Our family aged 2 to 79 (all 25 of us) stayed in this cabin. It was perfect for us. We don't find many that are because we are 4 siblings with spouses, children, and grandchildren. Two have mobility issues so we need at least 2 bedrooms on the main floor. Young kids need to be near parents. The layout was exactly what we needed.
We have never stayed in a cabin with a kitchen so extravagantly stocked!
We worked puzzles for hours and played games as well. The kids loved the lower level with all of the games and the movie theater. The fire pit was perfect for roasting marshmallows.
Yes, the drive up was a bit hairy, but we all agreed that it was worth it and only the first time was scary.
We had visits from bears every day we were there. Heads up! They know how to get into the outside refrigerator even with the lock on it! They enjoyed our leftover baked beans and mac and cheese.
After leaving, some of us ate lunch together and my 4-year-old granddaughter said "Call everyone and tell them to go back to the cabin. I don't want to go home!"
We all agreed that we want to rent the cabin again for our annual trip. However, the $3500.00 increase in price from year to year is preventing that. Good-bye to our favorite cabin in 10 years.đđđ

Beautiful and very accommodating. We had a great family reunion. Amy our host was more than attentive and the house was very large and roomy. The drive up the mountain is tough if you are not use to that type of driving, but wow the views are unreal!

House and location were great. Location so close to the park and in Wears Valley was perfect. Views from the house were awesome!

Our extended family reunion with 21 members had a fabulous stay at this cabin. Amazing views, plenty of space, and many memories made at this home. Everything is thoughtful and comfy and lots of room in the well-equipped kitchen. The second fridge proved invaluable!
I donât know about you, but a big drawback to VRBOs for us is the challenge of getting access to live TV. The Knotty Lodge has Directv and we were able to keep up on sports, news, and watch movies. Truly appreciated, thank you.
Per previous reviews ⌠Yes the bears come by a couple of times each day! The âstarter setâ of cleaning products lasted a day with our large group and the grocery store is a decent drive away. Be prepared!

My family of thirteenâwife, mother-in-law, adult children and grandchildrenâhad an unforgettable stay at The Knotty Lodge. The description and photos in the property listing are accurate. The views are indeed breathtaking, and we spent hours enjoying them on the deck and by the fire pit. The bedrooms and common areas were perfect for a family or other large group. We could not have been more pleased.

We had a wonderful stay with plenty of room for our whole family. This property is located at the top of the mountain near Townsend were there was little to no cell service and very poor WiFi service in the house. It was clean and had games for the whole family to enjoy. The location is close to all Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg has to offer. Be careful to obey bear awareness! We saw 4 bears during the week that even came on the back porch.

My wife turned 60 so we invited our three daughters and all of their children and their spouses to celebrate in Wears Valley. There was plenty to do for our grandkids and we very much enjoyed the location near Pigeon Forge and Townsend! The cabinâs description was very accurate. We plan to return.

This house was perfect for our family of 9. We were able to spread out and enjoy ourselves. The kids had the basement and enjoyed the games and the videos available to watch. There were many games available to play and we did not use any of the games we brought along. There were also puzzles and the kids chose Sasquatch and then left it for the adults to put together. It was a challenge. We finished it and found that 5 pieces were missing, but we had fun working around that.
The table was long enough for us to have meals on one end and the puzzle on the other.
The very first night we saw, at a distance, 3 bears, a mother and 2 young ones. My granddaughter, who loves bears, was so excited. We watched them from the deck for about a half hour.
We enjoyed not being in the congestion that is Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg, but close enough that we could enjoy the attractions. I would not hesitate to return to this house if/when we return to the area for a future spring break.

Beautifully and peaceful place to stay!!

The beautiful huge cabin, the ease of working with the property manager/owner, the comfortable beds, the well equipped kitchen, the ample parking ( we came from 4 states), the incredible view, the quiet, the bears, the fire pit, the game room and even the hair raising drive up that mountain made for an unforgettable time of making memories for our family.

This property was everything and more! It had a million dollar view of the mountains. The home was fully stocked and had anything you could possibly need. The Management team made planning such a breeze. They communicated promptly leading yo to our stay and were very friendly. 100% recommendation!!!

