History – The Apple Knoll was built in 1830 and first used as a sheep farm. It's a Georgian style timber frame house with views of the West River, shire of Weston, and Mounts Tabor Mansfield and Equinox. In the year built, Merino wool prices spiked to 50 cents a pound and VT experienced the “Great Torrent”, the worst flooding in a century. Over the next 30 years VT saw its first railroad, spread of the abolitionist movement, a booming economy first in agriculture then forestry mining and manufacturing, and outbreak of the Civil War.

Picked this venue after seeing the offered amenities. Kitchen had high end appliances. Unfortunately ice maker was not available. Lovely back yard with big fire pit with seasoned wood delivered by caretaker. Large grill used twice ran out of gas on the last day also tried the second tank that was there empty. Tripped breaker. Daniel responsive with suggestions and called for assistance that solved the problem. Piano provided but very out of tune.
TVs require renters to use their streaming accounts. Bedroom and bathroom linens provided. Toiletries not provided. Beds comfortable.
I would recommend this property with the above info.

Our family stayed at Apple Knoll inn for a week. The inn is huge with everything you need. I love the fact that each room had its own bathroom and there were enough towels in the house. Make sure to take your shampoo and body wash.
The kids really enjoyed the pool. A lot annoying bugs around.
Overall, we had a great time and would love to be back.

Apple Knoll Inn has become a favorite of my family and me. The property is spacious, beautifully decorated and well appointed with everything you need. Aside from that it is a pleasure to work with Daniel. He is perhaps the most accommodating host that I have ever had. Would recommend any of his properties wholeheartedly to anyone.

Perfect house for a big family holiday

Owner was super responsive and helpful from the start. Property is as described, and views are spectacular. House was a little dusty, but had been cleaned recently - just an older home so to be expected. There were a LOT of flies and other friendly bug critters in the house - I think the doors must have been left open prior to our stay, so we had to do a bit of exterminating. Kitchen is beautiful and modern, would stay again.

My family and I rented the Apple Knoll Inn for a long weekend celebration of my father's 80th birthday. The Inn itself was immaculate and comfortably housed 10 of us for the weekend, especially because every room has its own bathroom! There are enough living spaces for people to find a quiet corner to read a book. The kitchen is fabulous and very well equipped - perfect for cooking meals for a group. We thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor spaces including the deck, the fire pit and the pool, which was appropriately "refreshing" for Vermont.
Weston is an adorable, though tiny, town nearby. Ludlow, Chester and Londonderry are not far, so there are plenty of places to explore.
I'd highly recommend this property and hope we can return again.

Loved staying here, perfect getaway from the city. We stayed with extended family and loved every minute, great location, just minutes from lots of trails & hikes. We loved to star gaze in the backyard at night while sitting around the fire pit. Everything was as described, our trip was perfect. Thanks!

Great value! Beautiful kitchen and property
I stayed here with a big group looking to snowboard at Okemo. The location is great; it's secluded on a big plot of land, but still close to town and only 15 minutes away from the mountain.
The space was beautiful and the kitchen was wonderfully renovated. It made group meals incredible. Within the rental, there's lots of space for groups to get together. Everyone especially loved the numbers of bathrooms and how each bathroom is attached to a bedroom in addition to a common bathroom.
Would stay again!

Great house!
Beautiful old house with new kitchen! Listing said it could sleep 16 but was a couple beds short. Did provide cots though.

Host was VERY accommodating with our stay requests. Home was spacious. We had 14 people in the main house that could have fit more if people shared beds. Cottages were good and house was great. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Great place for large gatherings
Each bedroom has its own bathroom, plenty of sitting and dinning space, and a large kitchen for cooking with nice appliances. The house is old some comes with character but could use a touch up here and there but overall charming. Beds were comfortable and everything was clean upon arrival. Large lawn and great fire pit. Amenities were good-only thing missing was a pot scrubber and some pans need to be replaced but overall great space for large group or family with plenty of private space as well as areas for gathering.

Property in beautiful are is somewhat run down. Some essentials missing such as soap in bathrooms, matches, kitchen towels. Kitchen is updated but ice maker broken. Despite drawbacks we enjoyed a family reunion for the 1st time in 18 months because of Covid restrictions - especially our time around the fire pit.

Winter Wonderland
We had an amazing family vacation at Dan's gorgeous Vermont Home. The children (and adults) had a blast sledding down the hill and snowboarding at the mountain. The house was spacious, yet very cozy. Would wholeheartedly recommend this property for family fun!

The house was very clean upon arrival and very comfortable for 11 adults. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. The kitchen is very up to date and easy to work in. We had a great time!

Stayed a week, I brought my family up to Vermont to fish a little and visit family. I labored over the internet to find a nice place. The house was clean, huge, and beautiful with all I needed, and located right in town near everything we like to do. We cooked almost all meals there and it was very convenient. The house has almost everything you need when it comes to pots, pans, dishes, and cleaning supplies. Also, there were a lot of extras like spices as well as fresh milk and eggs left by Dan. One minor complaint is there is more labelling needed on in the kitchen. Its a home size kitchen and took the weekend just to figure out the knife drawer from the pot and pan drawer. Common spaces like kitchen and piano areas were great for our group to hang out. We used the piano area every night to sit by the fireplace and enjoy our evening over cocktails and appetizers. I'm really pleased to say this property exceeded my expectations and makes me believer in owners who aren't trying to just make a quick buck. Renting from Dan was a pleasant experience from the first time I called him to inquire about the place. I had such a nice stay, I will definitely be back and renting from him. Cant wait! Highly recommend this owner/property. My wife adds that the shopping is killer!

It was amazing!
We had a little confusion with the bedroom set up, the main house has seven bedrooms and then the additional two bedrooms are in the cottages. Daniels great and helped us so much things out. I was bummed didn’t make it to the theater. The main house was just beautiful very lovely decorations. I’ll definitely be back! Maybe next summer.

Made me want to move there.
Loved Vermont. Best food we ever had, I mean where has Farm to table been all my life. Not a theatre girl but have to say the theatre was up there with plays I've seen in manhattan. I think that's just in the summer. House was really pretty, we loved coming home back to it. Beds and linens were great and the view from our bedroom window looked like a postcard. Kids loved the pool and the fields and it felt really safe just leaving them outside. Agent was prompt and knew everything about the house and area. Really loved Weston. Definitely coming back.
