About this house rental
ED Ref. 2307117
This more than 300-year-old Appenzell house with the original floor plan still radiates the atmosphere of the "good old days". The property covers 600 m2. At Alterszentrum Rotenwies, Gäbrisstrasse 18, a lane leads directly to the detached house, where you can park your car.
The decor of the house is partly antique, partly in the cozy "grandfather style" of the fifties. There is no central heating! In cool weather, the tiled stove in the room can be heated. The remaining rooms remain unheated.
An adjoining room serves as a playroom or bedroom for 1-2 persons. There is also an antique cabinet with games and picture books. The self-contained kitchen is simple and functional and spacious. But it is eaten at the dining table in the living room. There is also enough kitchen utensils and crockery for a larger family. If you feel like it, you can cook on the old wood stove for a change. The dishes are washed off here by hand.
The shower with lavabo is located in the anteroom in the 1st. Floor and is separated by a curtain. The toilet with lavabo is located on the ground floor behind the kitchen, as is common in old Appenzeller houses.
In the attic, children have room to play even in rainy weather. If you like reading, you will find literature for every taste.
The bedrooms are decorated in a rustic style and partly equipped with high antique beds. Of course, the mattresses are comfortable and recent. At night you can hear the fountain splashing and the nearby brook rushing, perhaps also the faint tinkling of cowbells.
Enjoy the sunny garden until the evening and the cows grazing around the house. You may also discover a few gray herons by the stream.
If you arrive by train, you can reach the house in 15 minutes by foot from Gais train station and in 5 minutes from the station Hebrig. For shopping in the village with bakery and Spar grocery store it is only 10 minutes walk. At Demeter Biohof Bommes, not far from the house, you can buy fresh dairy products, eggs, vegetables and much more, almost around the clock.
A fast Internet (fiber optic) is of course available.
