Nestled only 1/3 mile away from a sandy path to the beach you will feel right at home at, Carleton Shores, a private beach side and predominately year round residential community. This charming Cape style home features 4 bedrooms (2 bedrooms with 1 queen in each, one bedroom with a queen bed and two twin beds and one bedroom with 2 twin beds), 2 full baths plus outside shower, family sized living room with sliders onto a large deck, open kitchen, hardwood floors, washer and dryer, WIFI, Cable TV, large yard for outdoor games after a day at the beach, enclosed outdoor shower with hot and cold water, and a patio fully equipped with furniture and a gas grill for outdoor dining. Home is clean and spacious.

Easy access to historic Rt 6A and the Cape highway. Short drive to Hyannis, Barnstable, and Sandwich Village where you can enjoy restaurants, shopping, whale watching, and more!

Very convenient access to the beach. Sometimes we drove and used the provided parking pass and sometimes we road our bikes or just walked as it is just down the street and around the corner. The house has great bones and the owner has done some nice exterior upgrades. The interior and some furniture could use updating but is inline with other traditional Cape Cod properties.Overall we very much enjoyed our stay.

The house was perfect for our family vacation. Located in a very quiet residential area, it leaves behind the chaos and traffic found in other areas of the Cape. It was a short walk down the street to the beach parking area where the trailhead starts. Being a private beach, there were times we were the only ones walking the shores. The water is calm and clear and refreshingly chilly on a hot summer day. The beach is a mix of lovely sand and pebbles, so water shoes or sandals are useful. At low tide, a beautiful sand bar is exposed and we spent hours exploring. The house itself was great for what we needed; it had enough space for six of us without feeling cramped. The outdoor shower was amazingly useful and the deck off the back of the house is brand new and great for morning coffee. The kitchen is well stocked with hardware for cooking, just make sure to bring or buy spices and condiments as none were there from previous guests. Like most other Cape rentals, you'll also need to bring bed linens and towels. The owners were friendly and great to work with and it helped make the whole experience that much better. This house has a nice layout for a group and our family of 8 had plenty of space. The large breezeway/entry was great for keeping beach gear organized and the outdoor shower was fantastic. We especially appreciated the stepping stones between the shower and the house so clean feet can stay sand-free on the way in.

Cozy, clean and private. Spacious enough for 8-9 people. Beautiful deck and outside shower. A few pantry essentials would have been nice. If you like rocky beach, then this is for you.

We stayed in the Sandwich house in August. The house was well kept and had the basic necessities. A few more kitchen supplies would be useful but everything else was perfect. The short walk to the private beach was a 10/10!

Wonderful house and beach for families

There is nothing like being able to walk to the beach!! The kids rode their scooters, the adults followed along with the toddler in tow, and one of us drove the heavier items to the never crowded parking lot. The beach was perfect; even in low tide, the water is not far out. Do remember to bring water shoes since the beach is rocky. The house was very clean and comfortable. We especially enjoyed the deck, the big yard, and the fact that the house is set back from the road and the kids can play outside freely. We would gladly stay here again!

Thank you Rob for sharing your darling Cape Cod house with us! The house had all the comforts of home and a great walking location to the beach. The deck and outdoor shower were our favorite, along with the walkability to the beach. Rob was a great communicator and the house was dialed in. The beach walk was easy and through a beautiful neighborhood. The house was clean and spacious. Will definitely return.

Family Time

We all enjoyed our stay in East Sandwich. There was plenty of room for my 2 daughters, their husbands and 2 granddaughters, ages 4 and 2. Great deck/backyard for hanging out, grilling. Beach was close and very private. Rocky beach, but not a problem once we acquired flip flops. House was clean and comfortable. Overall, excellent experience!

