Nestled on a rise overlooking the Tasman Sea Samten Pa Cottage is secluded although only 5km from Bermagui. The self-contained cottage adjoins the homestead on this remarkable 25 Acre coastal retreat. Bounded by wetlands,the Bermagui Flora and Fauna Reserve and native forests. Breakfast on the seaside veranda and enjoy the views. Barbeque in the sheltered court yard. Enjoy one of the many relaxing walks, explore the pristine wetlands, marvel at the forests or walk barefoot along the sparsely populated Haywards Beach. For the cycle enthusiast The Bermagui mountain bike track is just a few hundred meters away Laze about and read before dining out at one of Bermagui's restaurants or self cater in the well equipped kitchen. The cottage has two double bedrooms and two bathrooms. The living-dining room has extensive views as does the adjoining kitchen. A fully equipped laundry is also included The Region Bermagui is a small seaside town well off the highway and surrounded by State Forests, National Parks Lakes and State Reserves. There are many unspoiled beaches as well as a patrolled surf beach. The town has many restaurants, cafe's, wine bars and Art Galleries. The new Fisherman's Wharf complex houses many of these. The Country Club has a Golf Course and Tennis courts. Around the area there is historic Tilba to the north and the road to Tathra in the south passes through stunning coastal forests with many side tracks to lakes and beaches. Samten Pa has a delightful setting with mobs of kangaroos grazing on the surrounding grasses. The views are endlessly relaxing and my brother and I were both sorry to leave and sorry we weren't able to use our time there for more relaxation! The facilities are good and the space super clean. The hosts were available but respected our privacy. Thanks so much Alan and Annie.

Everything we needed for our week long stay. Good bed, good layout, plenty of cutlery and crockery. Far enough away from the busy town but close enough to pop in for anything we needed. Superb views from front veranda. Great for relaxing, walking, watching the wildlife on the marsh.

We had an amazing week here! The property is so peaceful, and equipped with everything you could need. Alan was close at hand to offer assistance if needed, without being at all intrusive. The cottage is close enough to Burmagui to easily access everything you need, but also feels like it's a million miles from anywhere. I could have stayed and watched the wildlife and the water for another week! Will definitely return here.

What an amazing spot. Very secluded with so much wildlife on the doorstep. So many different views which change constantly with the weather. We didn't switch on the TV, no need, watched the kangaroos and the sea instead! Everything you need is there, hosts are extremely helpful but it's also completely private. 5 minute drive to Bermagui township and the blue pool. Highly recommend. Thank you so much Alan and Annie.

Overall we had an amazing stay here and what's more the weather was fab!!! Comfortable beds, great amenities, magnificent views, losds of wildlife so would recommend taking binoculars with you. Just a short drive to wonderful beaches and the lovely town of Bermagui.

We stayed 2 nights at this special cottage set on acres of nature on the outskirts of Bermagui. I cannot imagine a more beautiful natural environment and outlook, or a more perfect small cottage for a coastal rejuvenation break. The cottage is full of light and well designed with good quality bedding and facilities. The host Alan was very kind and helpful: and it was a treat to find complimentary wine and milk in the fridge on arrival. This is a great base for exploring the area but would also be a perfect haven if it rained for yiur entire stay. You can feel snug inside while gazing out at the lakes and ocean, and trees and wildlife. I have stayed in a number of places in Bermagui, all very pleasant, but none compare with Samten Pa. I hope that I can return soon.

We had the most wonderful week at Alan and Annie’s house. It honestly, it was better than the pictures! The location was absolutely stunning and only a short drive to Bermagui town. Our boys (4yrs and 6yrs) loved spotting the animals on the property, the Kangaroos, echidnas, goanna and such an array of birds (galahs, cockatoos). To wake up at sunrise to hear the waves crashing and the mist lifting across the water was amazing. Alan was so warm and welcoming. We have left with such a love for Bermagui and so relaxed after our wonderful stay. Thanks for having us!

I can't express how wonderul our stay at the cottage was! Alan and Annie were wonderful hosts, with the most accompdating cottage that was very well equipped with the necessities of a stay. It was clean, pristine and homely and quickly became our home away from home.
The views from the property were astounding, with plenty of wilflife and a stunning water view. I'll have to admit that the photos in the listing don't do the cottage justice!

This property was just as advertised - beautifully situated, clean and well resourced. Our hosts were great communicators, generous and lovely people.
We enjoyed seeing whales, kangaroos, incredible bird life and turtles right off the verandah. So much to do in the area and lovely walks.

