We enjoyed most of our stay, the house is beautiful and the location right around the corner from a playground was ideal for our toddler. However, the curtains are basically sheer white fabric, which don't block light at all. As it's summer, this meant we were up at 5am. We actually chose to explore town all day Saturday then leave late in the evening, rather than stay the second night we had booked. Would definitely recommend bringing an eye mask or something.

Enjoyed our stay! For it being an old house, the unit was very charming, clean and well stocked. The best feature is the location-loved that we could walk to everything.

We've now stayed in all three apartments in this house and each has their own charms. This unit, was great for a getaway where old friends joined us. They took the sofabed and we had the bedroom. All comfortable, although the bed is pretty soft, and we had plenty of room to visit, cook a meal, etc. The kitchenette is small, but has everything we needed to make a few meals, coffee every day, and have plenty of snacks and together time. The views from the bedroom are spectacular, and the house is perfectly located in Uptown.

We couldn’t have found a better place for a weekend getaway! It was really spacious for two, clean, had all the amenities to cook the food we brought, walking distance from the waterfront/downtown and Fort Worden, great view of the Sound and Mt Rainier, an awesome bathtub for a hot bath after a walk in the cold, and the bed was the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. We definitely plan on coming back whenever never need a break.

In Town Haven
I stayed with my 3 grandchildren in this property for a few days and it was perfect for our needs! We could walk everywhere we wanted to go, enjoyed seeing deer roaming the neighborhood, even used the backyard swing. Comfortable, cozy and immaculate.

We really liked the space. Convenient to Water Street - 5 minute walk. Beautiful neighborhood with views of the water. Easy parking.
The apartment is bright and welcoming.
The bed is the most comfortable bed I have slept in at a VRBO. I really wish there were blackout drapes as the curtains let in sunlight early in the morning.
We appreciated the air conditioning but didn’t know how to set it to be cool and not freezing cold.
Could not get roku to work and TV/cable options were not great. Bring a laptop to watch movies.
The sofa bed was comfortable enough.
The kitchen is equipped with all utensils and gadgets you need. Bring your own olive oil, tea, spices.
The bathroom is nice. The shower is very light pressure.
Thanks to our hosts for making this such a wonderful stay!

Fantastic location and a wonderful stay
We had a wonderful stay at the property - the location of the property allowed us quick access to the most fun parts of the city, with a lovely artisan bread shop nearby for breakfast. The manager was quick to respond to our needs. Water temperature was a little tricky to maneuver in the showers.

Uptown and Downtown were accessible. Good kitchen for cooking and dining in. Beds comfortable.

Spotless in a Perfect Location
This adorable apartment is in a perfect location, walking distance to Water street and the beautiful surrounding neighborhoods. The view of the area was amazing, with water and mountain views. It. Was. SPOTLESS. I'm not sure I've ever seen a place so clean. Had everything we needed except a wine opener. Be sure to check the closet in the bathroom to find the (10 cup!) coffee maker and linens for the sofa bed. Getting in and out of the place was so easy with a numeric code. Stairs are steep, so be careful, but this is normal in a Victorian home. There is an air conditioner in the bedroom if you need it - we did not turn on the cool air, even in July it never gets too hot - but used the fan for circulation and white noise to sleep. I was especially grateful for the soft and beautiful carpet in the bedroom on chilly mornings. The only thing I wished was different was having some thicker curtains in the bedroom. (In the summer, 5:30am looks the same as 8:30am, and the curtains, while beautiful, let in all the light. It was hard to go back to sleep.) Thankful for the ease of communication with Kelly, who responded to our questions right away and was gracious about letting us leave 15 minutes late after being unavoidably detained. I stayed here with my husband and two children, ages 9 and 11.

Clean and comfy; close to everything
Great location, just a few blocks from town. We had beautiful weather, which always helps. The flat was very clean and the bed was extra comfortable. You should bring herbs and spices along if you plan to cook. On the other hand, you could enjoy the many options for take out or dining. We highly recommend renting bikes (or better yet, electric bikes) from Broken Spoke. It’s a great way to explore the area.

We loved The People’s House. It was the perfect distance from downtown, the marina, and Upper Town. There was a lot of attention to detail. Everything we needed was already supplied by Kelly. The apartment itself was spotless and very charming everywhere we looked. The bed and bedding was super comfortable, and the views were beautiful. We stayed a week and could have stayed longer!
