Vacation in this adorable Beach Cottage, "On the Half Shell"! This home is mere steps to the beach located only one block from the ocean. It offers comfortable bedding, flat-screen televisions in each room, cable, Roku, wifi, and everything you need to vacation in a home away from home. The Half Shell has 2 bedrooms, one bathroom, and an outdoor shower. The Master bedroom has a queen bed and a flat-screen TV with Spectrum Cable and Roku options. The second bedroom has a Queen Bed, with a Full Size Trundle Bed, and a flat-screen TV with Spectrum Cable and Roku options. This home offers a spacious living area complete with a queen-size sofabed, love seat, and 40 40-inch flat screen TV with Spectrum Cable and Roku Smart options.
The home offers a fully equipped kitchen, complete with an Oven, Microwave, Dishwasher, Keurig Duo Coffee Maker, Crock-Pot, Air Fryer, and well-stocked kitchenware. Perfect for cooking in, any style...Steam-pot, toaster, blender, etc. Enjoy the wonderful Carolina Climate on our large back deck that offers the natural shade of a beautiful Live Oak.
"On the Half Shell" is conveniently located close to many of the area's best attractions. The home is only a few blocks from the neighborhood park/playground. The Surfside Pier is 3/4 mile from the home and offers pier fishing, ice cream, and an oceanfront restaurant. There are several other excellent restaurants in this area; River City Grill (Excellent Burgers), Pizza Hyena, Chimichanga Lama (Great Mexican), Gracious Pig (Yummy BBQ), and Neil and Pams (Fun Karaoke and Great Breakfast). Garden City Beach is directly South of Surfside Beach and ends on a peninsula at the mouth of Murrells Inlet. Other attractions include Marlin Quay Marina, Gulf Stream Café, Garden City Pier, Original Sam’s Corner, and Sara J’s Seafood Restaurant.
Just a few minutes South of Surfside Beach is Murrells Inlet, a seaside community that is considered to be the 'Seafood Capital of South Carolina". Once primarily a fishing village, the town is best known for the Murrells Inlet Marshwalk, a half-mile boardwalk overlooking a pristine salt marsh, and many award-winning seafood and barbecue restaurants along Highway 17 business. Easy check in and check out. Clean property. Close to the beach. Love the outdoor shower on the deck. Owner was very responsive and easy to work with. If you rent a golf cart, the only plug in is through the back entry door. You may want to consider renting a gas cart. Other than that there are no complaints. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed our stay at the Half Shell. Ashley is very kind & easy to work with. This is the first house we have ever stayed in that had everything we needed plus some - from bedding, spices, small appliances, beach chairs, etc. The house is in a great location & all the restaurants nearby are great. We hope to be back in the future.

We enjoyed our week stay here. It was nice and clean. Owner was very polite about any questions we had and solved them quickly! Very close to ocean and nice friendly neighborhood. Golf cart parking was close by. Enjoyed the deck in back.

This was our first trip to Surfside Beach and we couldn't have asked for a more affordable, family-friendly stay. The charming little house was ideally situated beach block. It was just what we needed to explore Surfside/Myrtle. LOVED walking to the pier for Drippy's Ice Cream -- and you MUST try Pizza Hyena's just a few short blocks down. Ended our stay enjoying delicious pizza on the back deck with a bottle of wine, enjoying the salty breeze. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a pet-friendly/family friendly get-away. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home with us!!

Great place for the two of us and our Dog. Nice neighborhood close to a great beach. Visited with our granddaughter at Coastal, hiked the Waccamaw trail with her and the pup and saw a real Alligator. Had a great time at the beach at low tide later that afternoon too! Dogs can go on the beach until May. We would stay here again!

The house one block from beach, easy access. 1/4 mile from rt17. Many nice places to eat. Great clothes outlets. Walked on the beach everyday. Great place to bicycle also. Neighbors are friendly. Feels like home. Definitely will be back.

