Handy for work and reasonably priced.I wouldn’t take my family to stay.

Location

It wasn’t very clean, cobwebs everywhere. chewing gum by the side of the bed what had been spat out. Settee very uncomfortable.

not for me.

lots of cleaning stuff and cooking facilities nice and warm

smelt of smoke in the property mainly in master bedroom made us feel a bit poorly so we left to stay in premier in. bathroom sealant was black didn’t feel clean

Close to town and complete with facilities you will need for a long.

It was close to town and had everything we needed like cutlery to cook with and when I queried about a hairdryer the owners delivered one straight away.

The shower was very weak at first but the owners came and fixed it.

A good sized property which was excellent for our family stay. Tastefully decorated interior. Easy parking

plenty of space & clean & tidy with some unexpected but welcomed additional items - tea, coffee, biscuits

there were some mouldy areas around the shower screen & in the bathroom in those fiddly hard to reach areas. There were also some ants.

Good stay, totally spoilt by no one being contactable on the last morning

House was comfortable, clean and tidy. Nice touch with tea, coffee, milk, sugar.

The hosts weren't particularly responsive to questions sent via Whatsapp or email prior to arriving, so phoned the day before arrival and was informed they would meet us there to handover the keys. On the day I Whatsapp'd and phoned, no response, went to house, no one there, then found an email with code to keybox. Not a big deal really just a little frustrating as we were delayed getting access. However, all doors have keypad locks, the email contained the codes. On our last morning the door to the master bedroom slipped off the door stop, closed, and locked itself, so checked email for code, it didn't have the code to that room. All my belongings were in the room. We Whatsapp'd, emailed, and phoned. No one picked up Whatsapp's, phone calls went direct to voicemail. No one got back to us. We spent an hour trying random numbers, missed the 10am check out, thought someone would come round to check we had gone, but no. Eventually we luckily put the right code in and got into the room. We didn't get a response from the owners until 5 hours later. What if we had been staying with a baby in a travel cot in that room and they were locked in ? I find it incredulous that no one is contactable about the property when people are staying. We rent out our own property and there are always people who are contactable immediately in case of issues.

The property was OK but I wouldn't choose to stay again.

Only 10 minutes from the centre. Bedrooms were a good size and comfy

Areas of the kitchen and bathroom are in need of cleaning eg the boiler is near to the cooker and very greasy. The bathroom skirting boards need a good clean and the grouting and sealent need replacing. There is chewing gum stuck on the landing staircase just below the banister. The internal doors need cleaning and the front of the house has a lot of weeds and doesn't look inviting.

Overall a good comfortable stay in a good location close to the town.

Beds were comfortable and the location was good for where we needed to go.

Bathroom and shower could be updated, sofa wasn't great. But those were minor things really.

stay somewhere else

We did not stay at Gordon street as planned on the 3rd July. I have emailed the host the day before my scheduled arrival for information of check-in details. The host did not send any check-in details until the morning of our arrival (4 hrs before our arrival time) only to inform us that our booked accommodation was unavailable. After texted the host, I was informed that they have upgraded us to another location "21 Edinburgh road" further away from town, It caused a lot of anxiety for me and my friends on the day. When asked if it's okay to be bumped to another place, I informed the host that this was not ideal as we chose the location to be near our friend whom we are visiting. The host offered to cancel our bookings but money had already been taken from my account on the 23rd June. The procedure of cancellation from booking.com clearly states that no refund after a certain date and there's also a cancellation fee. It caused a lot of anxiety when the host refused to answer the phone call and the only communication was through text. Reluctantly we accepted the new place. The check-in details was sent via booking.com at 14:25hr and SMS message was not sent until 15:25hr. On arrival, although the place looked clean enough in the kitchen/living room, the handrail was oily and the whole place feels dusty. On the day of departure which is the next day, we heard someone trying to break into the house - it was the cleaner who arrived at 920a.m (check out time was not until 10a.m). The host did not communicate to the cleaner that they have guests staying overnight. We, unfortunately, could not rate our experience as good. For £149 a night, for four adults, we would have expected a better experience than poor communication, being "upgraded" to a less desirable location last minute. I do not recommend it.
