About this house rental
Welcome to Cabinlicious! Just head-to-toe remodeled 50's vintage Lake Forest Cabin across the street from the Lake. Half block walk to Skylandia exclusive beach and walking trails. This is the Tahoe destination that is both super delicious for adults with the lake a stroll away and Squaw/Alpine/Northstar a 20 minute drive, and also for kids who love a house that is an adventure in itself. Cabinicious was designed by a decorator who celebrates Tahoe in her 70's glory with hanging chairs and a record player, drink fridge, and bedrooms that all escape the hum-drum of hotelness: An intimate Master Queen bedroom with gold deer head and dream catcher, a Glampsite-inspired bedroom with a full sized teepee bed, and a super playful bunk room with 1 bunk and 1 fold out single. All beds have sumptuous down blankets so your fun is sprinkled with deep z-z-z-z's.
The intimate Tiny Fun Cabin (700 sq. ft) is made especially big in the spring and summer when the 9000 sq. ft. lot has a creek running through, a forest playground for kids with hammocks. This is Tiny Cabin Chic and so if you want a big space, this is not the place for you....
The land itself is a rare forested double lot in the exclusive Lake Forest area, a peaceful enclave between Dollar Point and Tahoe City.... just a couple miles to town to enjoy the bike path to town and restaurants and shops. Lake Forest itself only has a couple rentals as this is mostly high-end residents. Stroll down to the Sugar Pine bakery for great treats and coffee and sandwiches.
Only 1/2 block from Skylandia Beach or 2 blocks from public boat launch and beautiful sandy beach. Cabinicious is not spacious, but sexy, a fun haven for adults and kids alike. Come play Twister and Cornhole and lounge in a hammock in the summer. It's where we all want to land in the Big Blue I Do of Tahoe....
Special Note: If you are a high maintenance guest, we are thankful if you look elsewhere. Folks that need curling irons and a measuring cup delivered in the snow are not our peeps. This cabin is for cozy adult and kid fun... big stars, big lake, and getting back to the fun of escape.

Buyer beware but it might be worth it
I really appreciate thorough and honest reviews so I am seeking to provide that here. I had very mixed emotions about this rental. First let me say I am NOT a high maintenance guest that the description says shouldn’t book and I am pretty laid back. But the description for this property is just plain wrong. Having said that the location is awesome and the bed was comfortable and the house had a bohemian charm that we embraced. But here’s what’s not great andwhat is even misrepresented in the listing.
1) the 9600 sq ft of outside is NOTHING like what is described. There are no hammocks, no tee pee and you share the lot with a camper trailer that has residents in it, a piece of warn out junk (like a wooden outdoor shower), and two trailers. The dining table and grill was unclear as to whether it was ours to use or the residents of the trailer so we really felt like we had a tiny table with four plastic chairs.
2) the house is small but it could be really cozy downstairs if the furniture wasnt so weird as to make it impossible to be comfortable. Even for just two people. The two swings pictured have been replaced by one that two adults can’t possibly fit in comfortably and then there is no room for any other chairs to be pulled up. The very heavy dining table is short and the chairs don’t allow an adults legs to fit under it (chairs r too high) so even dining is uncomfortable. The upstairs is better.
3) there is no central AC. There is a window air conditioner in the biggest bedroom and it worked great. Also the downstairs stayed really cool so no ac down there didn’t matter. But the listing said there is AC and that is misleading.
3) there is no fun room that we could find.
4) the beach is about a 1/4 mile walk not a block. But it is close and it is gorgeous
5) the record player doesn’t work. No big deal but it’s highlighted on the listing.
A note on cleanliness. Checkin instructions say they are cleaning extra because of Covid and to not ask for early checkin but the place was not very clean. There was chunks of stuff on the throw pillows and so
Much dust (on blinds, etc) that it just felt dirtier than my own house and I go on vacation to escape that!
The neighborhood is a neighborhood. You are not in the forest in a cabin and the view is of a ramshackle cabin owned by the county. But it is SO close to the lake and our dog loved it so much. So…go ahead and stay here. Just don’t be shocked when the property is not as advertised

Tiny living room with UNUSABLE FURNITURE
The living area was tiny with not a single comfortable seat. NOT ONE. It was filled with useless furniture and was hard to walk around in. Should take out all the junk and put in 2 comfy loveseats and a regular height table. Probably would not stay again, although bed was quite comfy and location was lovely.

location, location, location
We stayed last week and were lucky to avoid the forest fire smoke. The cabin is ideally located for all activities on the north side of the lake. Easy direct beach access with a bakery down the street were highlights! Mountain biking was amazing and could ride to most trails directly from the cabin. I was worried it would be noisy because it is situated on a corner close to the beach, but public parking is very limited and noise/traffic were not issues at all. Highly recommend staying!

