About this house rental
Welcome to Fabulous Hutch Nine. This home is privately nestled in the trees, yet located just steps from restaurants and shopping in the quaint Bavarian-style village. Enjoy breathtaking views and sunsets overlooking the mountain from the wrap-around balcony of this home.
Although Snowshoe Mountain is know for being one of the best Ski Resorts on the East Coast, there is so much else to do throughout the rest of the year.In the summer, there is mountain biking, hiking, swimming, golf and so much more.
The Greenbrier trail is just down the mountain to Cass, WV. It was an old railroad track that was turned to a 80 mile bike, hike or horsebackriding trail. Cass Railroad is a one of the last steam locomotive trains that take you on an 11 mile ride through beautiful WV mountains.
Raven Golf Club, The Gary Player Signature Raven Golf Club at Snowshoe Mountain Resort provides an impeccable course with gorgeous scenery every step of the way. Long fairways take advantage of the rolling terrain, some dropping as much as 200 feet from tee to landing.
Most are attracted to Snowshoe for the unlimited winter activities. There are 57 trails for you skiing pleasure or snowboarding on the terrain park, snowmobiling, tubing, cross country skiing, and so much more. But Snowshoe is now a year round destination offering mountain biking, hiking, and weekend activities for spring, summer and fall. Play golf at the Gary Player designed Raven Golf Course, voted #1 Public Access Golf Course in West Virginia for the fourth year in a row. There is something for everyone at Snowshoe!
Our 3 story Hutch is beautifully decorated with lots of charm & care to make your stay enjoyable.
When you walk in through the bottom floor, you enter a 'mud' room perfect for putting on & taking off, and storing your ski gear in a warm safe place. This is also where the laundry room is located with the full sized W/D. On this level there are 2 Master Suites, both with King Size beds, one of the suites has a full desk for those who may have to catch up on some business while you are away. There is a gas fireplace for romance & to warm up those chilly nights!
The middle level has a wrap around balcony for viewing those fabulous sunsets, the gorgeous views & the wildlife, deer, rabbits & even an occasional bear!
On this level is 2 other bedrooms with a queen sized beds, on has a private bathroom, and the other has a pass thru bath shared by the rest of the house.
The kitchen is fully equipped with Hickory cabinets, granite countertops, a dishwasher, microwave & double door refrigerator w/ water & ice-maker in the door.
The dining room table has leaves & can seat 12. The living area faces the gas fireplace & overlooks the view down the mountain.
All bedrooms & living room have flat screen TV's & the house is hooked to Satellite TV.
There is a loft bedroom has 2 double beds.
We recently added a Hottub for your relaxation and pleasure!
After you park right in front of the Hutch, in our private parking area, you never really have to get back in your car again until you depart. The Snowshoe shuttle service stops approx 50 yards from the Hutch & provides free transportation to anywhere from the very top of the mountain, to the Village & into Silver Creek. You can ski from that same area on the Cupp, Shay's slopes(black & double black), or the other side where there are green & blue slopes. The lifts come up at that same area. Or you may choose to walk a 5-10 minute walk down a plowed lit path to the Village.
As many of you know, Snowshoe has expanded it's terrain recently. Two new trails have been developed, both of which will be accessed by the new Soaring Eagle Express. The new slopes have increased the total number of Snowshoe's ski trails to 59.
There is also good news for Cupp Run and Shay's, if you haven't heard. There is a midway station now, which was how Cupp Run was originally set up. This will enable Snowshoe to open Cupp and Shay's early season, as they only have to make snow to the mid station, and will open the lower half when the cold weather supports snowmaking on the entire mountain. They have also enhanced their capability to make snow on these upper slopes with new equipment.

3rd year in a row staying here!! Love this property!!

This is a fantastic place! Location is great, warm and welcoming home with a fabulous view. I almost hate to tell everyone how awesome it is because I don't want too much trouble the next time trying to book it! We had a great stay I can't say enough how much we enjoyed this place and look forward to returning next time.

