Peacefully nestled on the banks of the Vermilion River, Bayou Rose awaits your visit to the beautiful historical district of Abbeville. Our private adult only cottage is located in the heart of Cajun Country with our many festivals and seafood restaurants. A tranquil,serene atmosphere where one can watch the ducks and barges as they make their way down the river.Listening to the comforting sounds of birds singing or the church bells ringing from up river as you sip your morning coffee on the porch or private wharf overlooking the river.
Full amenities include aromatherapy soaps, a complimentary basket with a variety of continental breakfast items for duration of your stay, coffee, milk, juice and water is also complimentary. And let's not forget a complimentary serving of Cajun BOUDIN! Cook up your own Cajun breakfast in your fully stocked kitchen with access to a BBQ grill overlooking the Vermilion River.
Our one bedroom private cottage has a queen size bed in bedroom and queen sleeper sofa in living room. Full size tub and shower complete with washer and dryer. Detergent is complimentary. Living room and kitchen area has floor to ceiling views of the Vermilion River. Central air and heat, ceiling fans throughout makes our cottage comfortable year round.
We are 15 minutes from Lafayette, 90 minutes from Baton Rouge, 2 1/2 hours from New Orleans making day trips easy. Come and enjoy the many fine restaurants in our quaint little town and the many festivals that are never ending.

The cottage is just precious and perfect for a get away from everyday life! The highlight for us was the porch which faces the Vermilion River, the perfect place to sit peacefully and enjoy the local wildlife. We also really enjoyed meeting the owners!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bayou Rose! Anne is an exceptional hostess with so much attention to detail and extra special touches that make you feel so welcomed. The cottage is very peaceful and serene that sits on a beautiful property overlooking the Vermillion River. The cottage was very clean, and Anne provided numerous complimentary items to make the stay so easy. The boudin and pork rinds were a big hit!
There are several local restaurants nearby, we highly recommend Dupuy's, that offer the true Cajun fare.
Can't wait to make a return trip and visit with Anne again!

This is our fourth trip to this fabulous cottage. The hosts are great about giving ideas of what to do and great places to dine. But, just sitting on the back porch gazing at the bayou is super relaxing and gives a person a chance to chill and rewind.

It was amazing. My husband and I have been traveling to different states to learn more about the real American cultures, history, and lifestyle. The little rosé cottage is the best so far. The owners Mrs. Ann and Mr Mike are supper nice. They were always willing to give us information on what to eat, things to do in Abbeville plus if the town was hosting any events they let us know. The cottage was extremely clean.

Anne and Michael were amazing hosts, who made sure we had everything we needed. They were right next door to us and made it clear to contact them if we needed ANYTHING! Anne was also like a second mother to us young adults who made sure we were safe when we were exploring Louisiana and even before our vacation started and once we were on our way home as well!

It was great to have a sweet little place to rest and relax. We also toured Jefferson and Avery Island, went on a swamp tour, and ate great food. All of this at the recommendations of Anne and Mike. They treated us to delicious snacks as well. They go above and beyond as hosts!❤️

The pictures of the Bayou Rose do not do it justice. It was larger than what I imagined from the pictures. It was very comfortable with lots of amenities. I loved the location, in town, close to restaurants, set back from the road and on the river. Very quiet and relaxing. My wife and I stayed for a week and found lots to do from nature hikes, festivals, museums, and even golf. I loved having Anne and Mike near by. They where very friendly and helpful. This is a BIG PLUS for a place to stay.

From seeing Whooping Cranes near the White Lake Wetlands Conservation Area to the most delicious crabcakes at Dupuy's, all the way to spending time sharing memories of snakes, gators and the Governor with Mike, our stay in the Bayou Rose Cottage on the bank of the Vermillion River has been a very joyful adventure!
This is really someplace special and we were very blessed to meet Anne & Mike. They gave us so many tips on places to go and things to do. We really enjoyed our adventures in the Abbeville area. The accommodations were perfect and we want to return!

We enjoyed our stay very much. We were on the go a lot. We were in town for a wedding. We had everything we needed. I didn’t get to meet Anne but from our conversations on the phone she was very sweet and helpful. My husband got to meet Mike. He enjoyed their little visit.

Anne and her husband Mike are wonderful. Very accommodating. Staying here was just like being at home. There is everything you need. We came to Abbeville for a gator hunt. Anne and Mike let us process our 2 gators right in the back yard, which was so helpful and so were they! When we are back in the area we will most definitely be staying here again. They both are extremely knowledgeable of their area and can give you the best recommendations of where to go, or how to get there.

Cottage was very quaint, cozy and clean! Location was perfect! Close to the conveniences of town, but not too close. Our hosts were very fun, charming and attended to our needs! Beautiful Property
Anne was wonderful! She gave so much good information on places to visit and the best places to eat! She even helped us book a tour to a crawfish farm. The cottage is beautiful and clean and has everything you need. The view of the Bayou is wonderful for sitting on the porch and drinking coffee! I would definitely love to come back!

Bayou Getaway
As we arrived we was greeted by our beautiful host, Anne. She was so friendly and gracious. She gave us a tour of our cottage and a summary of the grounds and surroundings. She had so many helpful hints and suggestions. The Bayou Rose is located to so many great restaurants and markets. It’s also less than an hour’s drive to a wonderful beach. We loved our stay and are already planning our next trip to the Bayou Rose.

Anniversary on the Bayou
Our anniversary is a couple of days after Christmas, so we decided to celebrate our 46th in Abbeville. We have stayed at Bayou Rose on several occasions and feel more like family being welcomed back each time we return. Despite being located inside the town of Abbeville, it provides the perfect quiet & isolated place to relax and unwind. A wide lawn separates the house from the Vermilion Bayou which flows lazily past. I love to sit on the dock by the water with my coffee in the mornings and watch the sun peeking through the moss-covered trees. I've already begun plotting out when we can return to visit hosts, Anne & Mike!

The cottage is quaint, very clean & the atmosphere is relaxing. Mrs. Anne is super friendly with incredible southern hospitality, very knowledgeable about the area & gives great advice on where to eat great cajun food. It was a very nice getaway and I highly recommend checking out this property.

Awesome Cottage
We had a fabulous stay at Bayou Rose. Mike and Anne are great hosts. We felt very relaxed and would highly recommend them. They were very knowledgeable of the area and eateries. It is the perfect base for many activities in the area or just a place to sit on the porch or dock to relax.

Like coming Home
This was our second stay at Bayou Rose, and it really did feel like we were arriving to spend time with family instead of just having a place to sleep for a couple of nights. We maintained contact with the hosts after our first stay, and have enjoyed a developing friendship. On our first visit, Anne provided suggestions for local dining, sightseeing, and even connected us with a very knowledgeable local guide for a swamp tour. This trip, we encountered intermittent rain, and after having done the touristy things before, we were content to sit, read, and enjoy this quiet & beautiful spot on the banks of the Vermilion River.
The guest house is next to the hosts' residence, being originally built as a mother-in-law type structure. It is completely separate so privacy is assured, but close enough that the hosts are always available if needed.
