In the literal HEART of Safety Harbor, Florida, "JD's Hideaway by the Sea" is a charming 1 bedroom / 1 bath cottage, located on the grounds of a 1926 historical bungalow in the redevelopment district of downtown. It is decorated in romantic elegance and just 2 blocks from Main Street! It's a perfect get-a-way to enjoy some quiet time- away from the world. The Private Heated Pool & Spa is only for the guests! No sharing a pool like you do in an hotel! All private just for our guests.

*Key West architecture; Bright colors, open porches, tin roof, picket fence, and tropical landscaping.

The Cottage is modern and very comfortable. This is a non-smoking room which accommodates 2 persons.

- If we find that the cottage has been left excessively dirty, you may be charged for an additional cleaning time, or in extreme cases, if we have to hire a professional cleaning company the fee is going to be $150.00. Have fun, yes. Big house-party, no ;-)

Cancellations are Strict:
Cancel up to 7 days before check in and get a 50% refund (minus service fees). Cancel within 7 days of your trip and the reservation is non-refundable. Service fees are refunded when cancellation happens before check-in and within 48 hours of booking.

This is the second time my sister and I have stayed at JD’s Hideaway. It has everything you need and the hosts are very friendly and the neighborhood is safe, clean and quiet. Everything is within walking distance, from restaurants to shops. We swam in the pool every day and the hot tub as well. We love the bonfire and lights at night. We always feel rested and pampered here. We will be back!!

The place is as described and nice. The outdoor space is ideal for evening and nighttime relaxation and you are very close to the Main Street and other local attractions ruins such as beaches. The owners stay onsite in their home while you visit, and that may be a bit of a concern for some, but we found them to be responsive to any requests and we never crossed paths in person with them during our stay. We would definitely recommend this location!

It was a great stay, we loved all the convenient touches such as a hanger station for clothes, some extra bathroom essentials and coffee selections. The pool was perfect temperature and clean. The bathroom shower had heavenly water pressure and bed was comfortable too. We really loved how walkable the area is, especially recommend eating at Nonas for sole really phenomenal pizza and Cafe Vino Tinto for breakfast and cappuccinos. Definitely would be back.

Our hosts were very attentive. They turned the hot tub & fire pit on when we wanted. We had private access to the pool, hot tub, fire pit, pool deck with 4 lounge chairs & an umbrella & 2 Adirondack chairs. Yard is fenced so very private. Green space is artificial turf so from May-October, wear sandals as it gets very hot. Bed is very comfortable & the hosts provided a generous amount of k-cups, beach towels, extra bath towels, TP. You do have control of the inside-temperature, which is not always the case at a VRBO. Great stay! Thank you Kathleen & Roger!

This property was great for a quick couples getaway! We loved the pool/hot tub at the home, and walking the quaint streets of Safety Harbor. We did a few dinners near Clearwater Beach (25 minute drive), and had great convenient breakfast and lunch spots within a 2-4 minute walk of the cottage! Owners were responsive and there when we needed them!

Really had a great time staying here while enjoying Phillies spring training. Cottage was great. So perfect for what we needed and the town of Safety Harbor was close and full of fun shops, restaurants, and bars. Just a few blocks walk and you’re in the midst of a quaint village. Great restaurants await! Tampa is but a half hour ride away and Clearwater is the same. Hosts provided a wonderful cottage full of amenities. Hot tub on demand! I can’t say enough good things about our stay. Don’t miss 3rd Friday each month where the town becomes a pedestrian heaven with music and great food. So much fun!

We had a wonderful stay in this little treasure of a cottage , just one block from Main St ,with plenty of eating places to choose from. The bed was super comfortable, the shower was great and the best part was the use of the private, quiet garden and pool. Many thanks to Roger and Kathleen , our unobtrusive hosts.

The property and location were beautiful. There were several thoughtful amenities such as coffee/teas/water/snacks/shampoo and soaps. When the listing mentioned a hot tub (an integral part of why I chose this property) I wasn't aware that I would have to contact the property manager in order to use it. The first night it took over 3 hours to get a response (messaging once an hour) in addition to leaving a voice mail. The second night I was just completely ignored after having made it clear I wanted to use the hot tub the next night. I have to say this was the biggest disappointment of the entire trip. I read other reviews about how responsive the host was, so I'm not sure the problem. I definitely did not feel like a priority.,

Everything was perfect was a weekend getaway. Hot tub, pool, lounging areas around the pool, and the room was nice and clean. Host was attentive and very helpful, I absolutely recommend a stay!

The listing is exactly as it states, it is perfect for a couple or a single person who wants to get out and about and do all the things this wonderful little town and area have to offer. There are almost a dozen restaurants and bars within a few blocks of walking distance. The quarters itself is as stated and very small with a tiny fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and only the bathroom sink so it is strictly for those who want to eat out at every meal and there are great choices nearby for that. The owners were very nice and had plenty of K Cups, creamers, snacks, and beverages. There were plenty of soaps and shampoos and for a tiny place everything had its place. Definitely nothing to complain about it, would definitely stay here again.

I chose this cottage because it offered me the use of the pool. The cottage included all the amenities I needed and the location was perfect for me to walk to breakfast, lunch, dinner and several parks. It was also located in a very quiet neighborhood. I will definitely stay here again!

Accommodations were okay. Unfortunately the lack of hot water was an issue. We were not able to use the inside shower. Also the lock on the door was difficult to use so we did not always feel safe. The pool area was beautiful and the owners were accommodating.

We enjoyed our exploring your town. Didn’t agreed with the extra cleaning cost you applied on Jan 29th, after we agreed to the initial cost. Comfortable bed, shower came out hot and cold.Enjoyed the yard for reading and exercise. To be fair you should refund the extra cleaning cost.

The cottage is small but modern and accurately described in VRBO documents. BUT open the door and there is a lush yard with swimming pool, hot tub and chaise lounges. How fun to pull a lounger on to the grass, stretch out, read, listen or snooze. I was a single renter and stayed for almost 2 weeks. Had a lovely time. If you prefer to cook this may not be for you. For me, it was fantastic, a Keurig, and microwave go a long way. Dishes, etc are also supplied. As a result I visited many restaurants during my stay and those I tried served delicious food of several genres. The hosts were accommodating, responsive and very genuine people. Safety Harbor is a town with a pleasant vibe and friendly businesses. An altogether perfect vacation.

This place is amazing! The hosts are very helpful and responsive. We needed to get away for some rest and relaxation and this really fit the bill. My husband has been battling cancer for a year now and finally got a break from chemo! I took him away for a surprise birthday trip. This is an excellent vacation spot. The pool and hot tub were great. We utilized the outdoor showers which were nice. We loved every aspect of it. Walking distance to the little town and close enough to beaches. Don’t hesitate to book with them. You won’t regret it!!

This was the perfect place for us! We had full use of the pool, jacuzzi, and fire pit. Privacy was not an issue. The owners were very helpful and friendly. It was an amazing little town with neat shops and restaurants within walking distance. Definitely one of our favorite places to stay!

We had such a great time at this beautiful property! Everything was perfect! We loved the cute studio we stayed in with a gorgeous bathroom and very comfy bed. The yard was gorgeous! So nicely decorated. The pool and hot tub were great. The outdoor shower was a huge bonus! We walked to downtown safety harbor and had a great time. We also went kayaking in safety harbor & that was so much fun! The hosts were kind and helpful. We really loved our time here!
