Other things to note
I often get asked why it's called the Sandy Anchor. There is a picture inside the condo that tells the story, but I figured I should share it here as well.
My father was born in the Netherlands, just a few miles inland from Europe’s largest port of Rotterdam. The Dutch are known around the world as a seafaring people, but not my father. In fact, the ship bringing his family to America when he was just five collided with another and had to return to port.
My family has lived in St. Augustine for almost 40 years. A few years ago, we rented a pontoon boat for a day on the Intercostal Waterway. As we stopped for lunch, my father tossed the anchor towards the marsh. As it sank out of sight, my brother calmly asked, “Shouldn’t that be tied to the boat?” And thus the legend of the Sandy Anchor began.
Enjoy your stay!

Plenty of room, loved the dining table. The washer and dryer were amazing- even enjoyed the laundry room.
These are not complaints by no means because the place really was perfect for us. l think you should know that one couch was very uncomfortable . The kitchen trashcan was way too small. Also, the back porch was too crowded. It’s nice to offer what was there but we had three kids so we weren’t sure what to bring. The kids toys that were there were brittle and needed to be thrown away. Everything was sandy also. These are the only things that come to mind and in the grand scheme of the trip they are very minor.
We were there two weeks and the location was fantastic. We are very interested in going back next year, if you could give us a price for July 5-20 2025 that would be greatly appreciated.

Great location and accommodation was as advertised. I really appreciated the owners quick attention when we had an unexpected problem with the fridge. He and the manager provided quick temporary solution until repaired. I would definitely stay again.

This condo was perfect for our first St Augustine getaway. It is clean and well-appointed. There are several restaurants within walking distance. The beach is across a road that can be busy at times. The owners of the condo thoughtfully provide a beach wagon and accessories to make the trek to the beach easier. I love that the unit is ground floor. The overall place is very quiet. Perfect for families.

Very comfortable and close to pool. I found the condo to be clean and ready for checkin. St Augustine is a lovely place to vacation and have family reunions there was only four of us and had plenty of space.
I would book this unit again.

We have stayed at this complex for many years, in different units. The location to the beach and restaurants is great. The complex is gated & very nicely maintained. We had a little mix up at check in, however once we contacted the owner the situation was resolved. They surprised us the next morning with a card & small token of apology. We love it there!

Great location
The house was clean, comfortable, beautifully decorated and very spacious for our family of 6. IIt was an easy walk to the beach and the kids loved playing in the pool. Great location next to many restaurants, ice cream and donut shops. We would definitely stay here again!

We stayed here
The cookware was unusable so if you are going to cook, please bring your own pots and pans. The condition of the condo was OK but could have been cleaner. King bed slept good (it had a box spring) but the guest bedroom did not have a box spring....it is a platform bed. It's alright if you are a really short person or a child but not suitable for elderly adults.

Wonderful!
From start to finish our stay at Peter's Sandy Anchor condo was amazing. He was wonderful to work with and the accommodations were lovely. The complex as a whole is in a great location and there were many wonderful families and residents on the grounds who we enjoyed meeting. We had a truly wonderful time! The condo is spacious and accommodated our family of six, including one teen who got her own room!

First Vrbo experience was wonderful!!
This was our first time renting with Vrbo and we couldn't have been luckier with our condo or found a better host! Peter is VERY responsive to his guests! During our stay we had a few simple questions and almost immediately he responded.
The condo was fantastic!! The front hall has 2 of the first 3 guest rooms, then an open concept "living space" for family gathering followed by a nicely sized master suite. The chosen decor is simply and tastefully done.
St Augustine beach is literally across the street!! St Augustine is a very walkable town. Publix (the main supermarket) is just straight down the road in a shopping center about 5 minutes away so you can get everything you need to fix meals in the lovely condo kitchen. Downtown Augustine is about 10 min away and you can spend a few days being entertained there with museums, parks, restaurants and outlet shopping. But if you want to stay close, A1A Beach Blvd has restaurants and diners as well.

Great place to stay!
We had a wonderful time at the Sandy Anchor. Plenty of space for us to sprawl out (2 adults, 3 kids). Everything was neat and tidy and the kitchen drawers and cabinets were all labeled, making it easy to find everything. Communication with Peter was great and he always responded quickly to my questions. The location was great, as we were close to everything. We all got lots of use of the pool too! Would definitely stay here again!

The Sandy Anchor in St. Augustine Beach
We have just spent 2 weeks at the Sandy Anchor and loved it! The condo is spacious and clean and well decorated and felt quite homey. The location is great also- just across the road from a great beach, the Pier, restaurants and shopping. The complex itself has a large heated pool with lots of seating and a lovely pond with fountain, ducks and turtles. The condo itself has everything you need for your stay. We will definitely stay there again!

Great Location
Would stay here again, so easy to walk to beach and restaurants. Would have liked a table and chairs on the porch to eat breakfast at and have cocktails in evening. The condo is decorated really nice. All the comforts of home. Cozy up the patio and it will be perfect!

super nice condo walking distance to the beach and pier
The condo was very pretty and much larger than it looks in photos. Loved the huge master suite with a gigantic soaking tub. We had 7 people and it was just fine size wise. Only items I would suggest is a few more dining chairs and maybe a table w chairs for the lanai. Will stay here again! Very attractive community with a resort style heated pool and gym and clubhouse so you had the resort amenities but it was quiet and peaceful (not like a hotel). Owner was very responsive and helpful.