Great vacation in East Sandwich

We had a great family vacation in East Sandwich. The house was plenty big to accommodate our family of nine and it was a very quiet and private location. We had a short walk to a very nice private beach. We had terrific weather so we spent most of our week at the beach but we did play a little tennis at the courts and some cornhole in the backyard. There were quite a few small rocks and pebbles on the beach so each shoes are recommended. We enjoyed the sandbar at the beach. They only negative was the number of horseshoe flies but we did not let those aggravating pests put a damper on our vacation. We ate out twice. The Pilot house was a seafood and steak restaurant and Amalia which was a nice Italian restaurant. All in all we had a very enjoyable and relaxing vacation.

This property was such a good choice for our party of 9! It was away from the busy city and so relaxing and peaceful, and the beach was easily accessible (our favorite part!). The owners, Rob and Cheryl, were very helpful, and they were available should we have needed anything! I would highly recommend this property, and I would definitely choose to stay here again should we find ourselves headed toward the Cape!

Rob and Cheryl's home couldn't have been more perfect. Very nice layout. Spacious bedrooms with a great mix of beds to accommodate my family. The beach is nearby, the yard and back deck beautiful. It was perfect for our two grandsons to run around. Would definitely recommend and will stay again! The lemon pie they left for us was a big hit!! Thank you for sharing your home!

Celebrated my 50th at this beautiful place only a five minute walk from the beach. Thanks to Rob and Cheryl for making it extra special upon arriving.I was really touched with the balloons, champagne, pie and sand dollar keepsake. Lovely deck for early morning coffees with the birds and my favourite thing was the outdoor shower. Highly recommended. We look forward to visiting again !

A wise choice for our vacation lodging

I looked at several VRBO sites for our group of six and we all agreed we could not have made a better selection. This home is as advertised: clean and spacious. It is indeed just a very short walk to the beach and the access to Rt 6A could not have been easier. The neighborhood was very private and quiet. The home is well maintained, and the deck, large back yard and outdoor shower allowed us to spread out and enjoy a bit of privacy when we were there. I would not hesitate to recommend this proprty and hope I am able to return again in the future.

The house and property had plenty of room inside and out. We loved being so close to the beach and went every day. Although any time of day was good and the beach is never crowded, we liked being there at low tide when we could go out on the sand bar. The house is close to Sandwich to get groceries or go to any of the local shops. We definitely recommend and would stay here again.

We had a wonderful week at Rob and Cheryl's home in Sandwich. We rented the property with friends and had several young children with us between the three families. The home was more than large enough to accommodate everyone and they have a beautiful yard that is perfect for relaxing in after a long day at the beach. The bedrooms are extremely large which was just what we needed to fit all the pack n' plays! Only about a 5 minute walk to a quiet beach, the children thoroughly enjoyed playing on the sand bar during low tide. Would definitely recommend this property to friends!

Being off 6A, away from all the 4th of July traffic and only a 5-minute walk to the beach made our vacation. Yet we were tucked away among the trees and the turkeys in a private location. We particularly appreciated the spaciousness of the rooms in the house. We loved the back deck and the outside hot and cold shower was a big plus! Looking forward to coming back next year! 4 best friends from childhood wanted to take a trip to celebrate us all turning 50. We wanted something relatively close. We found this cute home for rent in east sandwich, cape cod. Nice short walk to private beach area, woke up Saturday morning to wild turkey's in the yard, awesome outside shower and a nice distance to Provincetown. Rob and Cheryl were most accommodating and available by cell when needed. We will be back and would highly recommend this place for a family vacation of small group of adults. You won't be disappointed.

My husband and I stayed here with my sister’s family and our grandparents. The house was a perfect size for the 8 of us and very clean. The beach had extremely clear water and at low tide we enjoyed walking the sand flats. The large backyard is perfect to let the kids play and the street is not busy. Rob was easy to work with and knowledgeable of the area. We would recommend this home to our friends.

We had 6 women for a girls weekend and the property was perfect. Very clean (and we had a couple of cleanliness neurotics) and comfortable. Everything was as advertised and we were able to relax and enjoy our stay.
