We have just had 5 lovely nights over Christmas - as a family of 6 adults, together for first Christmas in 4 years, plus one happy Groodle.Little John is a lovely, quiet home surrounded by beautiful paddocks, masses of trees and graced with the company of blue wrens, frogs, kangaroos, blue-banded native bees eagles and so much more. The kitchen was very well stocked with cooking and dining equipment - made it a pleasure to cook together as a family. The doggo loved the lawn and space and it was such a chilled out time.
Great communication about the property from Gerry. We’d happily stay again.

Beautiful property and home for a winter escape from the city with our family and pet dogs. Kids loved the paddock and looking at the ducks and kangaroos, we loved walking the trail behind the property and the dogs were in heaven running about all day. Lovely and warm with a toasty fire each night and a fire pit to roast marshmallows. Thank you, we would definitely visit again!

We’ve stayed here a few times and it is continually everyone’s favourite down South stay. The fire pit was a nice addition this time. We’ll be back next winter for more.

We had a lovely time - the kids spent most is their time in the paddock, with the dog! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Peaceful Getaway
The check in process was super easy and the communication with the property manager was wonderful.
The wonderful positives of the property:
* Incredibly well equiped kitchen including herbs, spices and oils!
* Great stock pile of wood and kindling for the fireplace.
* The house is cosy yet lots of space to entertain.
* The walk down to the damn on the property is magical especially watching the kangaroos come into eat both at dawn and dusk.
* Delicious mandarins and lemons on the property.
* Loved being able to use a washing machine and dryer especially with a toilet training toddler.
Would be great if:
* There was a hammock outside.
* The king bed was a little softer but that’s also a personal preference.
* Heater in the king size room for those colder months just because the heat from the fire place doesn’t reach this room.
Overall a lovely place and the owner is super easy to communicate with - thank you for a lovely family stay!

Great family stay
Quiet, spacious, well set up , great garden and space to play in paddock, house and garden fenced off so very safe for children. Cul de sac made it a quiet location from street traffic. Loved
it! The marti tree nuts were treacherous on the back verandas.

Pictures don't do this property justice - it's more lovely.
Only one AC in the home, which ordinarily I suspect wouldn't be a problem. However, the heat wave mid Jan made it slightly uncomfortable, even with closing the house up to the heat. My Mum left early as she found it too much.

A great place for family
Our family had a fantastic week at Little John. Lots of room, and a great modern kitchen. The bedrooms were all nice and spacious. The garden is beautiful and we really loved sitting in the shaded verandah looking across the garden to the paddock, trees, and dam. Our dog also loved having a secure fenced-in area around the house to run in. The location is ideal between Yallingup and Dunsborough. Would recommend this property to anyone and we'd definitely like to come back.

Little John Surpassed Expectations
Easy check in & plenty of room to move inside & out. The fire place & wood was an excellent touch & great to have a portion of land fenced for our dogs. Great to wander and explore the rest of the property. My daughter loved the upstairs bedroom & would love to stay there again.

Enjoy the serenity
Wonderful space for a big family - there's no wifi so leave the screens at home, explore the paddocks, listen to the frogs, watch the kangaroos. The beds are big and comfortable, the woodfire adds to the mood, plenty of outdoor spaces (it would be perfect for a writing retreat). Dog-friendly too, which is a real plus. We loved it.

Perfect for a family reunion
One of those rare locations that works for a break even if the weather isn’t the best! We played games with the kids, walked around the property between storms and cooked up a storm.

Great Rural Escape
We stayed here in winter (cold and wet outside) and made great use of the fire to keep us and the house warm and cozy inside. We took our dog, and were really happy that the property was securely fenced - preventing any Roo chasing. Roo spooting was great though.
Would definitely return, a lovely house in an amazing location.

Fantastic stay, great location
Very impressed with our getaway this past weekend. Aside from the stunning winter weather we loved Little John - away from the hustle and bustle but close to everything we needed including emergency arvo gelato at Simmos. Loved the house especially the fire and the layout worked really well for two young families. Gerry was very responsive to requests and made everything easy for us. Definitely recommend!
