We enjoyed this cottage so much! It was clean, had just the right amount of space, and had a huge backyard for our dog to play in. The owner was also very helpful and answered any questions we had. If you ever need a place to stay in Washington, or are going to an ECU game and don’t mind the short drive, this is the place to stay!!

We spent two days with our daughter. This is in a nice, quiet neighborhood and the house was very comfortable. Plenty of room, a full kitchen, living room and dining area, a nice yard, etc. Communication with the owner was excellent; very responsive. It’s located within a short walk to the water, has a playground and tennis/pickleball courts nearby. 5 minute drive to downtown Washington and nice shops, restaurants, etc. You could even walk down there from this house; it was just too hot to do that while we were staying here. Overall, a great little place in a very good location.

This was our first home vacation rental experience, and it was exceptional! The owner was generous with her time to answer questions throughout our planning and the trip itself. The house and location were exactly what we needed while visiting ECU, enjoying Washington, and traveling with two small dogs. We hope to return again in the spring!

Hats off to Patricia for providing such a lovely and comfortable cottage. Will come again when we need changes in latitudes and changes in attitudes!

Beautiful older house on a large lot near the river park. Everything is walkable, dining, bars, river park. Backyard is canopied by Pecan Trees. The back deck is the perfect place to chill in early morning or just prior to bed. Quiet neighborhood.

Patty's home was lovely and equipped with everything we needed to enjoy our weekend in this beautiful historic town. We had a bit of a rainy Saturday so our host even texted me to make sure we knew where the umbrellas and extra towels for the dog could be found. The location is an easy walk to the waterfront and the shops and restaurants downtown.

The cottage was just as I had expected. Quaint, cute and clean! All I could ask for. Had lots of amenities including condiments in the fridge, towels, toilet paper, paper towels etc. Even coffee for the morning! You can tell the cottage has been cared for and those visiting have done a good job of not destroying it. Patti was very communicative and helpful throughout the entire process. Would highly recommend!

We loved our stay at this adorable cottage! It has a large yard with beautiful trees, a large kitchen and my husband and I loved having two bathrooms! The sofas are very comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked with all your basic supplies, and the cottage is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood but so convenient to everything! We loved being able to walk right out the door and explore the historic district and the river walk. The cottage is clean and has a very homey feel to it. Cozy cottage
We really enjoyed our stay in Washington while visiting family. Patty was a great host and stayed in touch periodically. The cottage is bigger then I originally thought from the pictures—-plenty of room to spread out and relax. The beach vibe of the home provided a peaceful retreat. Impeccable job on the cleaning— you smelled the freshness as soon as you walked in. Looking forward to future stays. Thanks Patty!

Great location, perfect size
Extended family travelled to see grandparents for Christmas. My husband, our adult children and I stayed here as the “overflow house”. Although we were rarely at the house, it was a comfortable, quiet place to sleep and having two full bathrooms was great for the five of us. There was a roll away for one son to sleep on. We did not cook or eat at the cottage, however, the kitchen was a good sized space to prepare meals. We would stay again next time the entire family goes to grandma and pop’s for Christmas!

The Tilted Cottage
House was exactly as advertised. Very clean and very nice. Patty was kind enough to leave a full cab off coffee for the mornings. My wife and I visited Washington NC as a “midpoint” and we’re met by my brother and sister-in-law ! Had a relaxing and fun time. The Estuary tour and boat ride was excellent!

Work remote and enjoy a few days away
We went to check out a boat nearby and needed a quiet spot where we could work and have room for our toddler. I do telehealth and the internet was great-loved that my husband could walk to the park downtown with our 2 year old when I saw clients so I could have privacy. Washington is very cute! Great seafood and an up and coming town-we enjoyed seeing all the beautiful historical homes and the many works in progress. We’ll be back and will definitely check to see if the tilted cottage is available. Owner was super responsive and helpful

Beacon in the night!
I live in Texas and got word that my mother, who lived in North Carolina, had passed away suddenly. My husband and I had to pack and quickly find a place to stay. I really wanted to take my heart dog, Sky, who is a German Shorthaired Pointer, because she is a huge comfort during tough times. I booked Ms. Franz's cottage. She was so kind and caring during our correspondence. She assured me that there would be a warm, welcoming home waiting for us at the end of our 18-hour drive. There was even a beautiful candle (electric-no flame) in the front window that was like a beacon in the dark for us during this difficult time. The cottage was well stocked, spotlessly clean and decorated so comfortably! We would love to stay again, but under better circumstances, hopefully. Thank you so much for making our stay stress-free and wonderful. We appreciate it so much!!
