Great location in Sleeping Bear Dunes area. Short drive to Glen Arbor and Beach. Excellent location in a wooded area, we heard deer, owls, and donkeys! Highly recommend this property.

Still waiting in a call back! Was supposed to get relocated the second day and spent the whole vacation on the phone with vrbo the host and the police!

Perfect place for our family. Loved the remote setting, yet close to everything we wanted to see. Climbed the sand dune at sleeping Bear, took a cruise to South Manitou Island and enjoyed the beaches of Lake Michigan. Wonderful area

Fantastic, quiet, secluded home in the woods...yet with plenty to keep us entertained. Exactly what we needed and easy access to beaches, Sleeping Bear, Traverse City and all the amazing things we love about the area. Would love to stay again!

Great location! Perfectly situated to explore Sleeping Bear dunes in Empire/Glen Arbor as well as the Cherry Festival in Traverse City. We had 3 adults, 3 kids, and 1 small maltipoo. The basement den/fun room was amazing, even if our kids preferred the upstairs couches and TV (sigh). The deck was great for curling up and reading. Perfect quiet, woodsy base for our trip!

We had a great week in this house that provided everything we needed. Ted was very responsive and you can’t beat the location, close to the national park, Glen Arbor, and Leland. Also very close to the beach.

This property was clean, cozy, and comfortable for a week long stay and is in a great location to check out all the wonderful spots on the Leelanau peninsula. The property is private and rustic enough to feel like your in the middle of nowhere, and inside is very nice and well furnished. The owner even makes bikes and other items from the large garage available for your use, which was great for bike rides to Good Harbor Bay beach. Highly recommend this property for a family trip.

Set deep in a wooded area and very peaceful day or night! Big upper level open concept living room/kitchen that you get to with stairs. Kitchen equipped with everything you may need! Best part is the the downstairs connected pole barn filled with all things fun for kids… my grandsons had a blast and spent many hours down there in the batting cage. Dogs were welcome here too!
Thanks Ted

Condition and contents of the property were unacceptable
Contents and condition of the property were unacceptable. Two hunting rifles, four crossbows, hundreds of rounds of ammunition and dozens of target and hunting arrows were visible and accesible in the garage, garage recreational and garage sleeping area and family room. Owner reluctantly removed them to a storage shed and reluctantly put a padlock on it. We continued to find ammunition up to the last night of our 14 day visit. The garage was filled with construction equipment and materials, personal clothing, boxes of shoes, books, photographs, old furniture, ... . The garage recreational and sleeping area were unusable. The family room, kitchen, dinette, two bedrooms and one bathroom are accesible only by the exterior stairs ( 21 stairs ) leading up to the deck. Owner's childrens'/grandchildrens' clothing was in 5 of the 9 drawers in one bedroom. Two loads of laundry were left in the two dryers, one load of wet laundry left in washer upstairs and dirty sheets were left waded up in the bedroom storage closet. No hangars in the only closet located in the "master" bedroom. Deck needs some attention and some kitchen items need to be replaced ( only 2 wine glasses and 3 coffee mugs ). Area under deck needs to have construction equipment and materials removed. Log splitting machine needs to be removed or properly stored. The location and wooded setting of the property are very nice.

House in Woods
The house was fine. The main living area was clean and in good shape. Being close to Glen Arbor was nice. It was also nice to have two sets of washers and dryers.
The main issue was with the internet. The internet is very slow and virtually non-existent. I could not even send emails, it was so slow. This was disappointing because I had to work and had to go into town to do it.
Also, the pictures showed the garage and basement area as being organized and clean and they looked like a possible place to sleep. But that wasn’t the case. The area was very dirty and piled with stuff.
Overall, it was fine and no major complaints other than the internet.

Delightful Backwoods Getaway
This "barndominium" style getaway was very nice. Great finishes, stellar views, close to Sleeping Bear Dunes, Glen Arbor, and Fishtown.

Natural Beauty
The property was amazing and the scenery was beautiful. It was about a 30-40 minute drive from town, so you are definitely cut off from the outside world. I would recommend this place 10/10 times.

Beautiful setting and lovely home
The setting is so private, beautiful and peaceful, deep in the woods in Leelanau County and yet close to Glen Arbor and Maple City (good food in both), as well as the gorgeous Pyramid Point trail at Sleeping Bear Dunes. Nice deck for coffee and reading and space for fire pits and hammocking. Very relaxing setting in a fabulous location.

Cool Lodge In A Great Spot!
Really comfortable and fun property. Ping pong and hitting cage in the basement was a hoot. Only downsides were the place has no window coverings (got us up early at least) and there was no TP.

Loved this place. Lot of activities close by. Lots of things to do at the house. Ted was very responsive to questions. House was super clean. Our family including the 2 dogs had a great stay.

Wonderful Property and Stay!
This is a clean and secluded property in Northern MI. Ted was responsive and easy to work with. The property was close to both Leland and Glen Arbor, but of course, wrapped along various forests and national parks. The house is fully stocked and everything felt clean from the floors down to the pots/pans. I would definitely recommend this house and location to anyone looking for a quiet time away. My family and I will certainly be looking to reserve this place again!

Peaceful Paradise
Location of this beautiful and comfortable home is perfect for enjoying all activities along M22–boating, swimming, biking, dining, hiking and more. We even did some curling! Then back to our quiet rental retreat to relax, grill and rest up for more fun in Northern MI.

