About this cottage rental
Ocean front home located at the end of a peninsula, on Fickett's Point in Milbridge, Maine. It is privately situated close to the ocean on three sides and a spectacular open view of the islands from the living room. This house is across the water from the town of Milbridge and has access to a sandy beach in back and a rocky beach in front.
Very quiet and very private.
You get sunset views over the water on one side and sunrise views on the other. If you like the sound of the ocean waves at night you will love this comfortable two bedroom home with a picture window and window seat in the living room looking out at the islands. Both beaches are private and easily accessible. You can launch a boat at the marina a mile down the road and cruise around the coast or easily pull a canoe or kayak down to the shore directly in front of the house. There is nice kayaking and canoeing all around the vicinity. The house is great for a husband and wife private getaway or a retreat for vacationers wanting a quiet and scenic place to forget their worries and just relax. Children will love the diverse collection of shells, beach-glass and things to find while beach-combing.
The house is, and has been, immaculately clean. It is supplied with all the amenities. This house is cheery, comfortable and cozy with lots of natural light. It has plenty of room inside and truly spectacular views.
We have wireless high speed internet and a smart t.v. too. There is a new gas fireplace for quiet cozy evenings. The house is surrounded by water on three sides. There are two very accessible beaches, both private, included on the property. This is a very peaceful area situated at the tip of a peninsula. This is the last house at the very end.
This house accommodates 4 (6 if you want to put a couple children on the roll away beds). All new appliances and fully outfitted for a restful vacation.
How far? The house is 1½ hours east of Bangor and the Bangor International Airport. 4½ hours northeast of Portland, 5½ hours from Boston and 10½ hours from New York City.
What's nearby? Acadia National Park. Also Campobello Island, New Brunswick (FDR's summer home) is within an hour and a half, as is Quoddy Head, easternmost lighthouse in the US.
Lobsters and clams are readily available in Milbridge (lobster and clam pots provided with cottage). This is one of the largest wild blueberry producing areas in the world, so there are plenty of berries available nearby during the season (late July through August); berry picking is permitted at Petit Manan National Wildlife Refuge in season.
Activities in this part of Maine include hiking the Petit Manan Coastal Wildlife Refuge trails, visiting the pink granite shores at McClellan Park in Milbridge, exploring the crashing surf at Acadia National Park’s Schoodic Point in Winter Harbor, hiking the Bold Coast up in Cutler, visiting the wonderful Milbridge historical society museum and, of course, checking out the tourist attractions in Bar Harbor.

The house is comfortable, clean, incredibly well equipped, private, safe, and quiet.
It is located on a point with water on three sides. You always know you are on the coast of Maine.
There is easy access to the water including the ability to kayak from shore.
It is a short drive into town to buy groceries and access restaurants. Beautiful hikes in the various parks are also easily accessible.

If you’re looking for privacy, natural beauty and clean accommodations, this is the perfect rental. It’s not fancy or modern but it provides everything you need and there’s a peaceful feeling the minute you walk in.
The owner and groundskeeper are easy to contact. Fresh lobster and other seafood are available at Chipman’s Wharf just down the street. Boat tours, pier fishing is all available. If you have kids or grandkids they will have plenty of room to run and go to the private beach for shells.
We loved it.

Well appointed and cozy house, with everything you could want - from toiletries to cookware!
But! The location!! Superb for relaxation - amazing views and the sound of waves, so peaceful. Literally steps to the water, on most sides of the house. Ideal location for stargazing.
Milbridge itself is such cute town, everything we needed for food was a short drive away.

We loved the property. We spent time on the beaches and climbing on the rocks of the shoreline. We were glad to have the large lobster pot and the yard games in the garage. The fireplace was inviting and cozy. We would definitely stay here again.

A perfect Maine vacation spot. Nice but not pretentious. Everything you need but not too modern. I mean that in the best way possible. Enjoyed the quiet time with the family after a day out exploring the region.

My husband and I had a wonderful relaxing time. We enjoyed looking for shells on the private beaches and sitting by the indoor fireplace in the evenings. The house was very clean and except for food of course, had everything we needed. We will definitely stay here the next time we are in Maine.

I loved the homey feel of this house and its location between 2 beaches! The house was very clean and neat with wifi and RoKu TV! I especially enjoyed walking along the beaches and seeing the view through the large windows. My friend said the water was filmy when she showered, but I didnt notice anything. I would love to come back!

A Wonderful Peaceful Home:) We loved the layout worked perfectly for this Family of 4. My brother and husband enjoyed looking at the pics of the home being built! Even though the 4 days we were there we had fog. Due to forecasted hurricane. We Loved the beaches, the deer along the road! Most of all my daughter Had an Awesome 22 Birthday to remember :) We also had everything we needed, the house was well supplied and clean. Did not want to go :( Wish to go back again! Thank- You so much for sharing this Special place!

Hurrican Lee was bearing down on the area, and we were worried about our stay. The owner was on top of every detail, from path to projected weather, to quick replies to initiated conversations. We could not have been better informed. Thankfully, no damage and the house and beach were left unscathed. Truly reaffirming and compassionate communication.
The sunrises and sunsets are magnificent! We saw seals in the harbor just off the beach. So many wonderful strolls along the beach.
Ideal location. Bar Harbor is a short driving distance. The Bold Coast Byway begins just down the road from the house - take the BCB trip, it was a gorgeous drive with idyllic coastal stops.
Little things like good water pressure in the shower. Separate living quarters for children and adults. Quiet end of circle location. Washer and dryer. Large yard to play games in. All of these were just icing on the cake of a great location.

