The restaurant was better than expected for Dinner, crew did a good job clearing snow, room 11 on our first visit was fine, room 13 on our second visit felt dingy.
Complimentary breakfast isn't as good as most, our room on our second stay was noisy because of the pool room and noise from above all night. room 13.

Cozy feel
Everything is old, the room we were assigned was below the dining room and the noise was insane loud . Stayed here 2 other times , my last time staying here

Nice rustic lodge feel! Super friendly staff, enjoyed having the on-site restaurant and bar and choice of dining in the restaurant or your room. Will definitely return!

Very cozy, big rooms, friendly staff. The restaurant was good. Overall better than expected
I guess the pillows were kind of small if I'm going to be picky

I had a wonderful prime rib dinner with the company of my dog! My server Jessica was very thoughtful and even gave my dog some chicken bites. During dinner, there was live folk music which was great! After dinner, I made a fire, and soaked in the jacuzzi. The king sized bed was extremely comfortable with soft linens. I woke up feeling very refreshed. I had the free continental breakfast and then drank my coffee on the balcony from my room which overlooked the mountains!

The lodge is lovely. The room is set up really well. Nice bathroom, excellent soaking tub, so much hot water, charming fireplace.
The continental breakfast was standard (aweful, better fare at gas stations). We had to go into town to get a lighter for the fire because the staff couldn't be bothered. Half the staff was great, and half had 0 interest in being there. The fireplace was very charming but not very efficient. The room was chilly the whole time. Despite my complaints I would stay again. The lodge, grounds and rooms are really nice. Bring your own food.

The Callahan house is amazing. Lots of space. Very comfortable space for a large group. We were very fortunate to arrive after new snow, so it was very beautiful. This home has it's own yard, so the kids had a lot of fun playing in the snow. There are 4 bedrooms and a good size living room. We had the perfect space for eating meals and playing games for our family getaway with a friend's family.
Just keep in mind that there may be challenges if you don't have a vehicle well suited for the snow. and ice The driveway is a little tricky. I was able to get in and out with a mini-van, I don't know if all would be comfortable doing so in the winter. My friend had a lower car, so she parked at the end of the driveway. In no way is this a deal breaker, just recommending to bring your best snow vehicle or high clearance 4 wheel drive vehicle if you visit in the winter.

Loved the fireplace and coziness of the room!! Spa area was a sweet plus and the wood on each level was beautiful.
Definitely a beautiful spot that we wished to stay longer
The bathroom can be updated with how the angles of sink and shower layout. I wished there were cute complementaries like water or other things in the room, otherwise perfect

The staff I dealt with was friendly and helpful. The grounds were nice and the accommodations were nice outside of being a bit dated. There is a restaurant in the lodge which makes it nice. Rooms are clean and bed is nice
More hangers in the closet. Mine had one. There are stains on the carpets and ceiling. Furniture has stains and not in the best shape. No lighting in the parking lot outside the lodge only lights on were in the far parking area. There are lights there but none were on so at 6am you are walking around in the pitch dark

Location is beautiful
Some of the furniture was beyond old. It was dirty. Staff was not trained and not attentive. For breakfast we could not find plates, silverware or coffee. Food was hardly present. Diner was good, but service terrible. Our desert was delivered together with meat, but our appetizer was forgotten and delivered when we almost finished with dinner. Desert melted.

It had a wonderful rustic feel to it but with a very clean, high quality look.
Nothing, comfortable, reasonably priced and sweet views of the woods and hills/mountains.

The grounds are attractive and the view from the balcony, air conditioning, and the private jacuzzi tub all added to our comfort. It's only a short drive from downtown and the facilities are pet friendly.
When we needed a few things like plates and bowls to use the kitchenette, the staff were gracious and helpful!
There was some stress when we arrived because we had been put in the wrong type of room. Luckily, they were able to switch us to the correct room type before other affected guests arrived.
There was also a ant problem in the room. Every time you set anything on the dining table or night stands, it would have ants on it within minutes. Once we realized, we hid our food in the fridge and our cooler and we're fine, but those surfaces were also sticky like maybe food residue from past guests was keeping the ants there.

The setting was absolutely gorgeous. The lodge had a homey rustic feel. It was all natural wood and felt like going into a historic cabin with all the amenities!!! They even had carts of firewood in the hall to build your own fire in the fireplace. The food and service was amazing!!
Absolutely nothing!!

it is easy access, right off the freeway. The place is a very charming, cabin style lodge. The rooms are large and comfortable and there is a nice game room in the basement with a pool table.
The resturaunt wasn’t open when we arrived but we did get in late.

There was a small kitchenette if you needed one.
I booked this stay a few months in advance to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary. The description said balcony and the reviews I read mentioned a “view?” I got a king room with a jacuzzi and what I thought would be a balcony. They must reserve the gross rooms for Booking.com. They gave us the worst room in the place! (#13) Right under the restaurant where you could hear people stomping around for most of our stay. There was no view, and no balcony. For the first hour, I cried, and we debated just going home, but decided to stay in the end because there wouldn’t be a refund. The chair in the room was leaning and stained, very worn. The carpet was ripped in a couple spots, and there was dried barf on the wall next to the toilet. The baseboards were dusty like they either don’t use this room often or don’t clean it well. The toilet handle was gross. There was a jacuzzi in the room that looked decent but for a long time we couldn’t get the whirlpool jets to work. Our neighbors came here the previous week and happened to mention the switch for this was under the sink…in the bathroom!! Sure enough! It was! I’m not sure why they don’t tell their guests how to use it. I didn’t like the location much, because aside from skiing at Mt. Ashland, there aren’t any other establishments around for miles. We could have stayed to eat, but the cheapest menu item was $18 for a cheeseburger. We drove into Jacksonville for the evening. Since we were under the restaurant we were awoken very early by those preparing breakfast. We woke up, and left very early, I was real disappointed. We did not try the breakfast.

The beautiful facility & grounds - amazingly gorgeous location, near the ski resort. Loved the windows so we could watch the snow fall while cozy in our room, and the balcony.
The fireplace was a welcome perk, but unfortunately fires would go out constantly and caused a lot of smoke in the room so we finally gave up on having fires. We aren’t novice fire builders either!

Staff was incredibly helpful and flexible RE an unforeseen change in plans for this trip. Unfortunately this event didn't allow me to make it to stay, but because of this experience this will be the #1 place I book for my next stay in Ashland.

What a lOvely place with breathtaking views, amazing staff, and management. The new chef, who was previously at the JACKSONVILLE INN.before it unexpectedly closes 12 weeks ago, is AMAZING!!! They were closed when we arrived 3 hours early, but the manager and owner opened the restaurant just for us, and he made the most amazing meals. The manager and owners visited with us and made us feel like family!! I CAN'T RECCOMMEND CALLAHAN'S LODGE HIGHLY ENOUGH, and we EVEN booked this next coming there.

The staff were so friendly and welcoming and made it feel like home.
The Lodge itself is in a lovely setting, surrounded by mountains and forest. We were lucky to go whilst it was snowing, so it looked even more beautiful.
Breakfast is continental and tasty. They have a self service pancake making machine too.
The room was very clean and a perfect temperature for our arrival. The jacuzzi bath was delightful and the bed was extremely comfortable, with great pillows too.
There are facilities to make tea and coffee and a decent sized fridge in the room.
Lots of sockets to charge your electricals