This cute little cottage was very clean and neat. It had a very beachy vibe to it. Close to the beach and other sites and shopping. All amenites were there diahes, pots and pans etc. I would highly reccomend it and would definetly visit again

We needed a place to stay while visiting family in Surfside with our two dogs. Our dogs immediately felt comfortable in the space which made us very happy! The property was extremely clean upon arrival and it had everything you could need and More! Such as plenty of towels, up to date appliances (even an keurig & airfryer). The thing that sold us on the place is that it is walking distance to our favorite bar Neal & Pam’s. Ashley was so easy to communicate with during the reservation process. Thank you so much for a place to call home during our weekend in SC!

This was our third stay at this beach cottage. The owner, Ashley, is excellent to work with. She keeps making updates to this charming home, making it more enjoyable to come back to. Close to the beach, modern kitchen, with stainless appliances. Comfortable furniture. The deck is a great place to relax and enjoy the sunshine. Located in a quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors. We enjoyed our stay at this little gem!

The place is great little getaway spot. All the amenities to make it feel like home. A really short walk to the beach, doesn’t matter which way turn out of the house. Both beach access is equal distance. The area is quiet with a small town feel.

Our stay at The Half Shell was Awesome. The location is fantastic. I stayed with my 2 dogs and we walked to the Beach multiple times. The house is just a short walk to the Beach. The neighborhood was beautiful, quiet and peaceful. The weather was beautiful. The house is clean, cozy, comfortable and exactly as advertised. I loved the keyless entry, no fears of losing a key or locking yourself out without a key. I also loved the ground level access, no leading the dogs up and down steps for every walk or potty break. It was perfect for a smaller group that does not need a house that sleeps 12! We used both the direct beach access closest to the house as well as the handicapped access which was just 3 blocks away so we could use our beach cart. We will definitely stay again and will most certainly recommend to friends and family.

This charming little bungalow worked out great for us. One of few houses on ground level so easy for older dog to enter and exit. Very clean when we arrived. Description very accurate. Owner responsive. Really enjoyed the back deck. Sat out there with drinks and food. Block and a half from beach.

The property was just as advertised. Ashley was very responsive and timely. We lost power and within minutes a neighbor brought us a lantern. It was great not to have to pack any beach chairs. All kitchen essentials were supplied. We love our coffee so the dual keurig was fantastic. One block to the beach access point. The bathroom could use some shelving. The ceiling fans need to be cleaned along with bathroom vent. The AC filters need to be changed.

This was one of the best stays we have had in Surfside. The house was perfect for our week getaway and we loved having the dogs with us. Ashley was very responsive every time we had to contact her. We were very happy with our stay at the Half Shell! The house is exactly as pictured and was perfect for myself, my boyfriend, our 21 month old, and our small dog. The street was quiet and seemed to have quite a few local residents on it. The walk to the beach was quick and easy. But I did notice that the Surfside beach websites rules are outdated compared to the rules listed on a board outside of the beach itself. We brought a tent we had planned to use on the beach (Surfside beach website states they’re allowed) but once we got out to the beach entrance, we were surprised to see a sign stating no tents were allowed. No big deal though. No dogs are allowed on the beach during summer months either which surprised me. Also wanted to add that the go cart water park advertised as being at the end of the street is now permanently closed which was a little disappointing but again, not a big deal at all. The house had pretty much everything we needed and was very clean. This was the first time I’ve stayed somewhere near the beach and not seen a single water bug! It truly was our home away from home while we were there and we’d definitely stay here again!

What a wonderful cottage! First the location could not have been more perfect. Quiet side street with a quick walk to beach access. If you forgot to bring something, no worries, the owner has pretty much got you covered. We have stayed in mega rentals on the OBX that weren’t outfitted as well as the Half Shell. Super clean and arranged nicely . Spent lots of time on the deck out back relaxing and grilling. Everyone enjoyed the outdoor shower as well. Last note, Ashley was wonderful to work with. She was able to help us on extending our stay on short notice. Definitely will be back.