The cabin is amazing! We had the best time. The new hot tub was the icing on the cake. Can’t wait to do it again. I want to thank the owners for having such a wonderful, inviting place for us to stay.

I have been coming to Snowshoe for over 35 years and Hutch #9 is my favorite property

The property was located just a few minute walk to the slopes, yet far enough to be quiet at night. The views were fantastic. The ammendities in the cabin met all our needs.

We had an AMAZING time!!! This is a great house for your family, it is so close to everything. We had lots of snow (winter storm) which was crazy. We are from SC and do not see snow like we saw here. Pam is awesome she responded so quickly with questions we had about the gas logs. We will defiantly be going back. Wonderful memories made with my family and especially for my 81 year old mom!!

Amazing property, exactly as listed. Location was perfect and the house had everything we needed. Kitchen was fully stocked. Property owners were extremely responsive and kind. We definitely hope to stay here again! Hottub and sunset views were the perfect way to end our days on the slopes.

Perfect location for mountain top activities.

This place was amazing. Well stocked in all areas and had a little mini retreat in the master down stairs.
You cannot beat the views of the sunset off the back deck, and you can tell how much thought and care has been put into this place.

We had some issues with the hot tub, but I understand its new and am confident owner will sort it out as they clearly care for and maintain rest of property.

The house was wonderful and our experience overall was great. The worst part were the directions. Even though there are written directions the house was extremely hard to locate and the address is of no use. Tried contacting the owners from the ski rental shop while we had Wi-Fi but never got a response. Freezing cold weather with 9 people trying to locate a house in the dark made it a pretty tough couple hours upon arrival. Finally found the house after getting out of the vehicle and just walking up and down the road looking for the house number. I cannot say anything about law negative about the stay and the only reason I have harped so much about the location is that it is IMPERATIVE you do not try and locate this property after dark with the directions provided

We had a great trip. Love the house! Loved the spaciousness! The huge sectional allowed all 7 of us to watch TV comfortably together at night. We will stay here again! Not a ski in-ski out but just a quick drive to drop off. You g folks could walk it but no trouble at all to scoot up in the truck. We could see the house from Powder Monkey, just too much to walk with kids and skis. The house was worth it.
5.0
the property itself was nice, however, someone could tell the people from out of town that the closest grocery store is over an hour away.
Also, the entire place could use more lighting!! You can't hardly see the signs of where you are going.

Overall a great experience. The home is well taken care of, with lots of space..Hopefully we can rent it again.

My family had a wonderful stay at this beautiful property. The house was clean and had everything we needed. The views were absolutely amazing! The location was perfect - close to the slopes (walking distance) and a short trolley ride to the village which was easy to pick up right across the street from the house. We enjoyed the large great room with comfortable sectional, cozy fireplace and long dining table where the whole family could gather. The owner was responsive and easy to communicate with. Would definitely recommend this property to others.

It was perfect for our family. We parked at the house and walked everywhere or took the bus, it was great! Linens and some toiletries were provided which was really helpful. Remember to bring groceries as there is only a small convenience store on the mountain (which we weren’t expecting). Overall it was great and our family is looking forward to staying here again.

Wonderful home. Clean cozy and in the center of everything. Had a pilot light go out on the heating and Pam and maintenance were super quick to get it fixed. Wonderful memories made. Would recommend this home to all.

Well appointed home with thoughtful extras: spices, storage bags, shampoo, body wash, racks for ski gear. We enjoyed the close access to the slopes. Home is very comfortable and we would love to return!

Great size for a large family with plenty of space, bedrooms, and bathrooms to accommodate the 12 of us. Furnishings need some attention as many things are broken or not working (e.g., wall hooks, chair posts, ceiling lights, recliner, lamps, etc.) that were fine when we stayed the previous year. Place is close to village but not close enough to really walk since there aren't clear sidewalks the entire way so driving is necessary, which is a bummer. Host was quick to reply to questions and was very accomodating!