Relaxing Vacation
Awesome vacation!! Perfect location with an inviting and comfortable atmosphere to relax. Walking distance to several local restaurants and literally across the street from the beach. Highly recommended whether traveling with family or just a couple getaway (which we did). The place was well kept, roomy and it felt like “home away from home”. We enjoyed our stay so much that we opted one extra day - thanks to the owner. Our first trip to St. Augustine and won’t be our last 😎

Very attentive manager when there were problems. Amenities could not easily accommodate 6. Could use additional chairs and a larger table so we could eat together.

Great unit, very clean and well stocked!
Resort was very nice. Easy walk to the beach and world famous Rita’s Italian Ice! Only short coming we saw is that dining table in the unit was inadequate, too small.

Home Away From Home
This was out first trip to St. Augustine and the Sandy Anchor was definitely a home away from home. There were seven if us total and the condo had plenty of room and all the amenities you could want. The property was also super clean and beautifully decorated. The complex was also beautiful with a fountain, pond and even some adorable wildlife in the form of turtles and ducks. The location was right across the street from the pier and ocean as well as great places to walk to eat or get ice cream. It was also about a 10 minute drive from downtown St. Augustine. Perfect location!! The owner was also super nice and responsive to our questions and even let us know that the property was ready for early arrival!!! I highly recommend the Sandy Anchor and would definitely stay there again!!

Great location.
This was a perfect location for a family. Condo is about 10 mins from downtown and only a few minute walk to the beach. Condo is across the street from the pier and is near many restaurants. The condo itself is very clean and has everything you need for your stay. If we were to go back to st. Augustine, it would be hard to stay anywhere else.

Can't Wait to Come Back!!!!
We were in town for a family wedding in the White Room and had multiple families staying at St. Augustine Beach. The location was perfect! Short walk to the beach, restaurants, shops and our to other family who were there.
The condo was very clean and had plenty of space for all us (were 6-7 people at any given time during the week). Having a pool to jump in after the beach was a plus. We even used the fitness room.
The owners responded within minutes when we had questions and took care on everything for us.
Would definitely recommend this rental to anyone coming down to the area. We are hoping to make a return trip soon!
Thanks for a great week:)

Relaxing and Spacious
We stayed here for the weekend for a special event. This is a great place that's very spacious and relaxing to stay in. Within walking distance to anything up and down the beach. Very clean and has a great little screened in porch on the lakeside to sit and enjoy your morning cup of joe. The owners are very understanding and easy to communicate with. I look forward to the next time we book this property.

Lovely place
It was a great place and great value. Newly remodeled and more than enough room for our family of 5. Quiet neighborhood. Easy walk to the beach and pier; short drive to Bridge of Lions and all St. Augustine has to offer. We had some user error with the lock initially and received immediate help. Great amenities made for an easy stay. We accidentally left some items in the condo and they contacted me and returned it promptly, which was greatly appreciated. I would be happy to stay here again.

Pictures do not do the place justice. Bigger than it seemed from pictures.
We had an amazing time at the sandy anchor. Peter was an excellent host that communicated well and was easy to reach. The place was very clean upon arrival and is just steps away from the beach. Could not have asked for a better place to stay for a very fair price! The beds were very comfortable (even the bunks) and the kitchen was nice as well. Plenty of cool places to walk to for food, drinks, and ice cream. We would definitely come back and stay here.

Perfect Location
The Sandy Anchor was very clean, well decorated and inviting. It is also roomy and in the most perfect location. Just a short walk across the road is the pier, beach, play and slash park. There is also a pavilion that had a drum circle and a farmers market all within walking distance. We had dinner at the Sunset Grill next door which was also just a short walk from the condo. The pool was warm and the kids loved it. We enjoyed having coffee on the patio and listing to the fountain in the pond. The kids loved the bunk beds! The king size bed in our room was a major plus. Plenty of towels, some beach chairs and a nice size kitchen with our own washer and dryer were all extra's! We hope to return to the Sandy Anchor year after year. Thank you!

Beautiful and comfortable place to stay!
The Sandy Anchor was the perfect place for us to stay when we visited St. Augustine for four days with our two college-age children and four little ones! Everyone was comfortable with the sleeping arrangements. We had room to spread out and space to curl up together in the evenings to chat or watch movies. The owner was quick to answer all of my questions, and he went out of his way to make sure that we were able to retrieve some toys that we accidentally left behind. We didn't visit the beach on this trip since it was cold (for Florida) but we were a short, beautiful drive from the historic St. Augustine sites and Nights of Lights where we spent the majority of this trip. We loved the decor of the condo!! It's obvious that a lot of thought went into it. It feels like a beach house! (And, other than a few breakable things that we moved up off of a bottom shelf when we arrived, I was able to relax and not worry about our little ones accidentally breaking anything.) The whole condo has been recently renovated and feels new and clean everywhere. Thank you so much, Peter and family, for the great stay! It was just the getaway that we needed! We can't wait to come back!