The property is spotless, the location is incredible. Every day felt like we were living in a beautiful postcard. Milbridge is a great little town with unique shops and a good assortment of restaurants. We would have been happy just to stay on the property every day…eagles, osprey, seals, deer. Wonderful beaches, easy access for the kayaker and paddleboarder in our family.
Great location to get to Acadia or the less crowded sites near by.
The house is so comfortable we really could have just stayed in place for the entire week. Thank you for sharing your home with us, we really didn’t want to leave.

This property has everything you could need! The house was super clean and was the perfect size for 5 of us. We all had enough room to spread out when needed. We all loved the older style of the house and being on the peninsula was the best! So cool to have our own private beach with rocks, shells & sea glass. Lastly, the price was great as well!

Wonderful location, clean well stocked home. Comfortable, except for twin beds could be firmer. Otherwise, a really nice home.

The location is perfection. The amenities are so well stocked and generous it truly feels like you are welcomed into the family. It is a secluded but very close to town. There is nothing that needs improvement - it is truly a slice of paradise and I cannot wait until we can return again. Sea Spruces is my favorite place on earth!

The property is beautiful. The home is a bit like stepping into a time capsule, reminiscent of grandma’s house but very clean. The grounds are better than we imagined. Multiple beaches of sand and rock. The kids explored it all. So many nearby attractions, but you may be tempted to stay at the house as it has so much to offer. It was even better than we could have hoped for.

Perfect Maine Vacatio
We had an amazing week staying at this home. It was the exact place we were looking for. Private beach to relax, kayak and an unexpected delight..seals visited everyday..what fun to watch. Also, had some bald eagles pay us a visit. We ventured north to explore a bit and do some kayaking. Acadia at Winter Harbor was close by...this house was the perfect location. Very simple, some may say rustic, but had so much Maine charm. If a quiet place to revive your spirit is what you are looking for, this is the place. Highly recommend.

Just as described. Many extras as well. K cup, Mr Coffee, spring water dispenser with both hot and cold water. Feels like you have stepped back in time. Very private and so relaxing. Hope to come back again soon.

Absolutely Amazing
Even with all the great reviews this place still managed to exceed our expectations. The house was like a home-away-from-home with everything we could possible imagine. You can literally feel the history and love in the home. We kayaked around the islands with seal, cooked seafood from Chipman's Warf, biked, ran, and hammocked as the sunset (the kayak, bikes and hamock were ours). This was the 3rd of a six week 11 stop northeast trip and we were still SO SAD we had to leave.

A perfect location
We found this property to perfectly suit our needs for our Maine vacation. While our primary destination was Acadia National Park, the immediate area had so much to offer. Visitors should include a trip to McClellan State Park in Milbridge, lunch on the wharf at the Harbor House in nearby Corea, and Schoodic Point. The town of Milbridge and immeidate area has many great choices for dining. The Bayside grocery store is well stocked and has the best blueberry muffins for breakfast.

A peaceful paradise!
My goodness, what a wonderful time we all had. The waves, the incredible views, the fragrance from the Lily of the Valleys under the pines; it all kept calling me outside to my delight. I haven't been that happy and peaceful in a long time. This wonderful property is truly a Shangri-La filled with the most wonderful needlepoint, paintings and stained glass art to enjoy - not to mention all of the amazing amenities! We were able to instantly rest and relax thanks to the host's generous and spotless accommodations. I adored every moment we spent there and I am literally counting down the days until we can return! Thank you for sharing this slice of paradise!

We thoroughly enjoyed our two week stay here. It was quiet and the access to two beaches was easy and beautiful. A very comfortable home with most things provided. We traveled with another couple. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room to enjoy just about any activity. The internet was a bit slow but being out on a peninsula has its price and we felt it was totally worth it. Almost everything was provided except for food. You can’t ask for much more than that! We would love to stay here again in the future. Thank you Richard and family for sharing your lovely home so we could enjoy the incredible beauty of Maine. Tip for lobster lovers: Hannafords steams lobsters you buy there and can bring home to eat. Saves lots of money from eating in restaurants and the lobsters are extremely affordable there. Susan/ Chandler, AZ

Beautifol setting
Property is off the beaten path , but not hard to get to. Located in Milbridge , Maine with restaurants and grocery store nearby.
Richard is very friendly ,but not intrusive , and easy to communicate with. The view is beautiful . The house is just a little dated , which in my opinion was part of the charm . It is very well furnished with everything you need and the wi-fi was very good. . I would certainly stay there again .

Sand beach, rocky shore and quiet privacy!
This home is clean and well taken care of. The house is in a point and has water on three sides! You can see and have direct access to a rocky beach with some sand and a larger sand beach. Great location to visit all the sights from Bar Harbor to Canada! Then when done exploring get away from the crowds to go “home” to a secluded and quiet setting. Loved to recharge while listening to the sounds of the sea/harbor.
House and property is large enough to give everyone some “space”. Home has all you need-including convince of washer/dryer. Great place! Definitely on the “favorites” list!
