게스트 하우스 코아

한적한 곳에 있지만 번화가까지 차로 10분이내에 갈수있고 근처에 맛있는 음식점이 2곳이나 있었어요 객실도 아늑하고 직원들도 친절합니다. 게스트 하우스에서 운영하는 유료 스노클링 투어도 재밌었습니다 그들만 아는 비밀의 멋진장소였어요. 수건이나 세탁등도 무료라 (건조기만 유료) 물놀이가 잦은 미야코지마 여행에 너무 편리했습니다.

본체의 1인실이 있는공간은 복도를 따라 키친+리빙룸(공용공간) 이 있는데 밤11시가 넘어도 큰소리로 떠드는 사람들이 있었고 그 소리가 복도를 따라 방까지 이어집니다 ㅠㅠ 호스트는 이점을 게스트에게 주의할 필요가 있어보입니다.

Quiet, clean, decent room for short stay

The room and property were very well-kept and extremely clean, and the amenities were excellent. There were both bath towels and beach towels, coffee and tea, and kitchen space with a refrigerator. There was plenty of parking space, and the property itself was really nice, with outdoor areas to sit and relax and lots of plants and green - it was a very quiet, relaxing, and pleasant atmosphere. The room looked very new, the decor was quite cute, and there was a nice vanity with mirror, which was very appreciated. The staff members we spoke to were also quite friendly and kind. Although I myself used Japanese with them, it did seem they could speak some English which travelers from abroad will appreciate.

The staff never seems to answer the phone, even within reasonable hours, e.g., 1pm-9pm. E.g., we tried calling a few times for directions when we first arrived but no one answered; and a few days later we had car trouble and were hoping the staff could help, but no one answered the phone. We wound up needing to find and ask a police officer for help, and finally were able to get a taxi back to the hotel. This was very stressful and we wondered what the point was of including a phone number if no one answers it. As for the room, there is not adequate storage space in the room to keep clothes and such (why is there not at least one shelf?) and not enough hangers or space to hang towels or to dry wet bathing suits. We had to hang things from the doorknob outside, which is obviously not ideal. The bed is really uncomfortable, it's like sleeping on a hard floor. Finally, the door had been hung crookedly which made the lock difficult to open - I struggled with it many times, and at one point, we were nearly locked in the room! We finally were able to figure out a trick to push/lift the door at the same time as we jiggled the key in the lock which finally got it open. Not sure if it was the original construction or the humidity, but that is an issue that should be fixed as it will cause many travelers irritation - what if someone got locked in, and the staff didn't answer the phone?

Brilliant

It’s a beautiful property with a holiday feel and lovely, friendly staff.

I think you need a car for staying anywhere in Miyako, we had a car so there isn’t anything at all that we didn’t like 😁

Amazing place

Amazing guesthouse just next to Sunayama beach, the staff is incredibly kind and welcoming. They made us feel at home for five days, and even showed us around the local festival that was taking place on Miyako. Iru the dog is also very cute and friendly:) Would 100% recommend to anyone wishing to get some peace and quiet away from the touristy areas of Miyakojima. *Also for animal lovers, we saw a bunch of animals like coconut crabs and peacocks next to the beach so that was a huge plus for me:)

It's pricier than what we usually go for since we're on a small budget but it was well worth it for the location. Bit far away from restaurants but if you like walking it's no problem

I love my stay !! I would recommmend and stay again.

Owners are helpful. It’s clean . Cottages are comfy. AC is perfect (it’s VERY hot in august). You can rent beach stuff at very good prices.

It’s far from the city center and there are no restaurants or markets around. It’s developing. If you stay here make sure you rent a car or a motorcycles.

Great location, very close to Sunayama Beach (less than 10 minute walk), which is the best beach on Miyako-jima.

The bed was very firm and the pillows terrible.

Perfect!

Guesthouse Koa is perfect! Very clean, organized and in a modern style. The staff is super friendly and always strives to make your stay as comfortable as possible. One highlight was the garden where you can relax in the evening after a sunny day and watch the stars. It is also unique that it is very close to the wonderful Sunayama Beach. There are also great cafés near by, just 2-3 min by walk. There is much more you can enjoy about Guesthouse Koa! To make it short - from my side an explicit recommendation for Guesthouse Koa!

Great guesthouse in Miyakojima

The host is very welcoming and we had delicious coffee every day. The central room is a good place to meet people, and we had a lot of fun.

