This is clean, simple accomodation with a great view and a nice host what more can you ask. Breakfast was ample. Great position uphill walk to town past interesing houses and the ruins of old buildings. Interesting walks around the area. Nice to look down on the river and see the wildlife. Great to have drinks on the terrace.
We were quite happy. Some people may find fault but that is more about them than the stay. Just remember that there is no dedicated parking; we parked a little way up the hill by choice but that was fine and would not deter us coming back.

Stunning location, huge room, spacious salon / diner with period furniture. Very welcoming and engaging Australian owner (who is also barman and chef) whose terrace bar is also enjoyed by loyal locals with much bilingual camaraderie.
Minor maintenance niggles in our room. Peeling paintwork on the windows and shutters might bother some, but were part of the charm as far as we were concerned.

The location is magical overlooking the river. We arrived after a hot day's driving and Paul recommended a quiet spot to go for a swim in the river. Our room was very large and the sound of the river fills the air. We had drinks and dinner on the terrace and then walked into town (five minutes). If you like your stays to be in beautiful places full of history and character, this is a 10/10. We will definitely be back!
Nothing at all. Just a word of caution, if you drive all the way down to the hotel it is best to reverse the last bit from the junction. The road down to the river is a dead end, and whilst if you have a large car it is just possible to do a three point turn, most people end up reversing all the way back up the hill.

The location is outstanding the view is amazing from the balcony. Breakfast fresh and well presented. Glass of wine on the terrace with some nibbles - very enjoyable. Although we didn't eat in the evenings, we were going to a party, the food looked fabulous. Paul, the hotelier, what a great guy, funny, helpful, informative - made the stay there most enjoyable.
It was exceptionally hot whilst we were there, a fan would have been nice and perhaps a mini fridge for cold water but it certainly didn't detract from how lovely it is there

Beautiful view, lovely location. Nice breakfast on the terrace. The owner, Paul, is very welcoming. Comfortable bed.
The place is old and poorly maintained, however is slowly being renovated. The living room has been redone and is lovely however, the bedroom we stayed in needed work, particularly the balcony and bathroom. We expected a better standard for the price.

A gorgeous old property in a stunning riverside location. The host was very friendly and provided our evening meal even though we did not pre-book.
Could be a problem with car parking, no issue our motorbikes

I arrived late one evening in February, it was pitch dark outside, the narrow lane and house looked very spooky. But I had a comfortable night and everything looked brighter the next morning and Paul the owner was very warm and friendly. The house is a large rundown draughty country house, the location is down a narrow mossy lane by a gushing river, the owner is lovely, my bed was warm and very comfortable.
There was no key to lock the bedroom door.
Reversing up the narrow lane with a rental car to leave in the morning. Best to park in the village above the house.

If your idea of a romantic stay is to be beside a rushing river, sighing over a weir, looking over a bridge with a ghoulish legend attached and beneath the walls of a glowering medieaval castle, this is where you should be. The ancient house, all tiled floors, high ceilings, generous balconies and tower like rooms offers all he above and more, A terrific welcome from your host, Paul, will fill in history, archetecture, food, and culture well spiced with local gossip. Everything about the Chambres de Pont de Legande is graceful style from a former age. But not the bathrooms, which have been brought moderately up-to-date. We slept well, lulled by the river, and ate a hearty breakfast before departing. Excellent value in every way
Nothing.

One of the best views you could hope for. A really comfortable chambre d’hôte in an historical locale and building, overlooking the river, bridge and looking up to the village. Everything just right for a very enjoyable stay.

We loved staying at La Légende. Darren & Echo are very kind and hospitable. The accomodation itself is indescribably beautiful; it’s perched on the edge of a river with the most amazing views in every direction. Very large and comfortable rooms with everything you need. La Légende is situated in a very charming village, about 5 minutes walk to the centre.
