The staff is very nice and helpful even though the language was a challenge for us. The room was large. The furnishings were nice. The grounds were pretty. Easy in and out of the city of Bayeux and the surrounding areas. Free parking on the premises is always appreciated.
This did not feel like a 4-star accommodation. The shower in our room didn’t work. The towels were worn. The bathroom could have been more comfortable. The breakfast was average. We felt that this accommodation was not a good value for what we spent.

Friendly hosts. Historical building. « Walking distance » from Bayeux (albeit 1 hour walk)
Récent renovations done in modern / not-so-nice style

beautiful chateau and grounds
beds were not really comfortable

gorgeous 19th century chateau just 10 minutes outside of Bayeux. couple that runs it is extremely pleasant (NB: they speak almost no English). Family suite was truly huge. Grounds were beautiful to walk, and the place is pin drop quiet.
Three caveats: 1. the beds are extremely hard. personally, I love that so I slept amazingly well, but those looking for a big soft bed would have a problem; 2. there did not appear to be air conditioning. again, not a problem when we were there because it wasn’t york hot in the evenings, but I would ask before I booked July or August; 3. water pressure was quite weak. All three of these are not a surprise in France, and to be clear, I would stay here again if we ever went back to Bayeux.

We enjoyed our stay in this peaceful chateau near Bayeux. The setting is serene and beautiful. The view from both the front and back outdoor seating areas is lovely. Despite its stately appearance and antique furniture, the chateau has the feel of a home - complete with mismatched towels - rather than a formal hotel. The proprietor does not speak English - but understands a bit and is nonetheless helpful with reservations, etc. Between sign language, a translation app, and her experience and understanding in context, communication is possible. The property is family owned and operated, and Madam's granddaughter helps in the mornings and speaks some English. The chateau is a short distance into the country, and a car is very helpful - although taxis are available. It is a short and easy drive from Bayeux itself, and convenient to the D-Day locations. The rooms are large, clean and very comfortable; the bathrooms are spacious; the salons and outdoor spaces are comfortable and available; and breakfast was very nice, plentiful, and includes made-to-order eggs. We visited in June - when the garden peonies and roses were in bloom - and there were fresh flowers in the guest rooms and throughout the chateau.
The property does not have an elevator, so luggage must be carried upstairs to the guest rooms. The staircase is marble, wide, and the steps are not steep, so it is easier to navigate with a suitcase than most hotels or B&B's.

We wanted to get dar out of town so this was great for us but it's definitely not close to town if you need to be. The place was old and rickety but that's the kind of chateau charm we were looking for.

Hostess was very friendly and accomodating. Location near landing beaches and associated attractions. Beautiful setting.

We had such a lovely stay at this beautiful chateau. A realy luxurious treat for our stay in Normandy. Despite the language barriers on both sides, our hostess was so helpful and accomodating. Really enjoyed it. Breakfast was superb!
My vegetarian boyfriend said he would have appreciated the option of an alternative to ham with breakfast (but that's us being very picky!)

beautiful location, and stunning gardens
little tired in places, no facilities, not able to buy a drink, breakfast was expensive

The location is great and so is the proximity to the legendary beaches and historic landing sites as well as to Bayeux!
Beautiful piece of land and absolutely quiet
The owner is a special person - nice and supportive
We liked everything but felt the price a bit on the steep side - even if comparing with similar places

The breakfast was disappointing both mornings:
Day #1) Although we came down at closing time, there really wasn’t much to enjoy. Other than a typical European selection, no American breakfast offered.
The staff person chastised us for being late, was irritated, and anxious for us to leave.
Day# 2) we were on time, but no help was around and the selection was much less than our first day.
Breakfast needs dramatic improvements.
Other than breakfast, we really loved the château, rooms, outdoor areas, etc.

Beautiful property and warm welcoming staff. Enjoyed our stay immensely. They were very kind and helpful in setting up a lovely birthday celebration for me and my father, catering a cake, champagne, and lovely flowers. It was a very memorable stay with family. Highly recommend!
The wifi was free, but the strength of the wifi signal could have been better.

Excellent, quiet location, but close to Bayeux and the D-Day beaches. We loved the beautiful park, the lovely rooms (lots of space for our family of 4 with a giant bathroom). Breakfast was delicious and the hosts very kind. It was a special experience.
Everything was great during our stay.

Perfect breakfast in an enchanting room of the castle. Rooms very charming and confortable.
Well located to visit Normandy beaches and even mont Saint-Michel
Quiet place, perfect for family with huge park to walk around
Thank you so much, we really enjoyed the stay about all aspects.
All was good !

its a beautiful old chateau with beautiful furniture, the gardens are amazing
breakfast was delicious and although the host spoke no English she was the friendliest!!
Privacy can be a bit of an issue because all rooms were connected.
otherwise I loved everything else.

It was a beautiful chateau and a very quiet location. The breakfast was hot and wonderful.
The bed was very, very firm and as the rooms are not air conditioned, it was a bit too hot to sleep comfortably.

We stayed in standard suite for two nights. The location and the building itself is really unique experience, which is highly recommended. The room itself is super spacious, especially the washroom, I also like the hard bed. The breakfast is not fancy but with good service. They do have baby crib and mini bar in the room.
Since it is standard suite, we expect there is a living room in the suite, actually there is not. One room with master bed and one room with single bed, that's it. The (electronic) equipment in the room can be improved. The staff there is not good at English. Nevertheless, if you are fine with these drawbacks, I would highly recommend this castle.

very welcoming hosts
the property is beautiful
it would have been nice to have access to a coffee machine, like a nespresso, or a tea kettle. ideally in the room
for such a nice accommodation, we were expecting bathrobes in the room

Great location, very quiet, big rooms, friendly staff, very clean, good breakfast
Slow wifi, no cold drinks available like a mini bar, to pay extra for breakfast
