Very impressed with the quietness and seclusion of the property and it's nearness to downtown Washington DC and the Metro. We enjoyed our stay very much

Arriving with 14-15 adults with plans to stay and eat meals at the home only to find a tiny small apartment sized empty refrigerator in the basement and a shared kitchen refrigerator that had no freezer space and inadequate storage because of the owner’s family food and open condiments was a bit gross and very odd and upsetting for nearly $6k for just a weekend, The owners ask you to put your accumulated garbage (15 people create many bags) into your car and drive it around the block to put it in garbage cans located down a very steep hill. We declined that request and left it neatly in the garage. There should be sufficient garbage retention at the house not a need to drive it. The house was not very clean- dirty children socks under and in basement sofas, for example. Overall, it is very cluttered- like nothing is ever thrown away and the owner collects yard sale finds …cracked cups/playes, a ton of dusty nick knacks ..it is very lived in and anxiety producing as a result of the clutter
Otherwise bedroom and sleeping space is good. Basement toilet broke but owner was quick to get a plumber there (saying it happens often). If it were less cluttered, cleaner and had an empty fridge and freezer and garbage containers, it would have been 4 stars overall as it is a unique property for a large group to gather. Won’t hit 5 stars in my opinion as I own a VBRO and rent them often and I expect more.

We had a group of middie school students and parents visiting DC for a few days! This home was a great "refuge" from the busy city and provided everything we needed.
We are grateful for the opportunity to stay in this home!

This was a awesome house to stay at. Very clean and in a safe place. Our Marine Corps Reunion was a success and if we're ever back. We will be staying back there if we're allowed. Thank you so much.

The property location and size were great and as described. It had a lot of space and the large dining table was great for our group to gather at for meals and games. The hot tub was clean and in great condition. I wish the weather had cooperated more, as the outside porch and deck are amazing and would have been great to spend more outdoors time on them.
That said, we had two major issues with this property.
First, the listing is not clear that this is a family home, and is lived in full time. All closets, rooms, fridge, etc. contain the family's belongings. It's just good to know that going in, as it was a little uncomfortable for some of us knowing that the family had vacated for our pleasure.
Second, while at first pass the home was clean, it became clear that a thorough, deep cleaning is needed badly. Kitchen pans, utensils and drawers were dirty; trash cans were moldy under the trash bags; air vent had black dirt / dust covering it. Bathroom floors and baseboards need a good cleaning, as does the soap dish which had mold growing on bottom side. There were some food scraps on the floor and - surprisingly - 5 baked potatoes in the oven.
I corresponded with the owner after we left and he was very apologetic and said he would get these things taken care of. I really hope he does because it is a fantastic location and great large space for a gathering.

My family lives distance apart since 2005 in where it made it seem impossible for our schedules to align to be able to be together. I have been praying for years to the good Lord to bring us all together one day and this was the season. When we began to discuss plans my oldest daughter and I began researching properties for our stay and we both found this beautiful property. The home is warm, full of the Spirit of Love and is perfect for large family gatherings. It is perfectly situated in a secluded area and is just minutes from DC. The shopping center is just around the corner as well. The Lord exceeded my expectations as this home made my family reunion a blessed, fun, anointed and loving experience. Whenever out plans call for the DMV area we surely will look to this property again

This property was so perfect for our needs. So much room for all of our family to be comfortable.
We came to lay my husband to rest at Arlington.
The metro was so close. Some of my adult children used it to get from airport to the Springfield stop. It made it so convenient to pick them up.
We all used it to go into DC and check out the sights.
So many options so close for food shopping and eating.
This home is warm and inviting! Loved the hammock in the yard.

We needed a place for extended family to stay so we could all attend my parents burial in ANC. This property was an excellent choice. There were plenty of rooms for everyone to have their own space plus multiple areas inside and outside for communal gatherings. The house is well appointed. And anything else we needed was near by but at the house you would never guess. The property is wooded, quiet and spacious. It’s really the best of both worlds.

Burial at Arlington
This was a wonderful house that had everything we needed. We were close to DC and Arlington where we buried our loved one. On the same day we celebrated a birthday at the house. There were lots of good eating places around and the teens enjoyed the maill. Would highly recommend!

Perfect Spot!
The house was a perfect spot for our family reunion. 12 adults. Easy access to Metro and shopping. Appreciated responsiveness of owner. Pictures are accurate, but a bit dated. Overall, this is a great spot for a large group to gather and enjoy DC/Northern VA.

Family trip for Arlington funeral
This house was perfect as a home base for our 11 family members as we gathered from all over the country to honor our parents at their Arlington National Cemetery service. James and Jennifer were very responsive when we asked questions and it really helped to be able to check-in early since everyone was flying in and we needed to shop for groceries.
With so many king-sized beds and bathrooms, we were able to make everyone in our group happy with their room. Even our daughter who used the TV room sleeping on an aerobed mattress was very comfortable.
We loved the variety of games in a closet and played a lot of Settler's of Catan and Exploding Kittens.
Having an extra kitchen downstairs was helpful for more refrigerator space (beer) and the outdoor BBQ was nice for the day we decided to cook a nice dinner.
We liked the information on the refrigerator about places to get takeout. The first night we got meals from Taco Bamba which really helped since nobody wanted to cook!
We went to the zoo on one day and on another day we rented e-bikes in Alexandria to ride the trail to Mount Vernon.
All in all, it was a great place for our family.