The weather was uncharacteristically-cold for Okinawa, and the blankets were slightly cold during the time we were over. This is likely not an issue for you :)

Welcoming staff, lovely facilities and a highlight of my trip!

This was an absolute highlight of my trip. The Guesthouse was very lively and fun, with a shared kitchen and communal space. The bathrooms and showers were awesome (I loved the rain shower head!) and the rooms were comfortable and spacious. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, but special mention goes to Iru (their dog)! Located very close to a beautiful beach. Best accessed by car or taxi. Thank you so much for making my stay in Miyakojima so memorable. I will be back!

I promise you the best stay:)))

The most wonderful guesthouse ever in my life! The room was cute and super clean. Whole place was well equipped with all essentials. Especially you will love the home roasted coffee by the owner! The people from the guesthouse is amazingly kind and very helpful (plus one little cute puppy! ) My girls didn’t want to come home after one week of stay there.

great place to stay.. the owner is super kind and so we’re the guests.. had a good time chatting n enjoying with other guests at the common area.. had lots of good local restaurants and spots recommendations from them.. the location is very close to Sunayama beach.. but might need a private vehicle or taxi to reach..

Stylish design, good service

The YABIJI half-day tour was spectacular! During my stay, I was lucky enough to rent their car. It wouldn’t have been possible for me to get around the island without it as all car rentals were fully booked for July. They had a cute little puppy running around the shared space and this was lovely as I got to interact with this adorable furry animal during my stay. They had hand-made frozen food stocks for guests who had no time for grocery or eating out which was quite convenient. Shared bathroom space was designed very well. The atmosphere was calm and everyone there seemed warm-hearted and friendly. Therapeutic sessions (essential oils, massage) were available, too.

The kitchen was not cleaned well compared to other areas. I saw crumbs and dusts in both drawers and fridge, and raw food trash left overnight in the drainage. I would suggest that they would set up rules for guests to clean up the drainage themselves after they use the kitchen as it would definitely invite unwanted bugs..

Exceptional

I enjoyed the hospitality and the community of guest house. There were lots of repeater customers coming back to the guest house and I fully enjoyed to be part of the community. We had Yuntaku (gathering) at night and we shared our food, shared our drinks. Highly recommended

Excellent stay!

I liked the location, the cleanliness, the facilities and the vibe. The management run the guesthouse with a lot of thought and care and have everything to make the beach vacation more enjoyable - snorkeling tours, rental car, wetsuits and other equipment, BBQ, volleyball, etc.

Great time!

The staff was super friendly and always swilling to give recommendations. Beach goods, such as rental snorkel, fins, etc. Great amenities such as water jugs to take to the beach to rinse off as well as beach towels.

The AC had a slight smell, but it wasn't terrible.

Just what I needed, very active and relaxing at the same time.

The best beach Sunayama, is located near Koa. I could swim and snorkel a lot. However, I think most people would definitely need a car as there are many interesting beaches and scenery to see all over the Islands. The manager recommended a car company and I got a good deal I feel. As my stay was long, I could prepare my own food in a well equipped kitchen and wash clothes in a modern laundry setup. If you go in the early spring you may need extra blankets on occasion, which the staff happily supplied. Generally all staff were very helpful whether it be asking how to use the washing machine or asking about beach conditions. Atsushi kindly explained which ones were best on a given day. He was always spot on.

I needed more information about vegetarian/vegan friendly restaurants.

Superb

I liked the chance to interact with others and eat meals together. I thought the owner Atsushi was great and showed myself and some other guests some amazing secret spots. The staff, Kanna and Mayu were super kind and helpful even if we didn't speak the same language. Many guests as well as the staff were generous and thoughtful. We celebrated the New Year well, had a lovely BBQ and played a lot of Uno. It was a lot of fun and a great way to end the year and start the new year.

The location without a car makes it hard to see many places in a short period of time. Even though it was the holidays, some guests were too loud and didn't follow the rules of being quiet during the quiet hours. It's a chance you take with other guests, but it didn't ruin the trip, just at times some people were noisy and didn't seem to care at all.

Surrounded by sugarcane field, with one of the beautiful beach nearby

good value for money, structure suitable for those who want an informal hostel-like atmosphere. The location is really nice, surrounded by sugarcane field. From the structure you can reach in a few minutes walk one of the prettiest beaches of Miyakojima. The owner suggest us a really good Izakaya ( brown sugar ) near by.
