About this apartment rental
The apartment is new and is located on the ground floor of a beautiful art nouveau villa built in 2014 and is inside a delightful garden located a few steps from the center of Lazise. The apartment is very bright and equipped with maximum comfort, it is composed of an entrance with equipped kitchen and living room, a bathroom with shower, a lovely double bedroom with ample wardrobe and dresser, a second double bedroom also with wardrobe. Added to this is a covered parking space in the basement and a laundry room, where there is the possibility of washing, drying and ironing clothes. The windows of the apartment give a beautiful view of the Italian garden, with boxwood plants that surround the palladian crossroads of Botticino marble, in the center of the crossroads there is a three-tiered fountain where birds often stop to drink . This garden is surrounded by two rose gardens of selected plants among the most awarded. In the garden there are more than 200 rose plants of at least 25 different species. Immediately beyond the rose gardens there are a row of olive trees that during the summer lend themselves to shade the hammocks for a green-relax. There is a specially free space with a green lawn surrounded by typically Mediterranean plants (olive trees, cypresses, oleanders, roses) where there is a gazebo, where sun beds and umbrellas can be placed, but also chairs and tables for breakfast or for the tea of the five. On the opposite side of the house there is a small garden of the simple with aromatic plants (basil, thyme, mint, sage, rosemary, bay leaf). On the back of the house, there is a terrace with a table with chairs for breakfast, besides the terrace there is a forest of wild plants and the stream that passes inside to then flow into Lake Garda. The apartments of the villa have been designed to live throughout the year and not as holiday homes, guests can come throughout the year also because Lake Garda is beautiful to live even in winter, and because the events in the nearby towns of Verona, Venice, Mantua and Milan are also many in the winter period (St. Lucia in Verona, Christmas markets in Verona, Venice and Verona carnivals, Valentine's Day ...).
Guests are always welcome, usually with a small surprise present.
A LITTLE HISTORY OF LAZISE: is an Italian municipality in the province of Verona, located on the eastern shore of Lake Garda. This geographical location gives it a position of great landscape value, but there are also elements of great architectural value and of considerable historical importance. In addition to these peculiarities, Lazise can count on the presence of a thermal spring in Colà, of Canevaworld and Gardalande amusement parks, an extensive hilly agricultural landscape. The most imposing building in Lazise is the Scaligero castle and the walls surrounding the historic center. The castle was built during the domination of the lords of Verona Bartolomeo II and Antonio della Scala, or perhaps a little earlier by his father Cansignorio della Scala (since the New door bears the date 21 May 1376) [34]. The country has always had three entrance doors equipped with shutters and drawbridges:
Porta Superiore, now commonly called Porta San Zeno, for access from the east;
Porta Lion (so called because it bore the emblem of the Serenissima), for access from the south;
Porta Nuova (so called because it was built last), now commonly called Porta Cansignorio, for access from the north.
EVENTS:
Regata delle Bisse - It is held between July and August. Lacisiense stage of the bisse championship, traditional Venetian rowing boats (with four standing rowers and no helmsmen) organized by the Lega Bisse del Garda. The winner of the championship gets the flag of the lake as a trophy [38].
Guest Festival - It takes place at the end of July in Pacengo and at the end of August in Lazise. There are various banquets selling typical local products, musical concerts and a final show with fireworks [38].
Ancient festival of the Madonna della Neve - It is held in Colà at the beginning of August. When the territory was still exclusively agricultural, it was the feast of the families of Colà, during which the best productions were presented to the foreigners. Among the traditions that remained linked to this festival of Colà, the gastronomic Anara col pien remains (stuffed roast duck). There are also musical evenings with live dancing [38].
Cuccagna del Cadenon - It takes place at the end of August, in conjunction with the Festa dell'Ospite, in the old port of the town. An 8-meter pole is placed horizontally on the lake, abundantly sprinkled with grease. The winner is who, sliding on the pole, is able to take the flag at the end. Event felt by citizens, open to the participation of residents and visitors [39].
Sagra del Marciapié - Ancient festival held on the last day of Carnival (Mardi Gras) and the first of Lent (Wednesday of the ashes) in via Arco. Citizenship is invited to elect the representative of the street, called Cape Valàr (in addition to other masks), among the inhabitants of the same [39].
Feast of San Martino - The feast of the patron Saint Martin of Tours, traditionally on 11 November. Visitors are invited to taste local specialties at the various banquets set up in the streets of the town [39].
Feast of Saint Lucia - The days before Santa Lucia, the square in the historic center becomes a meeting place for adults and children, who can watch shows and visit banquets. The first day of the fair appears Saint Lucia pulled by a donkey, who launches sweets and sweets for all the children present [39].
National Fair "I Giorni del Miele" - The first days of October are held in a large tent that hosts various stands of honey and derivatives producers, such as sweets and cakes. The fair has an international character every two years.

The house/appartment is well maintained and nicely equipped. It is located in a quiet street and in walking distance to downtown Lazise. Gardaland and other attractions are close by. Elisabetta was a great host, always responsive and extremely helpful - she made us feel welcome right from the beginning. Overall, we had a very relaxing week and highly recommend this beautiful home. Last, but not least: visit Villa Calicantus if you have the chance! It was one of our highlights.
