About this bed and breakfast
This charming one bedroom cottage in Healdsburg is known as the bunkhouse at side road farm built in 1949. The bunkhouse is 592 ft.² consisting of a bedroom with vaulted ceiling’s and hardwood floor’s queen size bed and walk-in closet. The living room has a smart TV, couch and table and chairs with a kitchen nook that includes a mini refrigerator/freezer microwave and Keurig coffee maker. The bathroom has a remodeled shower stall, sink with large counter space and a toilet. The property sits on over 3 acres of land that once was an old horse ranch. However today it is the home of Side Road farm. We are a farm specializing in fruits and vegetables along with a small flock of chickens including a rooster. There is a black lab named Suzy on the property. We are in walking distance to 3 wineries. Your hosts live on the property with their dog. We are available if needed to help with your stay.

The location is wonderful for hitting wineries in the Healdsburg, Geyserville and Sebastopol areas. The bunkhouse itself is charming and nicely equipped, and Sue was a pleasure to work with. Would happily stay here again!

Sue and Ed were fantastic hosts, leaving us to our own plans but willingly offering recommendations on sites to see, wineries to visit, places to eat. Everything was fantastic. I'd highly recommend this place as a great getaway location. We will be back!

Sue was a wonderful hostess. We also loved the area being just outside of Healdsburg so both wineries and restaurants were close.

Excellent property and location. We loved it. We weren't able to enjoy the outside because it rained all weekend, but it was the perfect place for R&R - quiet and rural but still very close to town. Sue is a great host - thanks again, Sue!

Suzanne is an outstanding host and this property has everything.... proximity to Healdsburg while also making you feel
a world away when you are on the property! The Bunkhouse is cozy and private, and the views of the Dry Creek Valley are breathtaking! We will be back!

We love the bunkhouse. Just right for the two of us to relax and make it our base camp for wine country tours and tasting.

Would be perfectly convenient place to stay if not for the heat wave (July) - while it's listed as having A/C, it is not central air, only a portable unit on one side of the bunkhouse. When we arrived it was not yet turned on... in >100 degree heat. Until the temperatures outside cooled after 2 days, the house was not comfortable.
That said, if traveling in a cooler month, it is a very cute spot, the hosts are very kind and helpful, and it was a great location.

Beautiful farmhouse feel on Westside Road, perfect location for visiting wineries and downtown Healdsburg. Sue provided all the touches from fresh flowers to coffee (enough even for us and we drink a lot of coffee!), to water and wine waiting in the fridge. Perfect.

I can't say enough wonderfulf things about our stay! Sue was the perfect host and the space was immaculate. Comfortable bed, good sized closet to stow suitcases & hang clothes, nice hot shower & a comfy couch. There's a small fridge with a top freezer, a microwave & a keurig, which worked fine for us. The location is excellent. Minutes from downtown, wineries, restaurants, and a Safeway conveniently down the street. Honestly, we can't say enough good things and can't wait for our next visit!

Lovely Westside Experience
What a lovely weekend I had at Sue’s Bunkhouse on the Westside of Healdsburg. The place was charming, welcoming, clean, comfortable and serene in the heart of the Wine Country. If you like the country, you will love this little cabin surrounded by the sights and sounds of good country living. Sue thoughtfully provided me with wonderfully delicious chocolates, candied walnuts, cookies, bottled water, and the best bottle of wine straight from a local vineyard! Conveniently located, I easily went to/from the quaint and historic town of Healdsburg, as well as enjoyed local quiet walks through the redwoods, and a bicycle ride on a mountain loop overlooking the Wine Country at Foothill Regional Park which is within a short drive away. I would highly recommend Sue’s Bunkhouse for your next vacation get-away to the wine country! It was superb! Thank you again, Sue, for taking such good, quality care of me during my visit.

A Comfy Place
Location: Beautiful area full of vineyards. Great access to 101 Fwy. to visit friends in Geyserville, Windsor and Cotati. Westside nearby road provides an alternate route toward Sebastopol or Gurneville for coastal access in Bodega Bay and beyond. Sleeping: The bed and pillows were wonderful. Flannel sheets warmed quickly through the night. It’s a farm and there is a rooster. After the first night wife didn’t hear it but it bothered husband. Host kindly provided earplugs but hubby has big ear holes; wouldn’t stay in. Host might want to provide an assortment of sizes. He found the pillow-over-the -head helped. Eating: Kitchen/eating supplies were adequate for microwave cooking. We told the host that we drank decalf and she made sure there was plenty of decalf K- Cups for the coffee maker. We brought additional. Host left us a nice bottle of wine, fresh fruit and some candied walnuts (made there). Lovely fresh tulips and daffodils were in the living room and bedroom. Environment: There are lots of windows in the bunkhouse to let the sun shine in. Husband loved the shower; had excellent water pressure.. There are games, books and periodicals for reading. The host put together a nice information notebook for us to navigate Healdsburg.

