Maes y Mor is well equipped with kitchen pottery, cutlery etc.Fridge, freezer, washer all good. The cooker is very slow to heat both oven and top plates. All towels and linen very clean, the general cleanliness of the house was good but some windows and mirrors smeared(possible pets on windows).Plants in property some of which looked tired and bit brown.Small shower room needs more ventilation and shower dripped also floor in passageway
has wobbly bump in it!The cottage is a good point for visiting Criccieth and surrounding areas but decor and furnishings need to be kept refreshed as
a lot of bookings and so a lot of people going through and using same constantly.

Lovely spacious cottage/bungalow in a great location.
Lovely spacious cottage/bungalow in a great location.
The only near neighbour is Dylan's restaurant, which was fairly busy whilst we were there but we weren't in any way disturbed by its activities or patrons.
Having Dylan's close by was also a bonus as we had a food delivery the first night we were in the cottage and were able to pop back to the cottage from Dylan's when the delivery tuned up early.
There is a traintrack right at the back of the cottage, which I don't think is mentioned in any of the holiday cottage letting websites, but there are only about six two-carriage trains a day, so it wasn't something that was particularly disturbing, especially not as all but one of the bedrooms, and all the seating areas are all to the front of the cottage. A public footpath also runs along the cottage side of the railway track too.
Given that the cottage allows guests of the four legged furry variety the standard of cleanliness was brilliant, you certainly wouldn't have known any dogs had been there, and as dog owners ourselves, we wouldn't have booked this cottage if it hadn't accommodated dogs.
We were incredibly blessed that our visit to the cottage co-incided with a week of stunning weather which meant we spent most our time in the cottage sitting out on the raised patio taking in the view of the mountains and the sea.
The kitchen is well equipped with a lot of what you'd need for a comfortable stay including a dishwasher, microwave and range style cooker etc. The only thing we couldn't find was something to brew filter coffee in. There was a Nespresso machine but we didn't know this until we got to the cottage and had already pre-ordered filter coffee. It wasn't a huge problem but a cafetiere would have been helpful.
Bedding and towels were provided but we used our own when we went to the beach.
The garden was nice for the dogs to laze in, but if you have ones that like to take themselves off on little adventures, the wooden gate to the property is fairly easily escapable from so if you have dogs that might slip between the bars of the gate, you'll either need to keep a constant eye on them or you might want to take along some garden type mesh to tie to the gate. At the outset the owner does explain that he can't guarantee that the garden is fully dog proofed.
We bought 3.5 meters of mesh from a garden centre the first day we were there that we tied to the bottom half of the gate and it worked a treat.
All in all, we had a lovely week in the cottage and the location right by the sea with so few neighbours around was a real blessing.

Superb location just metres from the beach, we were welcomed with a few short instructions and left to enjoy ourselves. Essential supplies were provided as were fresh flowers and real coffee which made a huge difference and totally unexpected!
The cottage is finished to an extremely high standard and is very comfortable, there were 8 of us there with 3 dogs for 2 weeks, at no point were we too cramped, in fact there is much more space than the pictures suggest.
Local shops are nearby with some good pubs, restaurants and cafes. There is a Tesco, Lidl and Aldi about 10 mins drive away in Porthmadog.
We felt it was a place to enjoy in all weathers. Overall - highly recommend, we loved it.

We gave a 9/10 only as the freezer was not working! The owner told us that this would be replaced but unfortunately not until after our stay - understandably. Other than this the house is wonderful! Very well equipped and comfortable. The owner seems to have thought of everything! We will definitely be booking again. It is right on the beach and next door to a beautiful restaurant - Dylan’s. The village is lovely and the train station is a short 10 min walk away! We had a really lovely week!

Maes y Mor is what you expect a five star holiday let to be.
Maes y Mor is what you expect a five star holiday let to be.Its decor is neutral, pleasing and comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped and everything works! The cottage is five minutes walk into Criccieth and two minutes to the gorgeous beach. The owner meets you on arrival with the key and is available by mobile should this be necessary.I would highly recommend this property and indeed have rebooked for October.I would say the garden is open so not private.

Fabulous cottage, very tastefully decorated and extremely well equipped.
Fabulous cottage, very tastefully decorated and extremely well equipped. Very spacious and comfortable. Loved the location.
Had some lovely Easter sunshine and a bit of Welsh rain, but found loads to do locally for young and old alike. Climbed Snowdon, went to Portmeirion, strolled the gorgeous beaches and played a bit of football golf! Criccieth is very dog friendly, so great to be able to take our pup into the ice cream shop( several times!)
We loved the cottage and are hoping to book again later this year.
