About this cottage rental
Mom was bored and decide to make her own Beach Retreat. This lovely two bedroom, one bath, is located on the beach road in Nags Head at mile post 16. There are two beach access close enough you don' t need to drive. By close they are 50 yards on each side. The one to the north does have an out door shower and foot wash, but there is also a water hose on the north side of the house. If is blowing be sure to wash off your car. There is a spacious front porch to enjoy your coffee and catch a glimpse of the ocean and a back deck for a cocktail and a sunset you won't forget.
A quick note about this property.
This property is a duplex and the other side Dad s Pad, # 1067106 is also in the Vrbo program along with another property two lots away # 1149486 and one in the heart of manteo #1135605.
The duplexes insulation is of the highest quality making sound from one side to the other or sound from outside to inside not an issue. Please read the reviews.
We have had more fun checking guests in personally and telling them about our Outer Banks than you know and can't wait for future guests to come enjoy any one of our places. Mom made them super cute and beach themed. If you wanted to go on vacation with some other families but like your space also, we have the spot for you and our family restaurant , the Dunes is right behind you for breakfast, dinner, carry out and a full bar with no driving required. Our places are safe and secure with storage for beach gear.
In the event of a hurricane or threat of one and you need to cancel. Not a problem! We give a full refund. We do not wish to profit from a storm and we will hope you can rebook at a future date and pick us and Nags Head year after year.
These places would be great for wedding parties and the others that come.
Want to bring your boat? Not a problem. We have plenty of room to put even the biggest of trailer-able boats.
There is lots to do. A 1000 foot pier, Jennette's, operated by the North Carolina Aquarium, is half a mile away for fishing and just to walk. Putt putt, go carts, and jet skis are across the street on the sound side, along with a public access. There are 10 restaurants within 3 miles. Fishing charters are available within a short drive down to Pirates Cove Marina. Nags Head Golf Links is 1 mile away with links style golf at its finest. Need someone to play with? Just let me know! They also gave me some discount cards. Hatteras ferry dock is an hour a way to the island of Ocracoke. My Family owns and operates the Dunes Restaurant for the past 34 years. We love the area and know you will have a great time staying here with us in Nags Head.
On Roanoke Island you will find a bunch of stuff to do. One is the North Carolina Aquarium. Its one of several in the NC system and also hooked to Jennetts Pier. Its a good go to for the whole family, I like to take a date there to kill some time on a cloudy day. Lots of animals and fish and even a jelly fish viewing. For the price its worth is. There is also the Lost Colony play that recreates the first English settlement in 1587 and what they think happened. It only plays in summer though. Most of the actors are college students in preforming arts. It has true story behind it, Indians and gun fights, Singing and Dancing, and great costumes. Its 20 for any seat and 25 or 30 and you get to go back stage.
In downtown Manteo there are shops from fine art to beach stuff, 4 restaurants, one with a brewery, a distillery, a child play ground, a replica of a light house, my grandad was stationed on the real one, a historic boat building shop, some charter boats for hire, a pirate ship, and the oldest family run movie theater, that is only 7 per person and they have great popcorn.

What a cool little place! Great location near everything. The beach accesses are a little further away than advertised but they're still very close, and they're usually empty. We just put everything in the car and drove to them vs walking 150yds with all our stuff.
Check in was a breeze, and the stay was wonderful!

We enjoyed our stay. The beds were very clean and comfortable, nice linens, sheets & towels. Well appointed kitchen. Shower was like new. A stackable washer & dryer would be a nice addition, especially if staying a week, we didn’t use downstairs laundromat.

We recently had a great stay at this property. The house was clean and had the perfect amount of room for the 4 of us. It was very close to beach access points and a short drive from the inlet. We brought our 21 foot boat and had no issues with parking. communicated with us prior ts prior to o

A little mix up with property address and location. Owner has multiple properties and sent us to wrong address and we then had to move after we had already unpacked. Owner did help us move. But after the initial aggravation everything else went well. Location is really good.

A very nice two bedroom cottage. Fairly easy access to the beach. Close to two very nice restaurants - The Dunes and Owens. And not far from Jenette's Pier.

Nice little spot with plenty of room for our family of four. Location is fantastic, just a block or two from the beach. You can see a little bit of the ocean from the front porch. Loved that the unit had a front and back deck. Also having washer and dryer was convenient as well. Patrick was great communicator and is a super nice guy. If you have a big group, I definitely suggest renting the other side of the duplex. Two families could rent the whole building and have a very fun vacation. Thanks for having us!

Good location, cute, clean place to stay not far from the beach. Its across the street & a fairly short walk to the beach. A nice location in that its pretty central on the long outer banks island! All necessities were there--we even cooked a few meals in the condo. No groceries or seasonings (besides salt & pepper) available there so be prepared for that. Nice linens & towels were provided & some TP & paper towels to start our week. The beds seemed firm. We did end up buying a good beach chair & the laundry, as mentioned in the description, is coin laundry. Patrick is very accomodating & friendly and The Dunes restaurant across the parking lot is not to be missed. We went there 3 times during our stay & wish we could go back! Coastal Creamery-super close-is, in our opinion, the gem on the island for ice cream! Austins Fish Co. we thoroughly enjoyed for fresh tuna steaks & scallops. Enjoy!:)

Nags Head Vacay 2020
What a great 5 days here in Nags Head! This was the perfect location to get to everything! We had all the basics that were needed in this unit. Patrick was the best from the moment we booked all the way to making recommendations on where to eat. The beach was gorgeous and never crowded in this area. We went hang gliding and did the airboat tour. You are right behind the Dunes restaurant and their breakfast is the best! Will be back!

Location is fantastic
This property is in an ideal location. The address on the property was a bit confusing. It doesn't have the number for this side of the duplex on the front. Bedrooms are small, but adequate and decorated cutely.
From the front porch there is an "almost" view of the ocean. It is walking distance to shops and restaurants and honestly, is in a fantastic spot. Patrick was exceptionally responsive when we had an issue with the deadbolt being stuck locked in the second bedroom access to the back deck. He was there in just a matter of minutes. There was no furniture on the back deck, so we really didn't use it. The bistro table in the kitchen area was tiny and not stable, but we used the peninsula countertop to eat.
Patrick was very quick to respond to us and we thoroughly enjoyed our week at the beach. The water was shockingly cold and there was a rip current that made going in almost impossible several days, but the sand was warm and it was sunny. Restorative to sit back under a sunshade and watch the waves and the surfers. Exactly the kind of vacation we needed.

Diamond in the sand
We had a great time in Nags Head. The place was clean and just a short 5 minute walk to the beach. Patrick was amazing with communication throughout our time. He gave us some points of interest. He also waited on us at his restaurant The Dunes which is right next door. The hush puppies are to die for!! Try them with the bourbon maple syrup you won’t be sorry. The beds we comfy and he had every thing we needed for our stay!!

Stress-free stay
This was a last minute trip as we were supposed to go to Toronto but had to cancel that. Just relaxed, enjoyed the beach & did some shopping with my husband, my sister & brother-in-law. Patrick was a gracious host. The beach house was the right space for the four of us. Just wished that we were at the beach front to enjoy a constant view of the ocean and didn’t have to walk a block. It was a nice stress-free 3-day stay!

Great Location
We enjoyed our stay in this duplex. It was the perfect location for us as we wanted to visit lighthouses and drove south and north. The beach access is also good. It was easy to reach and there was access both north and south. You can also walk to Jeannette’s Pier.