Cozy house
We really enjoyed the location and the eclectic decorations. As the posting said it has the essentials. The only thing we could complain about is that it was such a hot weekend the AC and refrigerator never really got cold. Other than that there was great communication from the owners and we had a great time in Tahoe. They even had a wine refrigerator which we really enjoyed.

Cute cabin
The cabin was very cute in a great location. It was a little smaller than we had hoped but we made it work. However, while we stayed here we did get bit up by fleas.. when I reported this to the owner she denied the cabin could possibly have fleas. Sorry but I would not stay here again.

Cute & Quaint
Perfect little spot near the lake. Quiet and I loved the furniture. The hanging chairs, TP bed, bunk beds and overall layout of the house was perfect for our group. Thank you for letting us stay for the night!

Cabinlicious
My husband, three kids (8,3, 10mo) stayed at Cabinlicious this weekend. We caught Tahoe’s first snow of the year. Check in was easy, kids loved the Tepee bed and hanging chairs, they didn’t noticed that there was no TV in sight.

Great Cabin, great host
I Stayed with my family last week for a couple of days and all I have to say is thank you so much Sarah, you are awesome host, very attentive and caring.
The cabin is great, just as the pictures.. so cozy, it has the perfect balance between nature life and glam life.
We are definitely coming back by winter, we want to see some snow.

Fun boho modern intimate cabin. Very clean! Close to ski resorts and lake.
Stayed at this cabin with my husband and three boys. Super fun decor and and very clean. All three boys slept underneath the cozy tent while it snowed :) the surrounding area seemed really nice. Alothough, it was covered in feet of snow, looks like it would be an awesome stay during summer as well. Close to the parks and beach. Everything was Perfecto!

Cabinlicious is right!
Thank you so much! We had a lovely time. Cabinlicious is right! The home is beautifully decorated, has a good size kitchen, cozy living room, complete with fireplace and fuzzy furniture! We loved eating dinner at the long wooden table. And how long has it been since you sat in a swing?! I think I liked that more than my kid. Each bedroom feels like it is it’s own special space. (We only used two.) Big yard for kids romping and building snowmen. Plus, across the street is a wooded park. We went straight down to the Lake Tahoe Beach. Snowball fight! We had been thinking about coming to this very VRBO since it popped up a little while ago. The location is perfect for us being near cross-country and downhill skiing… (Can’t wait to come back in the summer and swim and hike.) When I saw the last review, we almost didn’t book, but I am so glad we did! The VRBO contact was sweet and informative about local resources, like the best locals’ bar and ski resorts with kids, plus the nearby Sugar Pine Cakery. Yum! I am a big cook, and thought the cabin was plenty well stocked. (The wine/drink fridge even had some wines in it!) Btw, you feel like a local here, just outside of town, with good proximity to everything.

Extremely Small Space and RUDE Owner
We have rented homes all over the country and had Amazing experiences but this is the first HORRIBLE experience we have ever had! We arrived a bit early and contacted the owner, we just wanted to put perishables in fridge and my girls wanted to play outside in the snow. The owner was very unhappy we were early which I apologized. Later we asked for a strainer (basic kitchen supply) and received a text that we were acting "Entitled." There is no real adult sized furniture in the small living room space (no sofa or adult chairs) only small bean bag chairs and two swing chairs more suited for children. The back wall has a very large table which is nice but wasted use of space which this place has limited! Beware the heating unit is very loud and we had to shut the vents upstairs due to the heat rising to an uncomfortable level.
Furthermore, we could not get the upstairs shower to work but based on the horrible interactions with the owner, we informed her only after we checked out Saturday morning (10am), that we were unable to use the upstairs shower during our stay. The owner sent a text almost two days later at 12:07AM threatening to withhold our deposit because of getting a plumber there on Sunday!? She has a lot to learn about being a host and we have filed a complaint with VRBO. We don't recommend this property as its not worth the headache, limited space and minimal supplies in the house. There are so many other properties with amazing owners/hosts go there first and avoid this place!!

Good little place to come with the family
The place was nice and in a great neighborhood. When we got inside it was a little smaller than expected but cozy none the less. Comfortably sleeps 5 people but with the floor bed you can get 6. Sarah was very attentative when we needed anything or had questions. Overall we enjoyed the stay!
