It's a cute little privately run resort in a very central location on the island. The rooms are spotless and spacious. The staff is super nice and professional leaving no wish unattended. Also our kids loved the garden of this hotel. We can only highly recommend this place!
Maybe the aircon was rather loud during the night and we frequently turned it off and rather sweated.

Nice apartment with a little terrace-balcony equipped with a set of chairs and a table, plus a little rack to hang your clothes. The personnel is amazingly nice, helping you with whatever needed. There is a water dispenser you can use at any time, and the room comes with some free coffee and a water boiler.
Although there was WIFI in all the premises, the power of it was not super strong, plus a bit unstable, making steady work kind of complicated (good enough for checking your stuff, not enough for working).
As everywhere in the little Philipines islands, be ready for some cock and chicken noise during your night :D

Clean room, very friendly staff
If you have a bit lower standards for a room and you only come for the diving, this will do just fine.
It's a basic room, quite small as well.
The aircon is a one unit aircon, so it has no indoor and outdoor unit but it's built in the wall itself and it's very loud, the positive part about it is that because it's so loud, you can't hear the many roosters and the karaoke bar nearby.
The location is in the local area, the shortest way towards the beach is a 10 minutes walk starting through the backyard of the neighbors.
WiFi is as fast as a hibernating snail, so it's worthless, speeds usually were between 0.1 Mbps and 3 Mbps. So not really fit for scuba diving digital nomads, like me. 😉
In general I think all the hotels/resorts on the island are similar in standards (price/quality)
For a well known and touristic island, I expected it would be more developed. I've been on more remote islands with better development than this one.

Annabelle and her family were the absolute best! Their place is conveniently near the central square where you can have delicious Filipino breakfast and amazing grilled fish and meat for lunch or dinner. Wi-Fi was a concern but they were kind enough to place us in a room near the router as I had warned them ahead of time I’d be working while I was there. However, 4G is widely available throughout the island so just get a data plan if you don’t want to risk it! The room was spacious and very comfortable. I had the unfortunate accident of stepping on a sea urchin and they did everything they could to help me through it. JPH was by far the highlight of our strip in the Philippines. We’ll definitely come back and highly recommend it to everyone!!

It is good value for money, and the grounds are much cleaner than the rest of the island, apart from the main beach, which is beautiful at high tide if you like boats.
Free water available.
Make sure you put your sign out to get your room cleaned.
Noisy Air con, you need airplugs.
Hard bed.
4 nights was 1 too many.

I had the most wonderful time at JPH Resort in Malapascua! The cleanliness of the resort was impeccable, making our stay truly comfortable and enjoyable. Every staff member was incredibly kind, making us feel warmly welcomed throughout our entire visit. Moreover, the resort's strategic location allowed for easy access to everything we wanted to explore in the area. The stay was made even more memorable by the incredible hospitality of the front desk lady. She was extremely kind and went above and beyond by waking us up in the morning to ensure we caught the last ferry.

We had a fantastic time here! The rooms are big, very clean and good smelling :)
Location was very quite but still only a few meters walking to everything.
The owner & staff are super nice, always making sure we’re happy and we could refill our water for free :) outside were some hammocks where you can relax in.
We would come here anytime again!!
Absolutely nothing to complain!

Lovely staff, very helpful, anything you need they will try and help you. Room was very clean and you could choose when you had it cleaned and every time it was cleaned it was done perfectly. The value for money is outstanding would highly reccomend.
Only issue would be surrounding noise at night. You could sometimes hear karaoke but it would usually go off before it got late however this is of no fault of the hotel. Just a little annoying when you are getting up early to dive.

Great place for our short stay on Malapascua Island. The hosts here were extremely helpful and allowed us to check in very early on our arrival, they gave us some good options for food nearby and on checkout they brought our bags down to the pier for us. The rooms and area is all very clean and spacious. All for great value.

property was in good location. room was big and clean and lovely hot shower.
unfortunately the weather wasn't great while on the island so didn't get to enjoy it so much.
WiFi was ok
David and his staff were so lovely. he organised a brilliant large boat for us to get to Bantayan Island directly and a more reasonable price (than organising in port). thank you 🙏🏻
bed not comfy and pillows too hard
10.0 / 10.0
The staff were really friendly and helpful. They organised scooter and boat hire for us, and had umbrellas for us to use when it was raining. The room was spacious and clean. It is located within walking distance from the port, and close to restaurants and little shops. There was a hot water shower.
The bed and pillows were very hard.

Overall a good place to stay. Lovely staff. Big room. Clean and well organised.
Slightly overpriced unless you are multiple people staying in the room. No shower gel or toiletries provided.
7.0 / 10.0
The staff were very friendly. Location- close to the market (but not main beach). AC was efficient (tho a tad noisy). The staff organised private transport (car) from Cebu which was very handy.
There wasn't much hanging space (or other space), this could easily be solved by a laundry line in the sunny open area. Rooms were quite small. Water pressure in the shower was not very good. An outdoor fan for the front area would be useful to keep away mozzies. The private transfer by boat (maya port to malapascua) was not very different to the ferry service but it was much more expensive, would only recommend this to people with alot of luggage.

Great location in the middle of the island with easy walking. Fantastic staff, great rooms.
The beds were quite hard, like a very firm foam. I usually just like a softer bed so it could be entirely a preference thing. my wife thought the beds were fine.

Great value for money, staff were super friendly and polite. Central location to restaurants.
Maybe to supply some toiletries/soap for guests but other than that nothing

Room was very clean. Hot shower. Walking distance to Bounty beach, Mercado and port.
There was no drinking water heater in the room. But staff were eager to provide hot water upon request.
