spacious home features 7 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. The 4 queen bedrooms provide very comfortable bedding and each has attached balconys/decks. The massive king bedroom has a tempur pedic mattress, en-suite with a large jetted soaking tub and separate shower and includes a private balcony. There are 2 bunk rooms with sleeping for 4 ppl in each room. The bunk rooms, 1 queen room and king room are located on the second floor of the home. Two of the queen rooms are located on the first floor with a full bathroom. The 4th queen bedroom is located on the third floor with another full bath on the 3rd floor. On the ground floor, there is are 2 queen sleeper sofas. All bed and bath linens are provided for 21 people.
There are 2 fully equipped kitchens, each one including microwave, toaster, and coffee maker. All dinner ware, serve ware, and cook ware is included in the kitchens. The home provides 2 full size washers and dryers located off of each of the kitchens.
There is also an outdoor shower in the fully fenced back yard along with a gas grill.
Hi-speed internet and WiFi is complementary. There is room for 7 vehicles in front of the home. 5 spots along the front and 2 additional vehicles parallel parked along the edge of the driveway. (Additional street parking first come first serve). 16 beach chairs and 4 beach umbrellas as well as 2 beach wagons are provided for guest use. You have all you need for a wonderful relaxing week at the beach (just bring your own beach towel).
This beach neighborhood also features a handful of restaurants/bars in walking distance. Around the corner, Buoy 44 is a great restaurant located right on the beach. Just a few blocks from the home are HK on the Bay and Commonwealth Brewery. Your able to escape the crowds of the Oceanfront at Chics Beach but are still just a short drive to all of the major attractions that Virgnia Beach has to offer. we had a wonderful time. The house was perfect. WE could have used more lamps in the main room as it was dark unless we turned on the bright overhead light. The electrical outlets in the bathroom stopped working upstairs. Y ou might want to check that. But overall, all was well.

We really liked the location. The beach umbrellas, chairs and wagons were very helpful with the two year old and all the kites and toys we took to the beach.
The three tables allowed us to do puzzles, drawing and meals at the same time. This is a well equipped house.
We look forward to returning to this property.

Great location! Close to the beach in a nice quiet neighborhood. House was perfect size to hang out as a family, deck is a great place to enjoy. Wonderful memories were made.

Great location, close to the beach and within walking distance of a few restaurants. It’s a bit dated, but as in most vacations, you’re mainly there to sleep.

We had a fabulous week of family gathering. There was tons of room! Super close beach access. And we couldnt ask for nicer hosts! I think our only disappointments were: No ice makers or keurig, the dining tables were pretty rough, the porches weren't trustworthy and the closets and some of the dressers were dated, and our tub drained slowly.

Well maintained property suited our needs perfectly. While we came prepared for sun, the provision of sunscreen and bug spray was well appreciated.
Walked to beach daily with crew of kids 5-12; drove bikes to state park for trail ride; drove to North Beach one day for some bigger waves to boogie board on (but calmer bay waves were best for our whole crew), and wasn’t too crowded in either location.
Double kitchen came in handy cooking for such a large crew. Did hear some late night rowdiness on our last night but was overall a great experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The location was ideal for going to the beach everyday and our entire family felt comfortable and accommodated with the house. Lots of good restaurants in the area and even a few walkable bars.
We loved how there were plenty of chairs, wagons, towels, and sunscreen for everyone.
There were a couple small things that we needed to reach out to the owners for, but they were quick to respond and friendly.
We would definitely stay again!

This is literally the only property that can accommodate larger families/groups at the Chic's Beach bayfront beach area of Virginia Beach. This is a local beach that is located next to a residential area and is never crowded. We also love the fact that water is warmer and less rough than oceanfront for our young grandchildren.
The house itself is a converted duplex that has 2 fully equipped kitchens/dining areas and two family rooms with TVs. This allowed us to spread out and reserve one space for kids movies and video games and one for adult news/sports/movies. The TVs in the property are all Roku smart TVs and most major streaming networks are available. There are also some games/puzzles and a playroom suitable for young children. The house has comfortable furniture and beds; linens and towels (beach and bathroom) are provided and beds are all made up when you arrive. There are also beach chairs and umbrellas so reduces what you have to bring.
The owner/property manager, Beth, was very easy to reach and was able to answer any questions and rapidly responded to a repair issue. We had a great beach family vacation and would love to come back in the future.

The property was in the perfect location, a nice quiet neighborhood very close to a great beach. No crowds, walking distance to everything you need. The house was very spacious, clean, and all around a great place to stay for a large family!

With 9 adults and 9 grandkids there was more than enough space for everyone and the kitchens had everything we needed. On sunny days the beach was great and just a short walk away. On the rainy days we visited the aquarium and kids museum. Great place for a larger family vacation to the ocean.

Stayed in Va for a family get together and birthday celebration. The house was great with plenty of room for myself and family members. Altogether it was 20 of us and we were able to enjoy the house comfortably. It would definitely be a pick on out list if ever needed again. The only thing that I would say is the 2nd floor Queen bedroom’s tv was not working. Everything else was fine.

We enjoyed a nice vacation with our extended family of 10 adults and 2 dogs. The house was well equipped with beach towels & chairs, grille, fenced in yard, and lots of room. Just a short walk to the beach and easy access to anything you may need. Thank you for a great stay!

The place was very nice...big and well stocked. The owner did a great job with stocking beach towels and supplies, kitchen things, detergent, toilet paper, etc, etc. Internet was fast and each TV was set up with streaming via Roku which I liked. The location is great. The house is a bit outdated, which was fine. But I would recommend replacing the carpet upstairs. It is stained and smells like urine. That was the one thing throughout the trip that really bothered me. Also need to do something on the back deck as there are spider webs everywhere. I didn't even want to go out the back door because there were enormous spiders hanging there at night.

