This home was good. Dated, but still a nice place to stay. It has a wonderful view of Seattle.

Beautiful and peaceful. We sat on the porch and watched a family of otters swim around and then climb the rocks. We went down to the rocky beach at low tide. It was amazing.
The kitchen is well stocked. We were able to cook dinner there and breakfast easily. The beds were comfortable… and it was nice that it also had a pull out porch.
The beds and decorating are basic. But we were comfortable and happy. The view is the best feature of all. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We had an absolute wonderful stay here. The house was perfect for my family of 4. Beds were comfortable, there was enough kitchen supplies for us to make food, and the place was very clean. But the view is why we fell in love with this house. The house is right on the ocean and you have a direct view of the Seattle skyline. We spent hours just looking out at the ocean and even were lucky enough to spot some otters. It was absolutely fabulous and I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Incredible beachfront property views of Seattle across the sound! Can watch, dolphins, seals, great blue heron, eagles all while seated in an arm chair, looking out the front window!

The house is located with a perfect view of Puget Sound and the Seattle skyline. You could sit in front of the big picture windows all day and watch the changing scenery - including birds, otters and even a coyote on the beach.
The bedrooms were comfortable and the kitchen well equipped.
A couple of issues - despite a description of ‘beach access’ there is no safe way to get to the beach in front of the house. We did end up carefully crawling down the rocks and basically trespassed in a neighbor’s yard to get safely back up.
Also the sun deck off the kitchen needs some repairs. The deck boards had seen better days, and it didn’t feel sturdy to sit out there for long.
Also - would recommend some type of shades for the picture windows because it gets very hot in the living room (even in April) when the sun comes out.

just amazingly beautiful

After reading the reviews both good and bad I decided to give this place a chance.
Yes it was dated… something’s did not work as well had it been a newer place. A garage should not have been advertised unless there was instructions to access it. A few disclosures would have been nice however the spaciousness of the space and that incredible view made up for anything that was lacking. Our three night stay was very relaxing. Sure beats staying in a cramped motel.!!

Overall, it was more of the location than the home itself. Absolutely loved the view of the Seattle skyline. Home could use some updating, especially the carpet. I'd recommend staying here with more than 2 people to make it more worth the while.

Where do I start? Let me first say that the view is wonderful, and the property is close to both Ferry dock and Winslow shops/restaurants.
However-- the railing on the steps down to the property was our first sign of neglect. The left side was not secured to the concrete and was quite unstable. The photos do not show the two sets of stone steps that lead to the ramp (which is pictured). Not accessible for anyone with mobility issues-- stairs should be photographed and disclosed.
Also the "beach access" really only exists if you are a mountain goat. There is no path do the beach-- just an unmaintained ledge that drops off. The property is a striking contrast to its neighbors.
There were other safely issues--the stairway betw the levels has no railing-- and the threshold on the top stair is loose with an inch gap (an accident waiting to happen). The bathtub/shower is molded plastic-- with no bathmat in tub, and no grab bars.
Other areas of neglect: The bedroom screens were so dirty you cannot see through them. I don't want to blame this on housekeeping who are likely doing their job-- it's just that the property is so neglected there are isn't much to work with.
The VRBO as says "updated kitchen". Huh?? Maybe in the 1970's. But the worst was finding mouse droppings in the kitchen drawers-- and this was in the upper unit.
I see from prior reviews that many of these issues have been reported previously, and still exist.

The view from this unit were spectacular! The home was warm and cozy. The private beach was enjoyable at low tide. We enjoyed watching the wildlife of the beach including Eagles, Sea otters, ducks and more. The boat activity, ferries, and the airplanes were very active.

We were unable to stay at the property at all due to a previous guest who was still there when we arrived and they refused to leave. Police were called by property management, but the previous guest had also caused damage, so our reservation was canceled. Still trying to sort out with the property manager to get the refund, as there is miscommunication between their main office and local property management. We would have loved to be able to say we had a pleasant stay in this VRBO, and we understand that the property owner could not have foreseen that a previous guest would be so horrible, I just wish we weren't waiting in the dark for them to refund our payment.

great sound views, visited by a family of otters 2 of our 3 days

But the house itself is very old and in need of repairs. Steps and porch and railings feel unsafe. Towels are old and thin. No AC!
We had a fabulous time anyway!

The view from the unit was amazing. The unit is dated which was expected, but it was clean and the beds were comfortable. The only issue was with the garbage. There were no directions on how to handle the trash and we could not find the recycle bin. Plus there were no extra trash bags.

The panoramic view of the Seattle skyline and the Puget Sound from this Rockaway Beach property is simply unbeatable and reason enough to stay here. This is the top floor of a home. (The lower level is also a rental). The interior space is functional and spacious. The hosts provide clean linens/bedding and towels, as well as a great "starter kit" of supplies for the kitchen and bathroom. It appears the owners have done some small updates inside and those help the guest experience already. There is no A/C and the living room is the only room with a ceiling fan. So, if you are someone who likes air flow or sleeping with a fan, I would bring your own. Improvements to both the front and back decking would enhance the guest experience even more! Overall, this is a lovely rental in a prime location (a quiet neighborhood close to stores and the ferry terminal), with a simply unforgettable view and small beach. Would definitely stay there again.

