Bungalow was so clean & well equipped with everything you could possibly need, and in a quiet peaceful setting. Fantastic hosts were very welcoming and we had a lovely week visiting all our old haunts on the island that we hadn't seen for many years.

Brian and Carol were there to greet us with a warm and friendly welcome. We holiday in the U.K. 2 or 3 times a year so have stayed in a variety of holiday accommodation all over England and Wales. This was probably the best property we have ever stayed in with definitely the best welcome pack. The house was clean and spacious with plenty of storage space. It was well equipped with everything we needed. The location was great, close to local amenities, Compton Beach and The Needles. With a footpath running alongside the property boundary some days we didn’t use the car at all and did some long walks from the house. Brian and Carol were easy to contact and were on hand for anything we needed without being intrusive.

We have recently got back from a great week’s stay at Tradewind. We were greeted warmly by Brian and Carol who gave us information about the local area and were very welcoming. When we entered the property we were wowed: the accommodation was clean, spacious and was a fantastic home from home - perfect for our family of five. We were even given a really thoughtful and generous welcome pack of groceries for our stay which was a real surprise. The property was well organised and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay – for example there was plenty of crockery and utensils and this meant that we were not having to constantly wash up like we have in some previous places we have stayed. We were also provided with essentials such as washing up liquid, liquid soaps, dishwasher tablets, washing pods, tea towels, towels and kitchen roll etc which was a pleasant surprise and meant that we didn’t have to go to the shops as soon as we arrived. The Wifi at the property was also excellent, which with three older children, was an essential. The property is located just a short walk from Freshwater Bay in one direction and a shorter walk to the nearest supermarket in the other direction. Although we were on the west side of the island, we were able to visit all over the island comfortably as nowhere was more than a 40 minute drive, so we had plenty to do. The property also has great outdoor space with a large garden table, plenty of garden chairs and a summer house for when it gets a little breezy! On our day of departure, we were given flexibility on what time we would like to leave which I thought was very considerate of the hosts. When the hosts arrived at the agreed time, we were unfortunately in the midst of a family drama having locked our keys in the car! Brian and Carol did not make us feel like an inconvenience – they kindly left us with access to the property whilst we waited for the AA to arrive. They even came back to us with a big bag full of packed lunch groceries so that we could eat which really does demonstrate how thoughtful they are - they made a stressful situation so much easier to deal with. If I were to go back to the Isle of Wight, I would not hesitate to use this property again, or the smaller property that is also owned by the hosts. I would highly recommend this property as a place to stay on the Isle of Wight. Thank you for a wonderful stay at your fantastic property!

Treading on eggshells
The property was lovely, but we just felt that the owners had OCD when it came to cleanliness & order. Bin bags neatly folded & labelled in a plastic container. Everything was just too ordered, labelled & laminated to make for a relaxing stay. The rush to get everything cleaned & tidy to vacate the property by 09.00 was the icing on the cake. We did not need the owners waiting outside the door at 09.00.
My Mum found the property very noisy, as all the floors, except the bedrooms, are laminated, a nightmare when wet & we had wet weather.
The appliances were good, except lack of a coffee machine; however, the lack of kitchen utensils & bakeware was a challenge (1 wooden spoon, 2 blunt kitchen knives, no dishes suitable for the microwave, no glass desert dishes for instance).
We had a nice week, but would not return to this property, nor recommend to others.

We had a great week renting this property for half term. The property is in a lovely quiet residential part of Freshwater about 10 mins walk from the bay. The bungalow itself was spotless , the x box provided evening entertainment for the teenager although even he was persuaded out for an evening stroll on Tennyson Down. The owners were very welcoming , available if needed and left a lovely welcome pack. We would certainly recommend the bungalow for a family holiday.