Incredible place with an incredible view, everything about it was wonderful! Thank you guys for having us!

We loved our stay at this property. The four of us and our two pups were able to spread out in the very comfortable house with a great wraparound porch. We loved the fact that the porch was gated so our dogs could hang out there with us. Nice walking paths make the location so convenient - restaurants across the street, and the Snowshoe Resort and all its amenities just a short walk away. Ample street side parking is available. Just a heads up, the circular staircase inside is very narrow - easier to use outside stairs to get to the lower level.

Family vacation. Even in the rain ....Snowshoe is stunning. On Saturday, our last night, it was the most beautiful sunset...lasted about 3 hours of changing colors....all while sitting on the back deck. Thank you. We will definitely be back.

Remote slice of Heaven
Although the WiFi is nice and useful- this property offers a getaway that allows for solace with each sunset and sunrise. The property sits facing the west side of the mountain offering a vista of colorful sunsets. Clean, well- maintained and easy communication made our stay comfortable with sweet memories.

Great house for a group getaway!
We stayed at Hutch #9 for a summer wedding at Snowshoe and it was absolutely perfect. The house was a great size for a large group... with lots of area to hangout and spaces to retreat for some solitude. Beds were comfy and check-out was a breeze: take out the trash, run the dishwasher, and put towels in baskets--that's it! Easy check-out is always such a relief as the last day of vacation can feel stressful anyway. My only note is that the staircase between the floors is narrow and steep... we got comfortable with it by day three but it is quite intimidating on day one, especially when you're carrying luggage.

Million dollar views
We were in town for a downhill race and stayed at Hutch 9 this past week. Perfect location to everything: walking distance to the village, within eyesight of the starting box for the race, and close to the lift as well. The home sits right off the road making is easily accessible and convenient. The views from the wrap around porches are incredible!! Our favorite thing in the evening was to gather around and watch the beautiful sunsets. The home is very spacious, well stocked, and clean. Communication with the host was good, any questions or concerns were addressed promptly. We had a great visit and would totally recommend this location to anyone who wants the convenience of being closer to everything but still wanting to feel that feeling of peace and relaxation.

Great outing at Hutch 9
This is a spacious property with a rustic outside look, but a very modern interior with all the trimmings.
Never felt crowded with our group of 11, and enjoyed the many amenities.
Especially nice:
* all-around deck - you can follow the sun!
* so close to all slopes - no need to use shuttle bus or car to get to the action

Good location, very clean but older property. Beware of the narrow staircase to heaven.
Pleasure staying at this lodge. The owners were very responsive and the lodge was clean. Only major concern was the extremely narrow round staircase that connects the 3 floors and heat control issue throughout the house.

A little bit of a hike to the slopes
Loved hutch 9. Very clean and exactly as described. Its a bit of a hike to get to the front side of the mountain but getting to Cupp run is a short walk out of the basement door. Coming back to hutch 9, ski partially down Cupp Run and cut across between the slope side hutches to access hutch 9. There is a shuttle bus stop exactly across the street which makes it very convenient to get to Silver Creek.

Great location and great house
Maintenance came within 15 minutes the night we came to address heating up the house. To us, that was amazing. The house had all the amenities we needed, and was close to Cupp Run and Powder Monkey and Powderridge. Parking was great as well.

We just returned from 3 days in this lovely property. We were an all adult group of 9 and had plenty of room to spread out and relax. The property was clean and well stocked. You just can't beat its location, being close enough to walk to the village yet far enough out to feel like you have some privacy. Would definitely stay here again!!

This was one of the best vacations I've ever had. The home was clean, warm and inviting. There were 11 of us from 4 months to 60 years and we all had a place to sleep, the table was big enough for us to all eat together and we enjoyed every minute. I'd stay here again in a heart beat!