This is a beautiful property! It has amazing views. The house is well equipped with anything you might need. The old folks hung out on the porch and admired the views. The young adults spent most of their time on the pool table. We had people converging from Indiana, Virginia, and Florida. There was ample parking for our 5 vehicles. It was a quick drive to Pidgeon Forge. We got to see a mom and baby bear hanging out in the ravine. There are houses being built right next door and in front so there was a little bit of construction noise but it didnât take away from the peace or the views! (Both are almost complete) We would stay here again!

Overall location amazing. The view was amazing and the first two days snow was on the top of the mountains. We even had some snowflakes on the porch.

We booked this place for a big group getaway. The house is amazing! We had everything we needed. The views were spectacular (especially sunsets). We had 12 adults and 9 children. We loved spending time there and would recommend it to others. The host was very responsive and we ended up getting a free night because the roads werenât safe enough due to ice. She even sent people to help make sure we got off the mountain safely. I would highly recommend this host!

The property was amazing. The home was absolutely beautiful.
Wish we would have booked for two weeks instead of one week.
Host was very accommodating and answered all concerns immediately.
Would definitely stay here again. There was 15 of us.
Take batteries for TV remote controls. This was really the only thing missing.

My family of 15 loved our stay at this cabin! It met all of our needs. I loved everyone being able to sit at that table and eat together. The kids loved the basement area and the hot tub. We only had one issue and it was taken care of within a couple of hours.

Huge cabin, tons of space, really awesome view from property, nice location wears valley, very clean

Cabin was perfect, clean, and well equipped. Our group of 16 adults and 3 kids had plenty of room and lots to do with the arcade games and game tables. Built fires in the fireplace that made it extra cozy when we got to see a few snow flurries. Grilled steaks one night on the two propane grills and was able to seat everyone at the large dining room table.

We love everything about this place - it's size, the views, location! It's a beautiful place offering the best views. We love the fact that there is an outdoor fire pit - a setting to sit outside and absorb the views. The cabin is spacious providing ample room for our large group. Having a second and third fridge is awesome! (one little comment but a sort of non issue, because we do not watch much tv - is the "theatre room" in basement. The platform needs to extend out so that the front row people can rest their feet on the platform rather than dangle above the floor and the second row should sit on a raised platform or at least have the seating off set from the front row. ) Just a minor inconvenience but an inexpensive fix. Anyhow we will return regardless of the theatre room. Our favorite place out of about 5 or 6 different cabins we've experience over the last 12 years.

Very impressive property for a large group. Plenty of room and lots of supplies in the kitchen as well as linens. We loved the large dinning room table. Great selection of activities for entertainment and amazing views!!

Had not had my children together at 1 time in 14yrs PERFECT place!! Grandkids enjoyed themselves with seeing bears everyday, games, hot tub, tether ball and of course smores every night by the fire pit. Drive up the mountain a little scary but once you get there the views are to die for!!! Leaves were just changing I'm sure if we would of stayed a week later it would be amazing!! DEFINITELY A 5 STAR CABIN!!

This is a phenomenal cabin with excellent furnishings and above average amenities. Is perfect for a large family with something to do for everyone. Kitchen is extremely well furnished, which we greatly appreciated. While the cabin is at the top of the mountain, the roads are well paved so easily drivable.

This home was perfect for our annual family vacation. It was at the top of a mountain the views were amazing! We had visits from bears almost daily! The home had plenty of space for everyone to spread out. Wifi/cell data was very limited my teen kids were so frustrated at first but they quickly discovered puzzles, bags, pool, ping pong and family time! Perfect! The kitchen was well furnished, beds were so comfortable we would stay there again, absolutely. Thank you for allowing us to have a wonderful week!

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was just as pictured online. The only issue we had was the numerous bears, which we were warned about. But their presence was increased because someone was putting garbage in a construction dumpster at the house being built next door. There were no construction workers all week, so it had to be someone staying in the area.

Knotty Lodge was a resort!!! The view from the Living room and Master bedroom was beautiful! The kitchen was well-equipped with crock pots and a griddle! My granddaughters as well as the adults enjoyed the Entertainment room with ping pong, video games, air hockey, TV and theater chairs for movies and more! The living room, dining room and kitchen were open and spacious! We enjoyed spending our evenings together with the pool table located in the open loft upstairs! From the dining room door we watched a bear walk up the driveway and onto the porch! He looked at us and walked away!!! The firepit was awesome! Plenty of room and chairs for all of us!! My granddaughter cropped every family photo and included the black bear eating dinner, playing cards and spending an evening with us around the campfire!!! We never laughed so much!! We loved the cabin and we loved our vacation to Pigeon Forge!!! ***Just a note!!! The pool was too far away! We would pass it on the way down the mountain!