Wish we could have stayed longer!
If not for a commitment at home, I would have asked if we could stay another night. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the area. The house is close enough to Glen Arbor, the dunes, and multiple trailheads to be an easy drive anywhere, but in the woods, so you feel like you’re camping on your own too. The setup of the two bedrooms was enough for our family of 5, without needing the loft or extra bunks downstairs. The batting cage and ping pong table in the garage were a cool surprise, and the boys liked the outdoor shower too. We didn’t get cell service in the forest preserve, and the WiFi could be a little weak in some sections of the house, but that just helped with unplugging for the week! Would definitely stay here again and have recommended it to friends already.

Super fun cabin in the woods
The cabin truly exceeded all expectations. It was lovely, sizable, clean, and had a bonus “basement/man cave” area that our active family absolutely loved. Bikes, ping pong, a batting cage, etc etc etc, located a mile from the bike path to Glen Arbor and beyond. We and our adult kids loved it! Thanks for a great time!

We'll be back!
Great property and good people. Perfect getaway in the woods and a short drive from anywhere you'd want to go while visiting.

The property was everything that we hoped for plus more. The accommodations were roomy and clean and the kitchen was well equipped. While we did not take advantage of the extras on the first floor, we did enjoy the fire circle, outdoor lighting, and nearby trails. Ted was very accommodating (we had a short power outage the first day, and he was very responsive and helpful).

Great for exploring Sleeping Bear Dunes
Home is off the beaten path but close to Glen Arbor and the Sleeping Bear Dunes Park. The home was perfect for our family of 4, the owner was responsive and good to work with and the location was ideal. Would not hesitate to recommend to others.

Peaceful Location - Very Comfortable Home
We loved the tranquility of being in the woods - a great respite from the stress of today's world. We loved hanging out on the upper deck. The house is big and comfortable with everything you need. The kitchen is updated and has everything a cook would need. Our host was available and friendly and he made great recommendations. We recommend the property for couples and families.

Lovely home in secluded woods yet close to town
We had a great week hiking and teaching our dog to swim. The house was well stocked with anything one might need. Beds are comfy and it was nice to have a workout area downstairs.

Cabin in the woods
This place was perfectly located just outside of Glen Arbor for everything we love to do. We love to like the dunes in glen arbor, hit north bar lake for a beach day, explore fish town and get a sandwich at the cheese shanty, catch a sunset at good harbor beach, and head to Sutton’s bay for dinner at hop lot.
The cabin was spacious enough for two families and the kitchen area was very nice. Ceiling fans and a/c made the cabin very comfortable. Only one bathroom/shower upstairs but there was a bathroom in the pole barn (connected to the cabin but down a flight of Outside stairs) and an outdoor shower that made morning bathroom trips and showers more manageable. We enjoyed a bonfire one night and the kids enjoyed exploring the woods and star watching at night. We would stay here again.

peaceful
The property was exactly as pictured/described online. Sometimes we find things are not quite what we expect, but this was right on. Beautiful setting. Comfortable accomodations. We did not expect to drive down a dirt road to get there, but it was part of the experience. The fire pit, hammock, and cool stuff in the garage were all fun surprises. We made a fire the first night, and it was dead quiet outside. All we could hear were the coyotes off in the distance. I really appreciated the lay out of the lodge. It was perfect for our family to relax, but still be all together. I also loved the large soaking tub. Ted gave us a great recommendation for dinner, too. Overall it was wonderful. We would love to stay here again.

Beautiful Home
The property was amazing. I was a little surprised at first that it was so remote and back a dirt road but as we stayed there we absolutely loved the quiet location in the woods VS other busy town areas, yet it was close to everything we wanted to do. The past reviews were awesome on where to go and what to do. When we first got there we were disappointed as none of the TV's worked. The owner Ted had Dish TV come out on Sunday and he worked all day to get the TV's up and running for us. He made it right! The grocery store was a bit of a ride but we just bought all we needed for the week and it worked out fine. The house had everything we could ever need especially in the kitchen, grilling out on the deck was nice and sitting around the bonfire was awesome. There was even a radio outside. Loved the bikes and ping pong table in the garage...and a full batting cage. The only challenge we had was the 1 bathroom in the main house and shower for 7 of us to get ready.... but when we discovered the outdoor shower, that was perfect for us. There is an extra bathroom in the basement as well, you just need to walk outside and downstairs to get to it. It all worked out great. It was a wonderful vacation and our first time in Michigan!! Thanks to the owner for coming out and answering any questions and provided ideas on what to do and where to go!

Quiet, peaceful, lovely
Just what we were looking for, peace and quiet, off the beaten path, but not so far out that we couldn't drive easily, Traverse City, Northport, Glen Arbor, Lake Leelanau, Sleeping Bear Dunes, all within a half hour. Lodge was well-appointed and comfortable. Would stay here again.

A true hidden gem in the woods!
What a special place in the woods between Leland and Glen Arbor. This place had it all and was very clean and well appointed! The living space is up a flight of stairs and you are literally among the trees! Everything you need in the kitchen, TVs in every room, yet so peaceful if you want to "disconnect" from the world. The garage was a huge space, with plenty of fun- ping pong, bikes and fitness equipment. We enjoyed our time on the deck, grilling out or coffee in the early morning. Fire pit was also used numerous times. This place would be an OUTSTANDING hunting or fishing lodge for the fall. Ted does an excellent job managing the place! I am glad we found it and now is on our lists of places to stay!