Weekend with the family
Everything inside the house was clean including dishes, sheets, towels, floors, etc.
The outside of the house gave the impression that the property was abandoned for 10+ years.
We were not given the key to use the treadmill..
There are 2 TVs but no access to live TV (weather, news, sports, whatever).
Looks like the walls have recently been painted but all of the moldings/baseboards, etc., were in dire need of paint.
Two toilet seats were loose.
Access to the home is somewhat confusing as the driveway doesn't really reach the street. Follow the owners directions as the nav systems don't know how to get there. Confusing because of the layout of the access 'path' or street.

Overall Nice
House owner is very nice but few things which i would like to highlight about house is that the pictures of property are old and now house is not exactly same as how it is in pictures (though not bad at all)
Bbq Grill and its utensils weren’t cleaned after last use and there was food left in it which I am not sure how old it was but that was gross.
Owner James is very helping as he allowed us to early checkin and late checkout.
House has lots of toys for kids, we had total 5 kids in our group and they loved it there.

Gathering for Arlington National Cemetery Service
I'm so glad I was able to secure this home for our gathering of friends and family for my Dad's service at Arlington. Plenty of room for everyone to prepare and then relax and visit after a stressful and emotional couple of days. Everything needed on site and more for a large group, as well as beautiful.
Especially nice amenity is the large and long kitchen/dining room table where everyone could gather at one time. I correctly predicted that could/would be a perfect spot for us to gather, with the excellent back porch/veranda coming in a close second.
As a Florida State grad , I hate to give a very positive review to a home with Univ of Fl Gator items, but I have no choice. 😉
Thank you, Jim.

Excellent Experience!
Before arriving at the property, the owner communicated with us several times. Allowing us to consider shipping items to the property before our arrival to allowing us to check in early to ensuring we all arrived with little to no problems.
Make sure you check the owner's directions about how to access the property (some of us did, some of us did not).
The home was very spacious for our group and gave us just the right amount of space!
I recommend this property for any group looking to stay in the DC area.

Very clean and nice property. The outdoor fireplace was great. We could have stayed around it the entire stay. There are plenty of bedrooms and sleeping accommodations to have your own privacy. This property is recommended.

We were so blessed to find this perfect house for our large family’s trip to Alexandria for our youngest son’s wedding. The house, the yard, the location - amazing. Convenient to everything.Owner was great to work with!!

We couldn't be more pleased with the accommodations. There was plenty of room for our 4 adult children and their families. We were in town for a family wedding in Alexandria and this location was a short drive to Old Town Alexandria. The children and teens loved the house. And we all were quite comfortable. We would have enjoyed spending more time at the house, but most of the weekend was spent somewhere else for the wedding festivities. Thank you to the host family for allowing us to stay in your home - no trivial thing I imagine.

Perfect for large group!
As I was preparing for the burial of my husband in Arlington, and coming from several states away, I needed a quiet, peaceful, and sizable home for me, our children and their spouses so that we could all be under the same roof...this lovely home gave perfect space and lovely setting for this! I am so glad to have found it ~ owner was a dream to interact with ~ can’t say enough about how perfect it was for us!!

Perfect place for a retreat
We brought our youth group and their parents--6 teens, 6 parents, 2 facilitators--for our coming of age retreat. It was a beautiful and comfortable place to stay, plenty of spots to sleep, comfortable chairs and sofas, and with an unexpectedly warm January day we even ate outside on the patio! And all 14 of us were able to have a meal together at the table. Great setup for our needs and a lovely, hospitable home.

I rented this house out for a group I was bringing to D.C. for a field trip. The house was beautiful and there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out and have their own space. I reached out to the owners several times via VRBO and via phone call and they were always super responsive and helpful. The only glitches we ran into was 1) Finding the place! Their directions forewarn that it's hard to find in the dark and it is indeed hard to find in the dark. In hindsight, we should have not even typed in the house's address in our GPS but just typed in the address of the home that they said the house's driveway was near and 2) If coming in the dark (as we did), it was pitch black with no outdoor lights when you first arrive so bring a flashlight! and 3) The door key code that was in the directions that they gave was incorrect but I just called them and they gave me the correct code (and were very apologetic!). Overall, really liked the house and the owners and would definitely use them again. I'll also say that while it's a little ways outside of D.C., it was an easy drive to the Vienna metro stop (about 15-20 minutes) and once there, a 40 minute straight shot into the heart of D.C. so that was very easy.

My family and I rented this home for a weekend and hosted my baby shower here. The house is perfect for large families and lent itself perfectly to an open yet inclusive gathering space. The play area out front was perfect for the kids and they had a ball playing out there. We ordered pizza from a local pizza place called Malek’s Pizza Palace and they had delicious pizza and easy delivery! The kitchen lent itself nicely to a pizza buffet station and we all enjoyed sitting outside or at the giant dining room table.
Of the family who stayed in the house we all enjoyed comfy and quiet nights. At 7.5 months pregnant, I especially enjoyed the jacuzzi in the master bedroom!
We’ll remember this trip and home for years to come. Thanks for the happy memories!
