I recently had the misfortune booking Quavers Rest, and the experience left us thoroughly disappointed and disgusted. From the moment we arrived, the lack of signage at the location set the tone for what would become a dreadful 10-minute experience. We should have been at this property 3 nights, but yes you read correctly we were there 10 minutes.
One of the most glaring issues was the absence of any clear indication of which property was Quavers Rest's. The lack of proper signage made it difficult to locate the accommodation. I utilised the pin code given to establish which accommodate was ours the only logical and sensible option or so I thought! Our nightmare began when we consequently entered the wrong accommodation. The owner, was shockingly rude and aggressive. Instead of a warm welcome, I was met with condescending remarks and a dismissive attitude. The host's behaviour was not only discourteous but also entirely unprofessional, making it clear that customer service is not a priority. What struck me even more was the blatant disregard for the human rights of disabled people. The host seemed entirely indifferent to the challenges faced by those with physical and mental disabilities and how her blatant rudeness not only rattled me but my disabled partner, to the point we got back in the car and returned home. During a telephone call I made to the owner to polity advise her that we would not be stopping, due to the incident that had occurred when we arrived and it would be safer for myself as a carer and my partner that we left, It was suggest to me “if your partner is so disabled maybe, you should plan better and not enter the wrong accommodation or perhaps stay at home” Overall, my experience at Quavers Rest was nothing short of a disaster. The absence of signage, coupled with a rude and unprofessional host, made the gift, that I had brought with the best intentions. miserable.

Quavers Rest was excellent for a couples getaway.
Clean, cosy and everything you need. Gwyneth was the perfect host, very attentive.
Hot tub is lovely - could do with being a little hotter!
Could do with the addition of a hand held shower too.

The location was lovely, a very peaceful and quiet village.

Everything was in proportion furniture wise and had everything you could possibly need to cook a four course meal, except we couldn't locate a saucepan.
The location was perfect for our trip. Skye, our Frenchie was more than comfortable. Was great to find a pet friendly let.
On booking.com it didn't really explain that there was an extra charge for the hot tub however we paid the £50 on arrival and felt it was slightly over priced for the less than a hours use.
Also late checkout option was overlooked as we had requested to check out 10-11:00.

The room was laid out very thoughtfully so had everything we needed in the small space, the bed, sofa, dining table and kitchen. The bed was very comfy and there was a varied book case with card games and a few DVDs as well although the TV was logged in to Netflix and other streaming services so there was plenty to watch! The area is very secluded with sheep and chickens just across the green and lots to do a short drive away, we saw wildlife at Knettishall Heath Country Park and the town of Thetford with its river walk and priory ruins was surprisingly lovely! The host provided a welcome guide with restaurant/takeaway, walk and activity suggestions which was helpful. Everywhere else was a bit of a drive away but it was a great base for us to see Suffolk (and Norfolk).
I didn’t realise it was a studio, not a massive issue but just not what I was expecting. Also the ‘garden’ was just the path from the driveway and not private as, although we only saw the gardener, there are a couple of other properties as well as the host’s home so there were cars and people coming and going. The hot tub was also across the drive.

We had a lovely relaxing break.
The place was stunning, so nicely done and immaculately clean. It had everything you could want and the host was very helpful and attentive.
It's in a perfect location to explore both Norfolk and Suffolk.
We would recommend this to family and friends and we would definitely stay again.
Wouldn't change a thing.

Nice surrounding area
FLY AND LARVAE INFESTATION. We booked for 5 days and 4 nights, but after one night we left. We took videos and the owner saw it with her own eyes and she STILL refuses to give us compensation. She offered to smoke bomb the property but with an autistic daughter and a dog and no offer as to where we were to go this offer was ludicrous.

What an absolute gem of a place! I will most definitely be back, it's a gorgeous room, stunning bathroom and so lovely a peaceful, the added luxury of a private hot tub was a real cherry on top! Hosts are friendly and right there should we need them, free parking, great communication, I have already sent the link to several friends who I know will really love this place.
Some lights in the hot tub area would be useful so we could get in while it's dark and still read.

It was all together very pleasant.
The fridge switching on and off kept waking us .

The decor was cosy and very inviting. Hot tub was always ready for our exclusive use. The facilities were very good with a washing machine, dish washer, cooker and microwave for us to use along with all the pots, pans and utensils. Good location close to Thetford and the woods. Very peaceful.
The fact the the crockery wasn't microwavable was about of an issue.
The bed was on wheels and would slide away from the wall as we were sleeping which would make the pillows fall down and wake us up.

The room was lovely and great value
Quite far from everything but that's normal in Norfolk!

The property is set in a beautiful tranquil village, there are no shops or pubs, Thetford is only a 10 min drive away, for the train station, pubs, restaurants, food shopping and retail and all the car parks are free to park.
we went to the next 2 villages and had food there, on a couple of occasions.
The property is well thought out and has everything for self catering is in there, the wet room is fantastic and the outside space is adequate.
parking is a bit tight, but if you follow the owners instructions there’s plenty of room.
The hot tub with Quavers rest is in its own little covered area across the driveway, and it can be made very private by closing the patio doors and curtains, so it can be used all year round.
The host Gwentyh was lovely, we felt so relaxed there and we was lucky with the weather, and the big fan was handy.
it has a washing machine and a dishwasher, which again was a bonus, lovely gesture by the owner flowers, a bottle of wine and a lovely little card.
There was plenty of places to visit and it surprised us, with going in land in Norfolk this year.
we will definitely return some time in the future.

Perfect location for a peaceful getaway yet not too far from places to explore such as Thetford Forest, Bury St Edmunds or even a trip on the train into Cambridge! The kitchen was well equipped with everything you could need for your stay and the wine and flowers on arrival were a lovely touch! Gwyneth was so friendly and attentive!

No breakfast
Banging of doors from the owners property next door at 5 am every morning and not being able to park near our apartment because they were having tree chopped down.