I am giving this a three star instead of 5 only because the house itself has maintenance issues which I plan to discuss with Vacasa. However, the view is a 5++++. It's absolutely amazing. You are directly across from the Seattle skyline. At night the colors are like Disneyland. It is beautiful. The water is full of sea creatures and the boat traffic (sailboats and ferries) are constantly in view to watch.

Location, location, location. This house is in a great location. The views are unbeatable. The sound of the waves put you to sleep.
Our stay was in the upper home. The home is a bit "dated" but super clean. We will definitely be back!

The property manager, VACASA sent updates but we had to request the property address numerous times, right up to the hours before checking in. The property itself is very nice, great views, great location, and comfortable. Only a Keurig, no coffee pot, and it was a mess trying to make coffee in the morning. There was no internet as promised in the listing, and VACASA texted that a router was being delivered two days after we check out. Not much help. Assuming the internet is connected and the owners buy a garage sale coffee maker we would recommend this property. For out of state visitors, be aware that the people in the Northwest are mask-obsessed. Even people walking their dogs alone were wearing masks!

I rented this home in to attend an online conference over the weekend. When I arrived, I was able to connect to the wireless network but there was no internet access available. When I investigated, I found that the wireless router was incorrectly plugged into a wall telephone jack with telephone line. I searched the home but was unable to find a cable modem to plug the router into. When I contacted Vacasa support (the property manager), they said that Century Link (internet provider) would have to come investigate, but they would not be able to get to the home until after my planned check-out time. Since I could not attend my online conference, I had to return home earlier than planned.
I was also unable to find a way to lock the front door from inside the home.
The home is older, but was clean and in good condition when I arrived. The view is beautiful and the location is easy to access.

Oh boy, where do I begin. I know that long reviews can be overwhelming, but bear with me. This is a wild ride.
Before I get going, I would like to say very loudly and repeatedly that Vacasa themselves did a WONDERFUL job helping us out with the many issues we had. Again, Vacasa's phone staff and their local person Keira were absolutely amazing. Good, helpful people.
To start, the photos accurately show the location, size, and layout of the house, and the view is astonishingly beautiful. At high tide, the Salish Sea comes right up to the lawn. It's maybe 20-30 feet from the upstairs balcony, and that was definitely a magical experience.
Right at the beginning, we had a lot of trouble finding the location because there were no lights highlighting the house numbers. This would be okay if our designated parking space was not filled when we arrived, or if there were any kind of signs or arrows showing you where to go. The entrances to the top and bottom units are confusing to access. (We'll come back to this later.) To the credit of the owner, it does say that you should bring a flashlight to carry with you.
The stairs down to the unit are VERY rickety, the railings (which were TEEMING with literally hundreds of pillbugs, which is not their fault, but there were so, so many I had to keep sweeping them off to get a handhold.) were shaky and the combination made it really difficult to navigate in the dark. There are several spots where the wood of the stairs and the little footbridge are very soft. The location is 100% not accessible, so if you have any kind of walking disability at all, this is not for you. I mean this. You will not be able to safely get a chair or walker down.
The little deck at the bottom of the stairs is lovely. The keypad worked fine, the house is cute from outside, etc. The inside was welcoming and tidy, and again, that view. No legit, it's the most amazing view.
The kitchen is very cute and cozy, what my family and I would call a 'two butt kitchen,' because that's about how many people can fit in. That was perfect for us, as we only have two butts between us. They did provide a lot of different things, but if you're staying for more than a couple of days you will absolutely want to bring your own pans, knives, and wineglasses. There are spices, and a lot of other basic things like that. The stove and oven both work.
The bathroom is very small, and also not accessible. It was well-stocked for the most part with plenty of towels.
The bedrooms were both well-stocked with lots of extra linens and pillows. The mattresses were really hard, if that's not your thing. There was a provided box fan, which we needed to run because you could clearly hear the neighbors talking through the floor vents. It helped to drown out the sound.
There is a ceiling fan in the living room area, but we couldn't get the fan to work. There was a provided remote control that had a fan printed on it, but it didn't do anything. We suspect the batteries may be dead, but the controller is screwed shut so we couldn't test.
Okay, so, here is where things get screwy.
INFO: No info was left. Usually in Vacasa rentals, we'll find a binder with house rules, locations of safety features, local places of interest, etc. There was not one. We had to search for everything. 'House rules' are listed in the Vacasa app, but that's about it. The only informational thing we found was a recycling guide, which was helpful.
INTERNET: We picked this place because of the view (duh) and the fact that they had internet. We had to stay in touch with someone back home, and the internet would not work. At all. We tried the password they gave us, no dice. We called Vacasa just because it was something we needed for various reasons. We passed up other places for not having wifi. Anyway, they ...
