Mary was an excellent host and the pub nearby Caffreys was great for evening meal.
Couldn’t fault anything

The Whitaker B&B was perfect in every way. Mary the owner and her husband could not have been more hospitable.
The entire house was spotless.
You could not ask for anything more for a place to stay in the beautiful Irish countryside.
I am sure you could always find something that one could complain about but honestly with this B&B there is nothing to complain about at all.

Mary is a lovely, attentive and very helpful host. The house is very well set out as a B & B and her animals are just up my street. The little touches like sparkling water and chocolate left in our room as well as a kettle for tea and coffee went down well. We were also offered tea on arrival - a nice touch.
Our breakfast order was superb. We were offered yogurt, soda bread, milk brioche, cereal, fruit, nuts, dried fruit, pumpkin seeds as well as a full Irish Breakfast with toast and tea or coffee. We will be back whenever in the area.
Can't think of anything.

What a fabulous B&B. Mary is the perfect host, with such a warm welcome, making sure everything is perfect during your stay leaving you feeling truly valued.. The property is finished to a high standard too. The Breakfast fills you up for the day, you won’t go hungry that’s for sure! Fantastic location, plenty of parking and a short walk to The Abbey House Pub where the locals welcome you with open arms, with an amazing history too. If you need a Taxi there is a fabulously accommodating local called Michael that Mary recommended and a true gent! The local village, a couple of miles down the road has a hotel that serves great meals and there are takeaways if you prefer.

Our stay was superb. Mary welcomed us with the offer of tea and biscuits and she had thought of different ways to make our stay special (eg sweets and drinks in the room and a folder telling us of all the sights in the area plus how Whitaker lodge got its name). Mary has a bubbly personality and made us feel at home. The bedroom and bathroom were spotless and newly refurbished. I can't remember much about the bed other than it was so comfy I fell asleep all night..
We arrived as travellers passing and left as friends with great memories.

Rural setting, with proximity to the Abbey Pub in the nearby village of Fore. It was the quintessential small pub where you talk to the locals and, as it turned out, the other guests in our B&B. The house and our room was lovely. Our host was most helpful with advice on local sites and history.

Host was very friendly 🙂 breakfast was good 👍

Delicious & generous breakfast, which was
very sociable with host & other guests (a different alignment of chairs & tables might facilitate this even more!)
Very clean & comfortable room and dining area
Exceptionally thoughtful and considerate when traffic diversions & pre-postcode satnav delayed our initial arrrival.
Relaxing rural premises and view, yet address not difficult to find close to signposted townland.
Within easy reach of places of interest, including Lough Crew Cairns, Lough Crew Gardens, Fore Abbey, Tullynally Castle & Gardens.
Special interest in horses & dogs!
A very happy stay here.

Extreme kindness of the owner....

Mary was lovely and very helpful. The full Irish breakfast was delicious. The local village with pubs and abbey ruin was only a 20 minute walk away.
The room was comfortable, although the description on Booking.com was misleading: it listed some facilities as if they were available in the room such as a refrigerator when they were actually communal. Nevertheless, Mary's hospitality more than compensated for any disappointment!

I felt very welcomed. Mary really helped with booking taxis for us to the wedding venue and the airport. I really appreciated this because I had no Internet in Ireland and it was one less worry while I was abroad.

Great location, close proximity to plenty of landmarks and two reasonable sized towns. The hosts are very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast is available in abundance. Our room was clean and warm. Shower had plenty of power and even spray. No noise from traffic at night and the other guests were quiet also.
Very little to complain about in the premises. Only thing of note was the mattress was a little too hard for my other half. Aside from that, the pros very much outweighed the con.