Perfect Weekend Getaway
What a cozy little place! Sue was a great comunicator and greeted us upon checking in. The bunk house is located on their cute farm. We were pleasantly surprised at how big it actually was, my expectations were definitely exceeded. It's close to downtown Healdsburg and all the little shops, and even walking distance to 2 wineries. Will definitely be looking at this place again when we decide to come back to Healdsburg! Thanks Sue!!

Comfortable and convenient
I spent four days at the Bunkhouse and found it to be a wonderfully comfortable getaway. I enjoyed the convenience of getting into town as well as the privacy and quiet of being in the rural farmlands. Sue checked in to make sure I had everything I needed, which I did.

The perfect secret getaway in Healdsburg
This charming property was located a few hundred feet away from Twomey vineyards and just 5 minutes from town. Our host was responsive and attentive. Sue left inviting touches throughout the bunkhouse, which was clean, relaxing and so comfortable. Would highly recommend this excellent “find” for any couple looking to get away.

Cute cottage with some infrastructure issues
This is a very cute cottage outside of Healdsburg. Two separate room with a full bath in between, nicely decorated in a farmhouse style.
We love the location and the cabin, but it had a couple fatal flaws: at least during out visit, there was virtually no water pressure on the cold water, meaning the sink was a trickle, the shower was barely a trickle since it was 99% hot water (too hot to use), and even the toilet would not refill for 10-15 minutes after each flush. Our host did her best to get this fixed during our stay, but we ended up literally refilling the toilet with 2-gallon bottles so it could be flushed without waiting so long.
Initially, the wifi was also very slow - too slow to stream videos or watch movies - but this was updated during our stay and seemed to get better.
Overall, I would still return if -- and only if -- the plumbing was brought back to a full working standard. Once that is fixed, this is a peaceful and cozy retreat.
Note there is no full kitchen, only a mini-fridge, microwave and coffee maker.

Quaint Country Cottage
It was a perfect weekend getaway! Quiet, quaint and cozy....we had a lovely time at the cottage, and the hosts were so nice and accommodating. From making sure the cottage was “COVID clean,” to providing a bottle of wine and a bouquet of flowers... the owners went above and beyond. As a professional working in the hospitality industry, they provided an exceptional experience. I strongly recommend it for a couple looking for a wine country retreat.

Perfect wine country getaway
We were greeted with a bottle of wine and a smile. We had to visit Healdsburg and wanted something that would feel “safe” during Covid. You have every reason to feel like you are on a vacation here. The owners are friendly, helpful and their dog Dakota leads the welcoming committee. Super clean property, great outdoor spaces to enjoy the stars and all of the amenities you need. It’s on a small hobby farm and they shared beautiful peaches and gave us dried persimmons and candies walnuts. We are already planning our return.

Wine Country Escape on Westside Road
Had a wonderful getaway in the Bunkhouse. It's close enough to town, while also being in the country and feeling like we were "away from it all". Outside of the water issues (problems with the well) our stay was great and Suzanne was great to work with.

Perfect getaway weekend
This property is perfect for a romantic getaway. Located just a few miles from downtown Healdsburg, the setting is absolutely beautiful and tranquil. The cottage is the perfect size for 2 people. We enjoyed excursions every day but were back home to relax each evening, enjoying the comfortable couch and Netflix. Sue thought of everything! There were yummy treats, a bottle of wine, maps, magazines, and two for 1 coupons for local wine tasting. She was able to offer suggestions of fun things to do and great places to eat. The bed was SO comfortable. We can't wait to return.

Lovely cottage in wine country
A perfect little cottage for our wine country stay. After the fire, Healdsburg remains a charming town with no visible damage or smoke remains. This cottage is very central for wine tasting and meals in town.

Sweet spot close to town
A lovely little getaway spot that's close to numerous Wineries and Downtown Healdsburg. Suzanne was very hospitable and responsive. A bottle of chilled Sauvignon Blanc was refreshing after a long day of travel. Although I'm typically reluctant to stay in places where there's not a full kitchen, this was actually a blessing in disguise. This compelled us to go into town and sample some of the amazing restaurants.

Perfect weekend getaway
The Bunkhouse was just the perfect place for my husband and I to stay during our weekend getaway to cycle the Tour de Vine. Sparkling clean, lots of nice extra touches (thanks for the dried pears, Sue!), super comfy bed, within walking distance to several wineries, and only a short drive to charming downtown Healdsburg.
Sue went above and beyond to stay in touch with me regarding their electricity status following the Northern CA-wide power outages inflicted on us by PG&E.
It all worked out great - Sue and Edward are super hosts. Hope to be back!