The house is amazing. So many terrific spaces to enjoy. Simple and subtle decor and stocked of the basics. The views are phenomenal. We spent time just gazing out the windows and sitting on the decks.

Our family enjoyed our vacation in this spacious home! Loved the hot tub and the many game areas. The view was awesome! Many nights we enjoyed the fire pit! And sooo many bearsđ

Overall nice, enjoyable stay, great views, plenty of room for sleeping, dining and gaming. Everyone had a great time.
Didn't care for the drive up, too steep and on the edge, brought on anxiety for me, although got better each trip up and down the mountain. Wish I had known about the drive ahead of time. Loved the ping pong, pool, air hockey, and the hot tub! Loved it, but most likely wouldn't return because of the drive.
3.0 / 5.0
Beautiful home...it's not being maintained very well. 2 of the deck railings are unstable and not safe if you have children. Double oven - the lower one doesn't work at all. The ice maker doesn't work at all. Workers have left trash all over affecting your view of the beautiful mountainside. We picked up 2 large hefty bags of trash, too much for us to clean. The house had a 1/4' of dust in many places. On the upside all of the beds were very comfortable, great that it had laundry facilities as they only give you 1 kitchen towel. You also need to bring all of your paper products. Great hiking and fun times had by all.
4.0 / 5.0
The drive up and down the mountain were a little dangerous, but definitely worth it. If I could give any advice, donât feed the bears they come back a few times a da. The place itself was definitely worth every penny and beautiful inside and out . The hot tub was dirty, and a few other little things. The only problem is the description about the pool was unclear and was not opened which was a huge disappointment

Had a really good time. Enjoyed the family time at the cabin for all ages. Master bedroom was a little cold for my daughter but easily manageable.

Loved the cabin! Plenty of room for everyone! We even got to see beautiful snow AND a mama bear and 3 cubs off our front porch!
We had some minor issues but management was very helpful and easy to get in touch with!
The cabin could use some extra cleaning in placesâŚparticularly dusting. Internet and phone service was pretty much non existent, but expected for the location.
Overall we had a great stay!
3.0 / 5.0
We had trouble with the heater, in where it was 30 degress inside and outside it was 20. Called the management but they would say its normal the the heater pump wouldnt work. We asked for heaters but theh only send 3 small ones in where for a house the big they did not work. There was a power outage as well the lights would go off and then the WiFi did nlt work in where we paid more to gef more and it still didnt work.

Place was perfect for our large group. Plenty of space for everyone, clean, and beautiful setting.
5.0 / 5.0
We had a group of 22 adults and 4 children! Plenty of room for everyone! Very clean. Property manager was very responsive from the time we booked until the time we left! The road up to the cabin was a bit scary for me as we are from Florida and not used to the steep inclines and mountain driving. But after a couple days we got used to it. Great location within 40 minutes to Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and the Smokey Mountain Park. Beautiful views from all the large windows and decks. Seen a previous review regarding dish towels so I brought some from home. Glad I did as there was only 2. We also brought an extra towel per person as they only provided 1 per person. Ordered wood to be delivered the day we arrived. Very convenient unless you have a vehicle to get it yourself one you get there. Bring a multipurpose tool as all I found was a hammer. Be sure to lock your cars and keep the doors closed and locked as the bears come right up on the patio. Do not store any food in the patio refrigerator, including milk, as the bears will help themselves to anything in there. Overall wonderful experience! Looking forward to out next visit!

Our family wanted a location to spend Thanksgiving all together. Knotty Lodge met all our expectations. We were 7 adults and 9 children. We had plenty of room and things to do.
The advertisement was exactly as promised everything worked and the management went above expectations to make our stay a Happy Thanksgiving.
5.0 / 5.0
Great place and communication with owner/Mgr. Very clean and stocked with all kitchen utilities
5.0 / 5.0
I was overall very happy with our stay. The only major complaint I have was that the kitchen for a group of 14 people had two dish towels (thin ones) and no dishcloths. There was one small sponge. We ended up using bath towels in the kitchen. Also no cleaner to wipe down countertops. I am particular about having ample cleaning supplies in the kitchen and towels in the kitchen. It also would be different if we could have zipped to the store to buy some things, but there is no zipping anywhere from this location. It is absolutely beautiful and so very peaceful, but it is not convenient to run to town. Be sure you have what you need.