We flew over from NZ just to explore the Sapphire Coast and carefully researched and booked our accommodation ahead of time. Samten Pa Seaside Cottage looked very appealing on the website and proved to be the highlight of our time here. It has all the qualities we look for. A private wilderness location while being close to restaurants, a supermarket and good coffee. Wildlife right on the doorstep. A view to die for. Migrating whales just offshore. Warmly welcoming and helpful hosts in Alan and Annie. Beautifully appointed accommodation decorated with lovely art including Annie's own work. Isolated beach and bush walks. And so much to do and explore within 1-2 hours driving time.
We were sad to leave, and are feeling compelled to return. Thank you Alan and Annie.

This cottage, which adjoins the owner’s, is in a spectacular location overlooking both wetlands, with abundant black swans, and the ocean. We saw whales off the Bermagui headland, and enjoyed excellent coffee and pastries at Honor Bread in Bermagui. Property owners were both lovely and welcoming and very helpful when we had a minor first aid situation. We highly recommend this holiday location.

This place was exactly as advertised. Its views are magical. The front deck looks out over the lagoon and ocean, with the bright lights of bermagui in one direction, and rugged coastal rocks in the other. There are comfy lounges and a very well-equipped kitchen, and with big windows, the property is light and airy.
The balcony is east-facing, which makes it lovely and shady on a hot afternoon, but that sea breeze can be very chilly, so pack a jumper even in summer.
Most days we cycled from the property into town. The track is a little bit rough (no way to do it on a road bike!) but very enjoyable and takes about 15 minutes through bush trails and bike paths.

My Mum and I stayed for 3 nights - it’s the perfect spot to relax and unwind. Beautiful views and very tranquil. I really enjoyed watching the waves, the kangaroos and the bird life. Our hosts were great. I would definitely stay again.

What a beautiful place! We had a lovely time visiting Bermagui for the first time. A lovely little town with gorgeous beaches and countryside. Allan was a generous host and the property has an amazing view of the surrounding area. We enjoyed seeing the kangaroos and the bird life and spent many afternoons exploring the surrounding area. The house was comfortable and homely and was well appointed with everything we needed. We hope to return soon.

Beautiful views to the ocean and wetlands. Birds a plenty. Kangaroos grazing each evening. So peaceful. Comfortable clean cottage. Nothing more to ask for. Welcoming and friendly host. My 95 year old dad and I stayed for 5 nights. Could have stayed a lot longer. Hoping I can return.

We really enjoyed our short stay in this cottage. It was our base for a family wedding near Bermagui. The views from the cottage over lagoons, fields and ocean are stunning! Owners are friendly and helpful. The cottage is clean, well appointed, with a resident mob of kangaroos, wonderful bird life and a genuinely calming atmosphere. It is about 6 or so minutes drive out of Bermagui so very easy to get into town by car.

My family and I had a fantastic 3 night stay at this property. Upon entering the estate you are instantly greeted by the panoramic ocean view and the abundant wild life. The connection to nature we got is something we will never forget. Alan was an amazing host and provided us with great advice on places to visit at Bermagui. He prepared the property perfectly and we highly recommend a stay here for anyone looking for a beautiful and memorable coastal getaway.

Beautiful cottage with everything you could need, overlooking wetlands and the ocean. Loved sitting on the deck watching the kangaroos and listening to the birds and frogs. Even saw a whale, so amazing.

This is truly a lovely place to stay. The location is stunning, with great views to wetland and ocean. From the cottage one afternoon we saw some whales heading south early. Backing onto Spotted Gum Forest it feels a long way from "civilisation", but is very conveniently close to Bermagui. Alan and Annie were very welcoming and it was great to chat about the history of their property, appreciation of their local natural environment, including dedication to protection and regeneration over many years.

Amazing place! The views are gorgeous, the cottage amazingly clean, comfortable, functional, lovely decor, comfortable beds and pillows, quality linen and towels, kitchen equipped with everything you need, awesome and private barbecue area. Most of all Alan is a beautiful human being, kind and very helpful. We got to meet his son and he resembles his dad in all attributes.
The property is outstanding, private, yet close to all you need. The energy is so calm and welcoming, you just don’t want to leave! We are certainly coming back and not just a weekend away but at least a week. We recommend this property to anyone who wants to relax, enjoy and be in touch with nature.
