50 Birthday Celebration
The property was beautiful, beyond our exceptions. There were 10 of us staying in the house and there was more than enough room for everyone to spread out. The maintenance staff was very responsive to a few issues we had during our stay and fix the issue very quickly. Our only complaint would be how complicated operating the t.v. in the media room was, even with detailed instructions we still need to have a tech guy help us out. Other than that everything was perfect.

Family birthday trip
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the property. The minor issues we faced were solved quickly and professionally. We especially loved how deep the pool was, the views from the back of the house onto the waterway and the huge windows, and the short walk across the street to the beach. Even before leaving we decided that we would like to visit again, it was just that wonderful!

Wine Down
A day after checking in we were informed spa was out of order. Our bed linens were fifty. Outdoor grill and hood full of grease. Ice maker broken. Stove in kitchen door this not close tight so all heat would escape when cooking. Just a few items on the list many more to add.. Contacted royal shell to fix items. Took them 3 days to get back to us and never fixed any of the issues. House has great views but when you pay premium price for a vacation home you expect it to be as advertised on site.

We will always have Captiva!
This house is everything you can imagine and provided everything we needed to make memories for a lifetime. From coffee on the screened in porch with stunning sunrises to walking across to the beach side for gorgeous sunset every night our days were filled with smiles and laughter. Pool, pool table and ping pong and fishing kept the teens entertained , then we’d head out to greet the dolphins on our paddle boards as they swam in the bay. The house had all the amenity you could think of to make our stay perfect. We could not of asked for a more gorgeous yet comfortable house to stay in . Thank you for sharing this magical spot.

2021 Spring Break
Wine down was the perfect setting for several families to provide a Senior Year spring break. The property is lovely with many spaces for large groups to enjoy. We rented bikes and kayaks and were able to experience the island and the canal. We especially enjoyed the short walk to beach access to an uncrowded stretch. We did have to call the rental agent for several items and they were VERY prompt.

Beautiful home on the Bay
Wine Down is a lovely home on the bay side of Captiva Island. We sat on the enclosed porch and watched dolphin play, and kept track of the eagles’ comings and goings via the camera feed on a large monitor in the kitchen/dining area. The beach was an easy walk across the road and down a path, and we collected shells each day. The house is spacious and well-appointed. It was a lovely time!

A unique week...
The property was a real treat. The grounds are landscaped with beautiful plantings and trees, all in healthy shape, with such a variety of colors. The house and guest house were perfect for our family of 17 (7 adults, 10 kids). The kitchen was very well stocked - a missing coffee maker was immediately replaced upon notifying the manager, and a few other mechanical issues were also promptly addressed (dryer, ice maker, one TV). The games provided were a great plus and enjoyed by many of us. We used the outside grill for salmon, steaks and chicken, and the kids loved the pool, hot tub, ping pong and pool table. We even caught and ate several fish from the dock area! In summary, a really 5 star property and perfect for a large group of all ages.

Most awesome house!
We had a wonderful week! The house was amazing! We brought our three grown daughters, their husbands and children and found spaces for everyone! We also brought our paddle boards and kayaks and found the boat lift was set up perfectly to store and launch them. We also had room for the small boat my son In law brought for fishing and a pontoon boat we rented for day trips. Oh, don’t forget the HUGE pool that isn’t even seen in the photos! The grounds are so nicely landscaped and the fountains added a wonderful touch! The kitchen was the best stocked of any vacation house we e ever rented (and we’ve rented vacation homes for well over 10 years!) we wish there hadn’t been a nasty virus around so we could have seen more of the area but we felt fortunate to find such a lovely spot to isolate ourselves in the midst of the craziness of 2020! We definitely will be back!
PS. Royal Shell was great to deal with! Nicest management group we’ve seen in quite awhile!
