We enjoyed our stay at this big beautiful cabin. Loved the openness of the living room, kitchen, and dining room! Wonderful spacious wrap-around porch. Kitchen fully equipped. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for a large group of lodgers. Bed linens and towels were very clean and of nice quality.
Beautiful aspens surrounded the cabin. Right next to the ski slope. Long gravel road from the village to the cabin.
The owner was easy to contact and was very amenable to responding to our inquiries.
The outdoor grill did not function well at all. Small for cooking for large group. We were not able use it. Ice maker does not work. I only mention these items because they are listed as available amenities.
Would return to stay at this cabin!

It is an excellent place for a big family ski vacation. It's super convenient to get into the slope.

The living room and kitchen is very accommodating for a large group and we enjoyed our "Apres Ski" time there.

Property suited our needs perfectly, on the rustic side, but that's what we wanted. Accommodated us (20) extremely well and the Headin Home access was superb. A fantastic ski in ski out location.

CONs – needs maintenance; dishwasher not working; trash has to be hauled out 5 miles – plan for this as a truck is needed to haul for a large group.
PROs – quiet remote location if that is what you are looking for; room for a large group.
The house is suited for a large group, location is quiet and remote with trails/wildlife around. Very peaceful location with a number of tourist spots within a 1-2 hour drive. The property has a lot of potential, but is in need of maintenance. The dishwasher did not work and no attempt was made to repair while we were there. Hand washing dishes for 15 people while on holiday is not something we planned on when renting a luxury property that indicated we would have a dishwasher. Also worth noting in case you also miss it in the listing like we did, the home does not have AC. No worries if visiting in winter, but would not recommend renting in July as it gets quite warm and interferes with quality sleep. Best if you have a truck when visiting as all trash has to be packed out and taken into a trash site in Angel Fire NM.

Our family had a wonderful time on our recent stay at Angel Fire. The location of the cabin was perfect for the skiers to come and go as they wished. Would definitely like to stay at this cabin again sometime.

Great house in a great location but the downstairs was very hot. The owner knew the downstairs heating system was broken before our arrival. There is also duct tape on the sofa cushions and the dishwasher stopped working. The downstairs bathroom smells terrible, like mold. Also, the driveway is supposed to be plowed and wasn't and we had to call for a tow to get our vehicle unstuck. 3 light bulbs were out in key areas like the bathroom and bedroom. The stereo doesn't work and they say they have satellite but it doesn't appear to work. There was also a water leak in the family room. The house is great bit at this price point, everything should work. The heater issue was unexcusable. Owner told me that he knew of this heater issue way before we arrived. To his credit, after I called him about the heater, he had the thermostat replaced but that did not fix the issue. Were done rentals for over 20 years and I have to say that while we still had a great time, this home needs some TLC and repairs.

We headed to the house the day before Thanksgiving from Texas with a weather report that indicated that we were unlikely to have ANY snow. It started snowing that night and dusted the snow that was already on the ground and kept snowing all day Thanksgiving Day. The kids had a blast - we all did.
Access to the house was great and getting in was no problem.
We brought our 89-year-old Matriarch and four of our kids with their families. There were 10 adults and seven children. No complaints - AT ALL.
Kitchen and dining were stocked enough and large enough for the son-in-laws to prepare the perfect Thanksgiving dinner.
The resort was still closed, so we had the ski slope at the end of the walkway to ourselves for the kids - big and little - to enjoy sledding. We even joined them a time or two to make sure we still could. Easy path down the walk for the Matriarch to sit and watch the fun.
The 6 bedrooms were a perfect layout for our group. There was the great master for us with a door leading out to the side porch and the walkway to the slopes. Couples each had a room of their own. The bunk room for the kids, loft for a single adult and study bedroom for Matriarch made it even more perfect for our family. It's hard to imagine any privacy with this many people but it provided it.
The downstairs game room was a perfect hang-out room to send the kids away from the family room to make noise. They also had the loft to hang out in once these grandparents got used to them going up and down the ladder.
The living area with the fireplace was perfect. We would have liked more seating but that isn't a complaint. We are a big group and always need more seating - maybe two couches instead of the two big chairs. (Just suggestions.)
Two bathrooms upstairs and two downstairs was excellent.
The garage for getting in and out of snow gear and for unloading and loading was perfect, as well.
The wrap around porch was beautiful and the stairs up were great. We didn't spend a lot of time there because we had to play in the snow if we were outside. And the deer loved to come visit near the stairs so we could see them from the porch and the downstairs windows and even get close to them.
We wanted a house that would provide a trip for everyone to remember for a lifetime and this house was just right!
Not only will we recommend it, but we will probably rent it again!

The property was beautiful, located right on the slopes. We had a large group and the property fit us all with no problems! Will definitely recommend!

This property was very nice. It fit our large families well. We enjoyed our time we spent here. Saw lots of deer and some elk. Had a beautiful snow during our stay as well. Owner was very helpful and prompt to respond.

Our group was 17 people and 2 dogs. There are really 5 bedrooms plus a loft, whereas the listing says 6 bedrooms. The loft is not private at all and you need to climb a 90degrees ladder. Good thing our teenagers weres willing to take the loft. Three of the bedrooms are in the basement. One of the bedrooms has 4 bunks plus a bed. It is ski-in ski-out(not a consideration this time but would be good in winter). It's a nice big house well appointed and equipped. Two sets of W/D are great for a big group. Negatives were that the road up is 4 miles unpaved, the owner gave the wrong door codes, took 20 minutes after arrival to get the proper code, and there was construction next door. On the plus side, the view and wildlife were great, kitchen worked great for our diverse dietary requirements, WiFi and TV were quite good. By the way one of the two garage doors was not working.

The home was very nice and roomy.
We were a little disappointed about the condition of the grounds around the house. We also needed to use the propane grill and it took my son and son-in-law 2 hrs to get it clean enough for us to use.

Great home with many bedrooms, bathrooms, and bunk sleeping areas for many families to enjoy the mountains together!

Nice Home in a Beautiful Area
We had our family reunion at this property (17 adults and 1 infant). The house had the right amount of bedrooms/ beds to accommodate everyone in a comfortable way. And we all fit around the dining room table. We used the front grounds to take professional family photos which worked really well. We did encounter a couple of issues, but Jim addressed those promptly. I would definitely consider a repeat visit.

Nice property, needs maintenance and rat control
The location and house are lovely BUT we arrived to a horrible smell, which turned out to be not one, but two dead rats, one upstairs and one down. In addition, the house had clearly not been cleaned in preparation for our arrival. There were dozens of flies dead on the windowsills, everything was very dusty, toilets had that ring inside that they get after sitting for a while. You get the idea…
Additionally, one of the bathrooms was out of commission due to a leaky toilet. We were a big group, and really needed all the bathrooms to be working. I called the property manager/owner and a plumber arrived two days later to fix it, but that was a pretty big inconvenience.
Ultimately, we had a nice trip, and suggest Angel Fire highly, but I can’t recommend this particular house. Too many issues and too much deferred maintenance.

We enjoyed skiing Angel Fire once again. The Wright place was perfect for our family. Between the deer, snowball fights, and slopes right out our doorstep, it was perfect.
Jim went over and above to make our trip amazing. The flat driveway is a huge plus for this area. The home had everything we could of possibly needed. We certainly look forward to staying here again.