We like to thank Beth and her husband for renting there vacation home to me and my family. Having a vacation home big enough for us to get together and play games and just talk or for me private room to rest and relax. Top it off with the beach minutes from the house. Again thank you and I look forward to renting this home again.

Great Stay for a mixed age group.
Property was exceptionally clean, and well situated for our use. The bayside beach around the corner had no crowds, and great contrast to crowded ocean side beaches. Very well stocked with beach chairs, etc. Nice back yard off the deck. Only issue was that while common areas could get downright chilly, the AC didn't flow into bedrooms, all of which were quite warm/stuffy at night.

Magical week
We had a great time at this property! Very clean and the owners were extremely responsive when it came to any questions we had. It was a short walk to the beach and we enjoyed watching the sunset from the balconies. Our family had the best time!

The house was clean and well-equipped. Kitchen supplies were in good shape and well-stocked. Beach equipment was also available for our use. The owner, Beth Hickman, was very responsive to our inquiries. We enjoyed our stay.

We had a wonderful stay in Chic’s Beach. Beth was a great host and very responsive. Kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked, and the location is in a fun neighborhood walking distance to a few restaurants.

Great Location close to the beach, comfy for all
The location of the property was very close to the beach.
Plenty of room for all. We actually booked a place larger than we needed but the location was great and gave all of the adults staying there plenty of room.
The house was very nice, have two kitchens was coinvent as we left one set up as our bar/refreshment area. The other kitchen was our cooking/prep area.
Large enough eating area inside and out for 8 adults.
Having two washers and dryers made it easy to keep all of the beach towels and beach clothing clean and fresh everyday. We also took home all clean clothes which was the best when we unpacked.
Plenty of supplies, hand soap, towels, dish soap, dishwasher pods, and more towels.
Plenty of dishes, kitchen utensils, and kitchen tools and gadgets.
Loved having an outdoor shower to rinse off when we got home from the beach prior to going inside and cleaning up.
Outdoor grill is large enough to handle 10 steaks or more at a time.
Well appointed and beds very comfortable.
A number of very good restaurants within walking distance and a nice surprise, a craft brewery within walking distance as well. Very nice selection of beers.
This place made for a very wonderful, fun filled family vacation.

PERFECT FAMILY GETAWAY and close to the beach! Huge house, very responsive owners
The amazing responsiveness of the home owner made this trip A WIN for us. We ran into some issues that their housekeepers missed and they were very apologetic and offered to quickly make it right. It is a huge home and very friendly for children (just needs some more outlet covers). We came to enjoy the beach and that is exactly what we did. Super easy to walk to. The large kitchen and huge family table made this a win for our family.

Fantastic location! Block to the beach and restaurants. Short drive to Oceanfront and Norfolk. Would be great vacation spot for family! Everything was as advertised and all needs were met in this rental.

Visiting for our sons wedding
Great place to share with extended family. Plenty of space, everyone was comfortable. Beach access directly around the corner.
Only complaint, the draw pull next to stove makes it impossible to open oven door all the way. Door can only open half way making it very difficult to place food in and out. It’s also a burn on someone’s skin waiting to happen.

Absolutely lovely visit!
We were so thankful to discover this gem of a beach house, and would seek it out again in the future. The beds were very comfortable, with good soft clean sheets and more than enough space. One of the most lovely surprises was the deck on the rooftop, where we could have a panoramic view of the sky and map out the star constellations. There were also two different seating areas, A large breakfast nook and a separate very large dining room that lead out to a a wonderful deck. So much seating! We didn’t come close to needing it for our small family, but large groups could do well at this home. Thank you for hosting us, and for the memories.

Great family vacay
The house fit all of our needs. There was plenty of room, and all the basics were covered. It was very close to the beach and the neighborhood was unique and had restaurants near by. The beds were comfortable and the outdoor shower was very convenient. The only downside was that it's a house split into two units, so you can hear some noise from next door. It would have been nice if there were bikes available for renters use at the house.

Family vacation
Location was great! The sand hill is not the easiest to manage beach access but it would be like that anywhere. I like how there was beach items that we could’ve used if needed and how there is a book that has places to eat and prices, but beware as prices are out of date. It was clean for the most part but not deep cleaned. Furniture was fair. The most comfortable bed is in the master bedroom as the others were tolerated. Owner came by to take care of lawn one day and garbage another. No issues with the host or neighbors!!! Would definitely recommend and come again though!!!

Perfect vacation spot
The perfect vacation spot. Plenty of room for me and my two adult children's families. Very spacious. Well supplied. In a quiet beach town very close to the beach. A market and restaurants within walking distance. Away from the crowds of the resort yet a short drive to enjoy as well. Only a 45-minute drive to Colonial Williamsburg and Busch Gardens.
Owner was a good communicator who responded quickly when we found hornets making a nest on the deck. Pest control came right out and took care of it.
All of us agree that this will be a new favorite vacation spot. As my daughter said it was a great find!

As advertised, wonderful stay
Property was steps away from the beach! Nice facilities. Communication w owners was responsive and helpful. Laundry on premise. Convenient to local dining and groceries. Beach stuff provided- chairs, umbrellas and even boogie boards. Thank you. We had a blast!

Beautiful and spacious
My husband and I took our four adult children, their significant others and two grandchildren and loved the house and the location, the beach is an easy walk from the house. The house is centrally located only 30 mins from the zoo, aquarium, waterpark and dolphin watching tours. The beach wasn’t crowded at all which was great and my adult boys had a lot of fun fishing under the bridge. The house was plenty big enough for all of us and the beds were very comfortable. I would highly recommend this home if you’re visiting the Virginia Beach area.
