About this cabin rental

This is a true getaway. We searched the enitre area of the Russian River before we settled on this property. Camp Meeker is unique with its logging history, post San Francisco earth quake. After it was done as a logging camp it was developed as a vacation community. Families have owned properties for multi generations and some became full time residents. It is fun to hear the family histories and tales of days gone by. It is central to the RussianRiver, ocean, Redwoods, wine country, and all of the entertainment, activities, and open countryside of West Sonoma county. The cabin is a great place to leave your daily life behind and truly disconnect. We get some cell coverage, but its more a place to reconnect to each other. We enjoy sharing our space with friends and family, but both agree, it is best with just us two. We chose to not put TV, and all of the other distractions of daily life so that it would feel like time away from our daily life. We have shared some of our best meals in our backyard Redwood grove. It's a place to come home to after a day of enjoying what you love to do outside, enjoy a GREAT SHOWER and a fantastic night of rest. The entertainment available in West Sonoma county is endless, via festivals, wineries, and farm trails. Where there is wine there is great food. We are pet friendly to responsible and well trained owners of pets. It is necessary to advise us in advance of any booking request that includes bringing a pet. We do not have complete fencing, so your dog can not be left unattended out of doors and must have good indoor manners. We love the children we raised as I am sure you love yours, but our cabin is made as a true getaway..

Overall, the property is exactly what we were hoping for a weekend getaway. It was a clean and open space, had a very beautiful outdoor space in the woods (unfortunately too rainy to use, next time). Also the location is perfect for those who want to feel far away but close enough to everything. Occidental is just a short drive down the road, but you also have the option to go to Healdsburg, Jenner, Sebastopol, Guerneville and more within 15 - 30 minutes. Definitely hope to stay again!

We loved our stay in the cabin: it is super cozy, and the location is great. It is surrounded by the redwoods, and pretty quiet. We would definitely stay again.

Cozy little cabin well equipped to sleep a couple in the bedroom and/or another person on the sofa bed in the sunroom. Sofa bed mattress is an air bed and is remarkably comfortable. Kitchen has most of what you need (no mixer or blender). Coffee maker and electric kettle, I baked a birthday cake in the convection oven and it worked fine. Refrigerator is small small so don’t overstock it. Wine stays nice and cold. Shower is excellent. Cute town of Occidental is a breath away and has restaurants and markets. 25 minutes to Doran Beach and loads of nearby walks/hikes. Take a quick trip to Healdsburg for upscale shopping and to the wine country. Or sit on the deck and veg. This is also dogville and the owner kindly allows small dogs. Have a relaxing lovely time!

Mostly great! Wish there had been dish towels and more bath towels. We rented the property for 4, but there were only 2 bath towels. Also, the propane bottle ran empty as we were cooking the first night. The cabin was very clean, and instructions for use were excellent. Very quiet. Loved the outdoor patio, especially in the morning. Mosquitoes were bad in the evening. Also, tried to put together dragonfly puzzle. At least one piece is missing. Enjoyed a great game of cards on our last night. The close proximity to the beach was also great. Enjoyed our stay. Thank you very much.

This was intended to be a nature retreat away from the city and the beautiful cabin achieved just that. Incredible location. Quiet. Peaceful. Rejuvenating. The whole space is a dream: from the shower to the outdoor area. It was just what we needed to escape our hectic life for a sliver of time. Communication with host was incredible. Very comfortable house for the two of us. Easy to relax; setting among the tall redwoods was peaceful and beautiful. Backyard sitting area was beautiful- just a bit too chilly to use it this time! Listing was accurately represented. Only a few notes-I tried to link my I-phone via Bluetooth to the Bose speakers but it was only available for a computer link…unless I completely missed an instruction step (which could be quite possible!!!!). It took one morning to adjust to the early rooster wake up call next door but it really was not a problem for us. Overall, excellent rental.

A perfect gem nestled in the redwoods with wonderful amenities and NO TV (but WiFi for connecting to your phone or pad). My daughter and her dogs were here for a mom/daughter get-away and some hiking. Cozy, completely furnished one bedroom with a comfortable sofa bed for the extra guest. Great kitchen. Lovely bath and shower. The home warms up nicely thanks to a thermostat controlled gas log stove. Pet friendly and close to a variety of Sonoma County spots. Hiking, beach walking, cafes and some shopping in wine country. Gracious host who has really thought of your needs. OH those plush bath towels! Perfect!!

This was our second time staying at this property. My husband and I absolutely love the location. Maureen is so wonderful. The cabin is comfy and cozy. We truly hope to continue to stay in coming years.

The property was a great retreat for our vacation visiting family in Sonoma county. The location had parking for 1 large car which is rare for Camp Meeker. In general, it was fairly quiet and the amenities (coffee/tea station, oven, microwave etc) worked great with extra instructions set out if needed.

We had such a nice time at this cozy little cabin. It was a perfect place for our anniversary trip. Hosts were very responsive and have put a lot of thought into making this a comfortable place to unwind.

My husband and I needed a reset and Maureens’s property couldn’t have been better. Maureen and her husband really put the time into planning the perfect getaway home from design and decor of the inside, to the outside setting among the redwoods. The view of the redwoods inside the home is stunning…still thinking of it. Also, the location is perfect as it’s a lovely drive to the coast, Russian River and nearby towns.

This Tower Road gem in Camp Meeker was the perfect retreat for our 48th wedding anniversary. The cabin was well organized, well stocked, clean and nicely decorated to inspire happy, connecting energy. We loved the beauty and serenity of towering redwood tress, The quiet was haunting at first and then glorious after our first day. The outside patio gave us a platform of comfort and beauty for reading and enjoying sunsets and quiet solitude. A special thank you to whoever came to turn on the twinkle lights and open windows for fresh air before we arrived. It made us feel welcome! We hope to return next year for our 49th wedding anniversary. It is our happy place!
