It was perfect for our family! A distinctive japanese feel. Super comfortable. Easy couple of subway stops to the action of Shinjuku, but at the same time a lovely quiet neighbourhood with plenty of local food options as well. Fabulous information and communication to prepare you for Tokyo. Thanks for a great stay

Booked this wonderful property nearly a year before we travelled. Unfortunately, one of our party of 4 became ill while in Osaka, and we were unable to check into this property in Tokyo as planned. We understood there would be no refund. Ash said he'd hold it through our rental period, and 2 days later 2 of us tried to come for a few nights. However, Typhoon Lan turned for a direct hit in the Osaka area, so we needed to reunite our group and only stayed one night in this property. Much appreciation to Ash for accommodating such a strange turn of events on this trip. The property itself is HUGE for a Tokyo rental, and filled with many amenities and comforts. The location 5-10 min walk to the subway was great, and a quiet and safe neighborhood. I would completely rent this property again! We were disappointed that illness and a typhoon got in the way of our week in Tokyo, but that's just how things happen sometimes. We made it back to Osaka on the last shinkansen before the lines were shut down for 2 days, and still had a wonderful trip! Thank you to Ash for being so adaptable to our ever changing situation!

This was our first time visiting Japan and this was the perfect place to get acclimated to the city. It’s located in a quiet local neighborhood within walking distance to the train and several restaurants including the much needed 711. Our hosts made the check in process very easy with with a fantastic welcome packet that gives you all you need to know and he even met us at the station on a rainy night with umbrellas to lead us to the rental. We enjoyed staying in this quaint traditional Japanese home. It was very comfortable for our group of six adults and is well stocked with all that we needed. I wouldn’t hesitate staying here, or any other of their properties. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality!

The Samurai House was a wonderful home base in Tokyo for myself and my three teen kids! Each of us had our own space to retreat to when we needed some quiet time, and the main living room on the upper floor was also great for shared family time.
The house is large for Tokyo standards but built for folks of Japanese stature circa mid-1950s, so beware of low doorframes if you are a tall American. :) Everything in the house was in great shape, and the AC was delightful on muggy summer days.
We loved the location as well. It is about a 2 minute walk to multiple restaurants and the local 7-11, and a 3-4 minute walk to the Nakano-shimbashi station on the Maronouchi line as well as even more restaurants, takeout sushi and bento places, etc. Super convenient and easy for my 13yo to navigate and buy himself snacks when he was awake early due to jet lag.
Our hosts were fantastic as well. They explained the house and neighborhood requirements for all of us, were always responsive to questions ("My kid forgot some clothes; where's a good place to buy some?..."), and checked in occasionally just to see how things were going for us.

We traveled together with another family, 9 of us in total. 5 adults and 4 kids. House was very accommodating and big enough so we didn’t feel crowded. Great location with lots of food options. Lots of comfortable beds, stocked kitchen, super clean, washer/dryer. We really appreciated that host greeted us in person and gave lots of great recommendations since it was our first destination in Japan. Would definitely stay there again!

Quiet , but close to everything needed
Nice quiet place with easy access to everywhere you want to go in Tokyo. Host were great . Met us at the train station showed us where the local food stores, restaurants were. There was a small problem with the listing being inaccurate but they corrected the listing Immediately and apologized . Home was big enough for our 6 person family comfortably.

Great house/location
Great house for a large group, everything was as advertised. Beds were very comfortable and even had a crib for a baby and bunch of toys! We were there for the biggest Typhoon in recorded history to hit Tokyo and the owners kept in touch constantly and helped with the storm shutters. They have everything down to a science - thanks for a great stay!

Nice quiet neighborhood for food sleep but close to transportation
Thanks so much for your wonderful house! There was so much space! Didn’t expect that in Tokyo! It was perfect for our family—good beds for much needed sleep. Close to a market and the subway stop was super close! Can’t wait to stay here next time :)

exactly as advertised, outstanding in every way.
great location except finding the Marunouchi Line at Shinjuku was elusive and can be very tricky, not sure there is much Ash can do about that...
